You can access this location by googling ‘Thooval Waterfalls’, Nedumkandam. (Idukki district, Kerala)
The road to access the top of the waterfalls is easy to access but be warned, the parking area is not favourable. There is a small shop on the main road for refreshments but it was closed on a Sunday. Also, the road to reach the location is narrow. Keep that in mind.
You can choose to stay at any of the home stays of your choice in nedumkandam.
It’s a 4 hour drive from ernakulam but can increase if there’s traffic.
Since it’s not a touristy place, certain facilities you find in commercialised spots are missing, like toilets etc.
Perfect for just a day trip.

I was on my way to Thooval waterfalls, a hidden gem nestled deep within the Western Ghats. I didn't need much - just the open road. The journey was just as much an adventure as the destination itself. Every twist and turn was a new discovery, a burst of color or a whispering breeze in the trees. As we drove, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer beauty of it all. The world felt raw and untamed, yet harmonious and complete. It was a reminder of the power and majesty of creation, a testament to the simple yet profound beauty of God's design. And as I approached the waterfalls, I knew this wasn't just a trip; But, a return to the simplicity and wonder that lay at the heart of life.
Nestled amidst the lush Western Ghats in the picturesque town of Nedumkandam, Thooval Waterfalls cascades down a towering rocky cliff, creating a breathtaking spectacle.
The journey to Thooval begins with a scenic drive through winding roads surrounded by verdant forests. As you approach the waterfall, the mesmerizing sound of gushing water fills the air. A short walk through a lush green trail leads to the falls.
