I love how you show that the first print doesn't have enough definition, then show how you improve it on the second print. Such an important part of the artistic process for my students to see.
So I like to lay thin paper on top of a collage (like you have made - I use rice paper), then brayer over with printing ink of various colors and various sized brayers. IS that considered a collagraph?

Presumably you could use Gel Medium or PVA glue instead of varnish
