Buzz took it pretty hard when he learned that he’s a highly popular toy from a successful franchise. Imagine the devastation of THIS Buzz when he finds out that he’s a crappy knock-off of a toy of a toy from a played-out movie franchise about toys.

There are at least two reasons to put the sticker over the egg's connection. The first is that it doubles as a tamper indicator, if the sticker is torn then someone likely opened the egg. The second is that it helps hold the egg together even if it gets dropped or tossed around.

Bandai had a toy line called
"Egg Stars" that had many characters turned into eggs.
But these are original designs of the same idea.
Bandai *did* make Woody & Buzz as eggs, for the record. Your point about these being unique moulds stands, though. Two Bandai eggs of Buzz exist and the one shown here isn't a direct clone of either of them.

The mere existence of these things raises further troubling implications about the already terrifyingly existential Toy Story universe. Bootleg Woody here looks like he's already realized it.
Okay, we need Phelous to do a remake of Toy Story using all the bootleg toys he's acquired over the years. Odds are that it'll be better than any actual Toy Story remake Disney might do.
I wouldn’t actually be that upset if Pixar decided to remake the first Toy Story, purely as a way of showing how far they’ve advanced in the past 30 years.
You know, I sincerely want to see a maybe 20 minute short story played out by Phelous and Allison using bootleg toys. It would be the stupidest thing ever, but I still want to see it.

This bootleg Buzz kind of looks like a weird mix of the toy we all know and love and the "Lightyear" spinoff film version. Heck, could you imagine the real Woody and Buzz meeting all these bootleg versions of themselves? Well, aside from that one short with the little 'Happy Meal' Buzz.
Loved that ending bit with Ash capturing those knock-off toys btw.

I do remember an Ashens video about fake figures of Cap'n America, Hulk, R2D2 and Nemo coming in eggs. The Captain America and Hulk figures had an exact same transformation with the head flipping out from the chest part after you open it not unlike the Woody and Buzz figures in this video.
Speaking of Ashens, he did a short covering Ambiacle Hurculean and I immediately got flashbacks to the Phelous' video on said knockoff toyline.
Yeah, I think these might be from the same company. I hope Phelous gets the Marvel ones, those pieces of shit made Buzz and Woody look on-model and well-made.

Bandai actually made a line of Pixar egg transformers called Hatch N’ Heroes, so maybe this is a bootleg of that?
These don't appear to be direct castings or mould-copies of Bandai's toys. Bootleggers are known to make off-model "original" moulds using existing toys as reference, though.

"The Hollow Nightmare" sounds like a Tom Baker era Dr Who serial.
This was a loving tribute the Bootleggers did for Ralph Egg, the art director for Toy Story.

It occurred to me, when Buzz's chest is open, you could have a bootleg chestburster coming out of it.
Why do I kinda want to go to canada and pick up some bootleg garbage? I've never seen any interesting knock-offs where I live, and while I know these are probably super toxic with lead paint and weird plastic I can't help but love 'em!
You can find some of this type of crap in Dollar Tree and Dollar General as well, at least you could when I've looked around them before.

It's a little late, but this may help sometime in the future: using a blow dryer can help pull stickers off cleanly. The heat softens the glue making it easier to peel off and restick

I believe these are supposed to be bootlegs of the Hatchn’ Heroes toys of Woody and Buzz, which was basically Disney characters that could morph into folded up versions of themselves.
This is also why Dollar Stores always sells Off-Brand/Bootleg products.
So, I think I know where the egg gimmick came from. I recall another channel, Baltmatrix, reviewing several Japanese egg transforming toys from the same line that had both Godzilla & Pixar characters in them.
I think this Woody & Buzz are bootlegs of those figures.

Phelan and Allison need to get a hold of LOL Surprise dolls. They look like side show cupies but with Bratz style fishnet stockings and boots, and short skirt and halter top ho getups. It would be funny seeing them make fun of that line.
Fun fact: these are (or at least were) something that was a concept for official products made by Bandai, for Pixar movies and other stuff like Godzilla and Ultraman Kaiju. They were still pretty weird looking, although they were at least more accurate to the movies then the Woody figure here is

I have seen similar figures from Bandai. Ones that I happen to be familiar with are called Ultra Eggs as those are bunch of Ultramen and Ultraman monsters that turn into eggs.

So I agree that these are awful for the purposes of toy collection or even most childplay. However, these do seem perfect for what I call "stocking stuffer" toys. Things that are super cheap and just novel enough that I could see myself buying a bunch if I was hosting some kind of community egg hunt on Easter.
My theory is that they are sentient toys that are upset about being crappy knock-offs.

Good ol’ Great Canadian Dollar Store. Our former one sold fake Pokémon cards and when it was brought up to them they said it wasn’t their problem. A week later they had a sign up saying the cards were “not for legal tournament play.”
And the one near me still has old crap that has barely moved. Hell it's one of the only places I've seen that Foodfight storybook (And in a recent visit there, still have several copies in stock).

They're actually bootlegs of an official Takara Tomy transforming eggs series, they have the license for Star wars, toy story, cars, nemo and tokusatsu series like ultraman and even Godzilla. So, in the comparison portion I'd give them a 2/10. They're still garbage but even the original Takara one are hollow on the back.
