@ we actually went to Krakow together a few years ago, but before I had my channel sadly, so will be nice to repeat and see some other sights in lesser Poland 😊

Nice video. Fair play to the your parents. Relentless in their visiting of museums and day trips etc….. been to Wroclaw once about 12 years ago and didn’t do it properly, but older and wiser now so this might inspire me now to go back.

I had to go there like 6 times to see most of it, there are still a few small pieces I haven’t seen, but now I think I’ve done as much as I needed to 😛

6:00 I didn't even know there was such a museum. It is indeed the most important work of Polish literature. Translated into non-Slavic languages, it loses the charm associated with rhymes. Highly inflected and non-inflected languages like English generate a different poetry with different vibe regardless of its phonetic.

It’s high on my reading list! I have the Polish/English version where you can read the text side by side 😊

@@britinpoland2392 fun fact, Boleslaw Prus considered a man-institution, our most infuential columnist and creator of the greatest masterpiece written in prose opposed the erection of a monument to Adam Mickiewicz in Warsaw, because he believed that romanticism had a disastrous effect on Polish patriotism. now the monument to Boleslaw Prus is 200 meters away from that spot. both became points of reference in political debates years later, as they both practiced literary journalism in their own way. both were of noble origin

Appreciate the effort of yours to travel through history of ours and as you notice it is an understatement to say it is difficult. And greetings to your parents it was great to hear their point of view. Cheers!

Szkoda, że nie ma napisów. Pamiętaj, że starsi w Polsce kiedyś nie zawsze mieli w szkole angielski. I dlatego lepiej znam niemiecki.
Pozdrowienia dla rodziców. Czy zajmują się zawodowo historią czy mają takie zainteresowania. Sporo muzeów zwiedzili.:)))).

I waited and tuned in to your programme yeserday evening and saw it all. A very interesting piece of professionally produced film and it lasted more than just a few minutes as you suggested. Is Poland trying to be a country reaching out to the whole world like France does via France24? I wonder why Poland prefers English as an international medium over say, German, the power house of the E.U.? Personaly, I remember Poland just after communism fell around 1989/1990 and liked the former Poland more than the Poland of today. Then, you could travel freely without a visa and those dreaded currency exchange vouchers but Poland had a nice originality about it. Today, I find Poland too modern and slick for my liking, I prefered the Polish culture and pop groups of that era such as Manaam, Lady Punk and Budka Suflera!

Well English is the language of the EU, so I could see why it is used for their world channel, I think this channel though is little known in Poland itself and is more for international Poles…I hold out hope this program will move to a bigger channel here as it did nothing for my channel views in the end…it looked great but I didn’t agree with all of the edits they made…I may remake it in my style 😛
