This could be the best sounding guitar you have played on your channel or at least in the top few. The strumming sound and the single note sounds are perfect to my ears. Your playing is perfect for the demo. Kudos for your content. You've made this my dream guitar to own.
What a beautiful guitar. Did you also get a chance to play the rosewood one? I'm highly considering getting one but I'm not sure if adirondack spruce fits my playing style as I don't flatpick much, I mainly play soft fingerstyle. Do you think a sitka spruce top or even cedar would fit my playing better?
@@paperwings8673 this guitar is braced very lightly with scalloped bracing so it can take lovely fingerstyle playing and also hard playing due the adirondack top it’s the way the top are tapered at the 2 inches of the perimeter of the tops which makes it responsive plus also the tops can take a beating so not to worry
I purchased one. Fantastic. I would like to install a pickup (K&K Mini) but the end pin seems to be glued. When you installed the pickup how did you remove the end pin? Thanks, and love your reviews. Doug
@@douglasb99 i cut the drill a hole from small to large and then ream drill it to size .. have to be careful with this. I’ve done many of this with collings and yamahas non pickup guitars from japan
Thank you so much. Were you able to remove the end pin first or did you have to drill through it? I’d use your services but you’re literally on the opposite side of the globe! 😊 Appreciate your reviews. Doug
The only way adirondack spruce makes sense to me is on a smaller body with mahogany. I debated between this guitar and the yairi FYM60HD which is very similar. I ended up going with the YAIRI, but I don't think you can go wrong with his guitar.
Amazing Guitar. Just a question, was it bass heavy like FG9. Could you do a comparison using it with likewise small size guitars so we can appreciate e difference. Seems to be more resonant than other similar sized guitars
This Yamaha has a lovely clear crisp sound. My Hsienmo OM is sinker redwood/ziricote and is a powerhouse. To my ear the Hsienmo is fuller and more powerful with clean definition. At half the price of the Yamaha.
Yamaha is really in a class by themselves these days. The engineering group at Yamaha keeps pushing the envelope. I have an LS6 that for me works great for, but this is a steller instrument.

Nice review Jarvis. I agree it will be interesting to see how the Yamaha 9's age and open up more.
We shall see
Yamaha nails it again and again!! What a beautiful guitar
@@AC-rg5vl they sure did and in person the guitar looks like a piece on intricate art

The Martin is in a different class. It sounds much more articulate and composed.
