I managed to snag one of these for $8,000 with a rebuilt trans, stage 2 clutch already in it with the 6 speed recently rebuilt. It needs the power steering fixed and the “overheat” warning which I believe the ground it had. She looks a little rough but she still has all her horsepower. Much love to the V1s
Hey i have a 05 silver with tan interior i got at 57k from Florida with only 3 owners in mint condition. Dope to see there are still mint v1s still around!
After a decade and 120,000 miles I sold my '05 CTS-V. It's probably been the best car I've bought in the last 50 years. I already had a jeep and motorcycle so I didn't need it and wanted to save the cost. It was very reliable except you should know you have to replace the soft motor mounts every 75,000 mile or so.
Hello Todd and Austin. Caught this one on my break. I will miss this car. What a gem of a car. I remember when you first introduced it to the channel. Thanks for recapping your memories and reviews of ownership. The next owner is getting even a better car, as you fixed it up a bit. Can't wait to see what comes next.
You should drive your C5 corvette daily in the winter and do a video on how it is. Anyone driving a Corvette in the winter must have some seriously dynamic and impressive driving skills, second to none.
My bad I forgot about the SRX. The viper was .8 different. However you could probably make it fit. But the offset on wheels is so different it would never work. I had no idea about the Montana
How do you get away with no front license plate, and what % window tint do you have? I'm having a 2006 shipped from FL with what looks like a 15 - 20% tint and no front plate or bracket. P.S., I live near Duluth (NW WI).
@@PerformanceOnWheels - and you didn't get a ticket for the tint or no license plate? Up here they even gave the UW Campus Cops arrest powers, running radar, etc. So we have the City, County, UW AND State Patrol on our backs. I'm going to get a plate bracket for the front and probably change my front window tints to 35 - 50% and hoping the fuzz stay away. Car should be here a week or two. I like the video.
Hope it's not to late and you drilled holes in your front bumper, here in Texas I'm also required front plate, I bought the OE bracket, flipped it upside down and used butterfly/ wing nuts to secure thru the bottom steel mesh, easy to go on and off, no holes. 2004 CTS V with a Magnuson supercharger, team dynamics motorsport forged aluminum wheels, borla exhaust, lingenfelter cold air, lingenfelter short shifter, good luck bud enjoy your V
@@kidgoku7570 - It is too late! I installed a factory bracket back in May. Love the car, though, except I needed to replace the harmonic balancer. Yours sounds awesome.
Hated my V1, i love my V2. The V1 is awesome but it rattles, electrical nightmare, terrible rear end, control arms, shifter, cooling system. I sold it and still smile when i think about that POS being gone. It's also a turd compared to my V2.
Hey Sir! This is Cherry from Coverado selling car accessories. Nice to meet you! We are now looking for some partners to try our seat covers. Are you interested in collaborating with us?😊
@@PerformanceOnWheels nothing at all I’m glad you are having fun but I’ve been doing them since before I had a license or car. So I figured someone with considerably less experience than me and making a video with family might not be the most stimulating or informative video for me to watch……again I’m glad you are having fun and all that but that’s my reason since you asked……….do you have another cool car after you got rid of the V?
I do them all the time in winter, but in summer when I have to buy performance tires and I’m in a car that’s known to have its rear differential explode when sliding & doing burnouts I would never want to risk $600 worth of back tires and a $5,000 rear diff. I bought a corvette Z06, I go thru that in the video. I have rebuilt it from the ground up doing tons of track and autocross events. I also now have a supercharged Miata
@@PerformanceOnWheels I have an 05 V that I do donuts in all the time…you can do donuts and not break the dif but if you leave rubber in a straight line they break…I have 2 friends that broke their V1 leaving rubber in a straight line but I run through tires doing donuts and have no trouble.
@Sh1tzboutagodown I was pretty much just always told if they slide at all they are at right risk to snap in 2. It was a super fun car, looking to see if I can find another one again soon here to daily drive.

Im literally in the process of buying a 2004 with 80thousand on the clock. Beyond excited

I had an 03 with the 3.2l, 5 speed manual. Owned it for 6 years, never had a problem. Traded it in for a 2012 cts awd.
Just picked up an 05' with 42k miles, one owner. Am excited to keep it for a while
It will be a great car for you!

It will be missed, I'm sure the new owner will absolutely love it! Driving 8 hours Friday night to go pick up it's replacement!
@@PerformanceOnWheels I 110% agree with that. Safe travels to grab the new
@@AlexBAlixir98 Thanks Alex!
Single best car I ever owner. Regret selling it so much I'm looking for another one as we speak.
Found one in Memphis for 23k with only 9,000 miles. Hoping everything goes good!
Wow! That's a good deal for those miles! Enjoy it!!!

We get it Cody. You drive a c6 thru winter
Yeah fr we get it cody
that rear lip spoiler brings the whole look together real nice
I agree, big fan of that little wing
Also so the SRX and The Viper had the same bolt pattern, and GM used the same on the Montana as well.
My bad I forgot about the SRX. The viper was .8 different. However you could probably make it fit. But the offset on wheels is so different it would never work. I had no idea about the Montana
Where did you get the steering wheel for this V ?
Send a message to this guy on Facebook. He is the guy I bought mine thru

I've had my 04 CTS 3.6 since 07. Its up to 300,000 miles n still flowing.❤
Yeah not the v exactly
Worth buying one at 128,000 you think? 04 3.6

Just never got pulled over for it 🤷♀️. I bought the car with the tint, got pulled over once if my memory is correct the tint meter said 13%
