    • @neyenteen

      @@biggxtana6143 P0174 indicates a lean on bank 2 meaning un-metered air is getting into the bank. P0174 is mostly common with vacuum leaks. if you’re engine is having trouble starting up p0174 could contribute but there will most likely be other factors contributing if you’re car isn’t turning on.

    Another cause can be a vacuum hose leaks under the hood which is sometimes easy to find. And sometimes difficult to find. Search for soft, worn, loose hoses. Wiggle and slightly tug vacuum hoses and listen for air leaks. there is also a smoke test method to find leaks or simply replace all hose associated with vacuum as a last resort. Another cause may be the MAP mass air pressure sensor defect. Clean with proper spray. If no results replace.I learned this through experience.

    I had both P0171 and P0174 and CEL on my 2008 Nissan Frontier SE V6 4.0L. One obd said Bank 1 fuel injectors were dirty and a different OBD2 said Bank 2 injectors were dirty. I had just had a new valve cover and gaskets replaced and an oil changed. I put in a new MAF and Bank 2 upstream 02 sensor. Nothing fixed the codes. I hooked up my smoke machine and no leaks anywhere. So, since I already had one on hand, I replaced the PVC valve. The old one didn’t rattle when I shook it which told me it was full of sludge and not functioning. The new one rattled so I put it in and started my truck. All codes on both OBD2’s that have me codes earlier were clean and all codes disappeared and the truck runs perfectly. I say be for you do anything check the PVC Valve which is easy to access and replace. The cost of the PVC was maybe $5 at the very most.

    Thank-you - this worked for me!
    The physical location/configuration, where the MAF is located is different on my 2011 Avalanche. It is directly in the front on the air intake hose (on the left facing truck), mounted onto & into the hose, and very visible when just opening the hood. Also, the device itself looked a bit different - it had 2 of what looked like horizontal wires in different spaces, like a 'H' would have one above and below the horizontal line. One of them had what looked like a spider web on it that came off when sprayed vigorously.
    And just a heads up, my son-in-law was helping and there was some confusion because there is a MAF sensor and also a MAP sensor - 2 different devices. We were getting codes PO106, PO171, PO174. I've driven it a couple of times since and it is completely different now, - no misfires or messages about the stabilitrak messages, etc. & no new codes.

    Hi Steve I have a 1998 Chevy Express Van that was sitting for about a year. No rats or anything got into it. I fixed her up, rebuilt transmission and she drives fine but usually after I pump gas and fill up over half the tank I start getting the P0171 and P0174 codes. Also the gas gauge needle is always vibrating unlike the other needles that you can see clearly like the temp, battery and oil pressure.

    • @arturohernandez2313
      @arturohernandez2313 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I say all this because I think it’s the fuel filter/pump. She never had the CEL on when I drove her before she broke down on me. Lmk what you think.

    Hi, this issue popped up recently in my vehicle. I checked the engine air filter and it was very dirty. I replaced that and then reset the code using my OBD scanner and now there is not warning light. But I did use Berryman Chemtool fuel additive to clean out the injectors or whatnot as it has 60,000 miles on it. Do you think that could have triggered the code? Plus I could not find a CRC MAF cleaner anywhere as it is out of stock. I plan to clean the MAF sensor as well.

    • @nondainc
      @nondainc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello, a dirty filter could cause a low fuel pressure. it's a good idea to clean it as well as the MAF sensor. These usually fix the issue. We recommend cleaning it using a break cleaner or electronic cleaner. Please also ensure checking the intake manifold and vacuum lines for leaks.

      @BWADaniel ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure how yours is designed but in my 2007 Chrysler 300c, it’s at the rear of the intake manifold. Some cars have it built into the Air Intake piping itself like my 2010 Chevy Avalanche. So look somewhere on the intake piping, or check on the intake manifold itself.
