Nice hot bath, etc! take care , be safe, and Lou, hope your knee is alot better and Anna your thumb! You know i cut a finger many years ago, and the nerve was cut, it took a year, but it came back, never went for more surgery, Aloha.🍻🌈⛄☮ from, the laurentian mountains, north of Montreal qué canada. Thank you for putting this together for us! As one of your crazies it is greatly appreciated and very enjoyable! Great views, great commentary, and humour! Not everything should, or can, be serious when you're doing the things you do!
Thanks for the enjoyable video. I got to relive my treks up there. The pit toilet at one time straddled a crevasse at the caldera edge. It was the best view from a toilet seat I ever had. If you go back up the summit hike is worthwhile. The caldera floor has a lot of interesting cones etc. I always carry a flask of Cointreau to celebrate success.
Nice hike! I stayed at the summit cabin back in March 1998. I started hiking up from the observatory on the the south side of the Mauna Loa. One thing is for sure when that high up 2 beers are the same as drinking 7 beers!
thanks i hiked it back in the early 80s . we started at the campground and hiked up. the access road was closed because a winter storm knocked a bunch of trees over. it was a amazing hike up. there was plenty of snow at the caldera summit cabin and there was a snowman already built. it was really wierd up there with all the snow and the view. the descent was harder on me than the long accent. calf muscles were killing me. what a trip though

Our pleasure!
Some of those places almost looks like Mars.
There is an astronaut training habitat or something the like on the side of Maunaloa where the road to the Mauna Loa Observatory is/was.
Amazing journey. Cant wait to get back in the spaceshit and do it again. Aloha

Thanks for watching. We had a blast and can't wait to get back up there again. We too carry a little fire water for warmth and to celebrate. Aloha

Could have a couple cold ones up there after the past 6 days of hiking and filming. Next time I will pack me a couple and a little fire water. Aloha
@@TwoPineapples Fire Rock Pale Ale would be the perfect one :)

Was this done after the eruption?
No, this was a few months prior to Nov Mauana Loa eruption
