I think he still is figuring out if he can commit to someone in an institution like marriage which means in a way he does think of marriage as an important step of one’s life and he knows his need for space too because that how he functions as a human rn. Shahrukh Khan once said, be rich first and then be a philosopher. Now that Nikhil has earned enough and freed him self from the financial insecurities that a normal human would deal with at every stage of life, his decision to remain single is coming from a very holistic place. Also, there are lot of cases that we all know where partners and/or kids have been the driving force for an individual to go against their comfort zone and have achieved success, or at least it gives a reason to wake up in the morning and go to work to fend for their beloved family, this gives meaning to their actions and to their lives, also gives a sense of vitality which is anti-dote to depression. Both ideologies are great but one has to be brutally honest with oneself and radically accept the outcome they might receive from the choice they made and have lots of patience to see the fruits. As he is influenced by Kiran Majumdar, who is also a well-known philanthropist, Nikhil, one-day is likely to become one himself. This is what Indian sages/scriptures have said. If you don't have your own family or child, treat your surroundings/neighborhood/state/country or society at large as your own and spend your time and other resources for their well being. This seems the only way for one to maintain one's sanity otherwise one might keep over-analyzing and spending on therapist to deal with existential crisis or they may start exhibiting their narcissistic traits buried deep within their sub-conscious.

I do agree with Nikhil Kamath on his view point of marriages, but personally for me I feel like attachments are scary and to add on that people really don't care, one misunderstanding or a differences would make them forget you completely even though the other has realised their mistake there's no going back, so why should we risk ourselves in getting into serious relationship with anyone when people can forget your existence so easily, relationships are nothing but a burden.

In my 40's. LOVE kids when they are a happy curious lot. BUT u cant assume you will get that sunny bright kid. People copy cat too much rather than find what individually works for them. Everyone does not have similar interests. And even if there is a common ground ..their appetite and passion levels will vary. Basically, lifes meaning is not a formula like a protein shake powder you can get out of a jar....shaken in a jar with water and served! Its a very emotionally demanding job to be a dedicated parent. Its not fun or glamorous unlike they show in marketing ads
