Enerco, the manufacturer of DeWalt heaters test all heaters out at the factory. That’s why you had residual fuel coming out. It is absolutely not used. Lol
There are E3 and E4 issues, without a doubt. But the residual fuel is from the factory. I have one right now with an E4 code and another one that works perfectly.
From what I found on the internet the Heater is shipped with pump Dry that means cold Start mode is needed any time Heater is refueled. Press power button and mode button at the same time for 5 seconds. A 30 sec count down will start while pump is primed. Heater will start automatically at end of cycle.
@@ALWAYSOCCUPIEDTV E3 is the safety switch on the top handle. If the handle was installed (electrical connection connected) that error will go off. Sometimes it best to follow instructions as the manual states to start the unit.
There is definitely an issue with these heaters as 1 of my 2 is giving an E4 and fuel runs out of end also. I would like to know the exact issue and fix. I really want to love this heater.
i've had mina a little over a year and it has now stopped working/firing up just pours fuel out of end of heater and will not lite, ive checked ignitor, photo cell and all lines and wires even removed fuel injector...nothing looks bad but still will not fire up just trys igniting and pors raw fuel out end then shuts down
@@joevassel7224 i had bought the extended warranty which Lowes gave me a replacement of my choice, i chose a craftsman...and got to keep old Dewalt which has only had 15-20 gallons ran thru it total i took it apart again last night seems fuel nozzle is non repairable and that's what i'll order for it a new fuel nozzle and try it, it just pours raw fuel out end of barrel while trying to fire until it shuts off
Let us know if you figure out what is going on. Mine is still under warranty from DeWalt, 3 years, but I’d rather fix it than the hassle of warranty replacement.
I've diagnosed it to the point it appears it is the fuel nozzle it is non-repairable item just throw it away and replace it with a new one I'll be ordering one this next week

OOOOOOOO!!!!!! So what about the E3 issue?

@@AnyHotRod2000 I’m going through the same issue right now. Same senario too not quite a year yet.

Let us know if the fuel nozzle was the culprit. These comments could help out a lot of others with the same issue.
How's the life of the battery? Do the batteries get hot?
What's the voltage it's pulling ?
Did you have to use a heavy gauge electrical cord?
I have only used batteries in mine. When they work, it’s great, just as much heat as a corded torpedo heater.
Hopefully you they did not give you a bunch of hassle when you tried to return it
E3 was tripping because you didn't connect the handle
Too bad retrofit batteries will only work with real Dewalt tools.
