How is it I've been to Italy three times since 1998, stayed in Siena for a week 20 years ago and never went here? Never even heard of it! Italians held the secret well 🤫So beautiful - meravigliosamente bene! It reminds me of St Paul de Vence in France.

45:34 I would like to make a very small clarification: the "bruschetta" is a slice of toasted bread on a charcoal grill, then "rubbed" generously with garlic and dressed with an unfiltered extra virgin olive oil from the mill and a pinch of salt.
The "panzanella" is bruschetta with the addition of ripe tomatoes cut into small pieces and basil leaves.
There are variants that use other aromatic plants such as oregano or even thyme but they are geographically limited.
In Tuscany bruschetta is also called "fettunta" that is a "slice (fetta)" of bread "greased (unta)" with oil.

Vorrei fare una piccolissima precisazione: la "bruschetta" è una fetta di pane abbrustolita su una griglia posta su carbone di legna, quindi "strofinata" generosamente con aglio e condita con un olio extravergine di oliva di frantoio non filtrato ed un pizzico di sale.
La "panzanella" è una bruschetta con aggiunta di pomodoro maturo tagliato a piccoli pezzi e foglie di basilico.
Esistono varianti che utilizzano altre piante aromatiche come origano o addirittura timo ma sono geograficamente limitate.
In Toscana la bruschetta viene chiamata anche "fettunta" cioè una "fetta" di pane "unta" di olio.
