Where did you get your food, man? I'm from Lima and it hurts to hear that our food is bland. I assume you went to terrible restaurants or inns with no proper cooks. Yeah, we usually have rice as a side dish, but if your plate only has rice, chips and a piece of meat, that's often from a very poor household or very cheap (and lazy) restaurant. There are dozens of dishes I can name you can enjoy in a decent restaurant here. Try Tallarines Rojos con Pollo, Tallarines Verdes con Milanesa/Bisteck, Chancho con frejoles, Tacu Tacu, Estofado, Lomo Saltado, Caigua Rellena, Rocoto Relleno, and so on. If you're near the Coast, order Ceviche de Pescado or Ceviche Mixto (if you're not allergic to seafood), Chicharrón (de Pescado or Mixto) is another great choice; there's also Arroz con Mariscos and Conchas Negras too. I hope you can enjoy better food here in Peru. Good trip!

You are totally wrong about the food in Peru. Peru's landscape produces world-class ingredients.
It's a shame that you haven't tried Lomo saltado, Peruvian ceviche, pollo a la brasa with its sauces, chifa, food from the north, or soups that are heavenly.
I have been to South East Asia, India, France, Mexico, they have good food, but Peru has nothing to envy. Having Peru so many dishes Eating pizza, spaghetti with pesto when visiting Peru is a missed opportunity to discover one of the best cuisines in the world

@@Escape_With_Us_Official I have to agree with you. My wife and I spent four months in South America back in 2000, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. We had a fantastic experience but the food was diabolically bland. We couldn't figure out the rice and chips on the same plate either. I even lost 8kg over the four months! We had just spent three months in India before we got there though which didn't help the cause of South American food.
Just finishing up this series, Thanks so much it's been an entertaining watch.

      They were extremely different places.
Obviously Indian food is pretty much unbeatable.
