Was there on April 29th, and bought a bottle of fins Grappa at that same store... After so many hilly towns, I loved the fact that this place is really flat~~~ a little rest for our old legs~~ lol.

It is a welcomed relief to find a flat hill town

Hi Michael, found your videos by accident but I love them so much :)
I'm taking my mom to Tuscany in October but she's a bit worried about walking uphill too much. I already know we probably won't be going to Montepulciano based on your video but Pienza is a must. Any other flat town recommendations for us? 😅

Pienza is the best by far, and one of my favorite towns. Montepulciano has a tourist train that starts at the bottom on the north end, so you can use that. Not a lot of flat towns. Castigliano del Lago is okay. Cortona is easy to get to the two main piazzas, after that it's all up hill. Drive to Piazza Garibaldi, drop her off, go park, and walk back about 10 minutes. That way she can see the two best piazzas in Cortona, Repubblica and Signorelli. Siena isn't bad. Try San Gusme in Chianti, one hour from Pienza.

Couple more. Go to Bolsena, about 45 mins south of Pienza. Flat and by a lake. Beautiful. Also if she is up for a walk, Civita is there, an amazing town. Then Look at Orvieto, not far from Bolsena. I've never been there but I hear it's flat once you get up to the town. And there are escalators to get tourists to the top. Fun.
