I don't always have a needle threader handy because I keep breaking mine, so I found a thin piece of wire(like from a twist tie for bread bags, or wherever you can find a very thin one), then fold it in half and use it the same way as you use the little ones that come in a sewing kit, just make sure that its long enough to hold on to. It may be a bit trickier to get used to, but it definitely works in a pinch. You will most likely have the same issues when you're working with a smaller eye, but it will work with many different sized needles and different thickness of threads without switching to a different threader.(And it won't break.(Too easily 😉😁))🤨 Its just something to consider trying when you find yourself in need. 🙃

Fantastic! 8:26 You've solved half my issue with threading six strands. Now if I can just stop destroying needle threaders wholesale (or maybe I should invest in shares in a needle threader company) 🙂

Just today I wishing I had something better to help me thread my needles. I'm very new to embroidery, so I haven't gotten into that groove yet. It's my biggest frustration so far, but I'm gonna keep trying!

Confession: I'm a thread licker, so that helps. Hahaha! Make sure you have a clean cut on the end of your thread. Any little fuzzy strands will make it impossible.

@@CutesyCrafts Gasp! 😆😉😄 Yeah, that's pretty much what I've been doing. I'm getting better at it, but sometimes with my bad hands I just struggle!

The ones where the wire goes into plastic are a waste of money, they eventually come lose and leave you with a cm of wire. Thanks for your review.

Any updates to this since it was 3 years ago? Anything new that has come out that is better than any of these?

Thanks for the review. Question please, on the larger, gold colored threader that you push the lever down with, does it work for threading 3 strands of DMC embroidery thread? Thank you.

If I remember correctly, it worked for 1 and 3 strands, but not 6. I think I say in the video.

Why reject the hummingbird if it works for one strand? I do thread painting and only use one strand with a #10 needle throughout an entire project. Having a threader that works for that is important! The old school tin ones with the wire keep breaking on me. Seems like it's difficult to find one tool that works for all needles and #s of threads.

That's a good point, I just rarely use only 1 strand. So yes, you could use it for that! The little Puffin one would work well too, but probably costs a lot more.
