I have a novel written by Tolkien that goes over the whole lineage of the major elvish nations and another book with a list of over a thousand names and out of all the names Jackson could have chosen for The Desolation of Smaug, he had to make-up a character. Can you understand that?
I know what you mean Angie, I think the novel you have may be The Silmarillion that I mentioned. It also describes the events that lead to the development of the Numenorians, really detailed sometimes it's hard to remember that it isn't real history. However, I haven't reread my Tolkien collection for about 20yrs so am rusty on which books did what. I have to restrict myself as I'm a self-confessed addict!
