She is currently 14 (13 at the time of this recording) - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos. - *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage n the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person. - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need. - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 120 songs (from over 65 different artists) in the last 6 years She always selects and arranges the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker, and many more. All of which were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written three of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". She has been singing publicly since the age of 7. The first video of her singing in a recording studio was at the age of 6. And, take this aboard. Believe me, there is no other singer like her. Simon Cowell remarked he had never heard this version before, and he was right because Angelina rewrote it for the performance. She took the words of the lyrics she wished to use and then rearranged them, and then rearranged the music, until she was sure that both truly reflected what she wanted to achieve in her performance. I found it hauntingly beautiful. I am delighted that you have discovered the most versatile singer living today. I believe, if I’m remembering correctly, her grandmother did this painting earlier in life and transferred for her and Angelina to make this outfit! Angelina is very articulate, including arranging, writing her own music and lyrics and plays an array of instruments.

You have stumbled on to the most amazing vocal artist, songwriter, song arranger & humanitarian I have seen in my long life. Everything she touches turns to gold. Her ability to express the emotions of the lyrics of a song is unmatched. She gives me goosebumps & makes me cry all the time & her voice is highly addicting. Since I discovered her 2 1/2 years ago, I haven't missed a day without listening to her, sometimes for many hours at a time. This is not normal & it has never happened to me before, I just can't explain it. I don't know how you reactors can control yourself, when I first discovered her I couldn't stop listening to her videos for about 6 hours. The next day I picked up where I left off & so on & on & on. Thank you for this nice reaction to Angelina. This was definitely not my first time hearing Angelina. My first time was early in 2014 as she, 7 years old, steped on to the stage of "Norwegian Talents" (NGT) and did her audition for the competition, singing a cover of Billie Holiday`s version of "Glomy Sunday". That was a major shock to me, and blew my mind. You realy need to listen to her performances from the NGT. And ever since she has made big big impact to my love and life with music. I`m no musician, but I love music. There will be tears and big big smiles as you go on getting to know this "one of a kind" musical talent. She IS music, as one of the NGT judges said, after her very first audition, still only 7 years old. :-)
Can't really say more about Angelina than Rusty Shackleford said. Angelina is a miracle in music, and destined to be a star remembered for generations to come. There simply is no doubt. You asked about arrangements, and the answer is Angelina does her own when she covers a song with her own music, or when she does an original. If she is using the original music in her cover, she will stay very close to the original, but with subtleties in phasing and that will make it hers. At any age, Angelina was a"pro" so just pick out anything in Rusty's song list and you'll be always amazed.

That's the reaction many people have when they listen to Angelina :) Not only did she arrange the song herself, but she also designed her outfit, using one of her grandma's paintings as the pattern! I totally agree. I have seen all the fuzz about Dimash, Diana and Chenyu, to mention a few, but while Dimash is technically perfect, none of them made me feel like Angelina does. She drags us into somewhere and only releases us after she finishes singing. :)

When Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was young, he played the piano pretty well and wrote some nice music (LOL), but did he create beautiful paintings, perform barefoot in public or mesmerize the world on America’s Got Talent? The last vocalist I ever saw make people cry was Jackie Evancho, and it helped her being only 10 years of age at the time. The two solo performances by Angelina on AGT were unquestionably the BEST VOCALS EVER on an AGT show, any talent show in fact. Her "California Dreaming" is as gorgeous as these, and she has a body of work 99.9999% of Senior performers could only wish to achieve in a Lifetime, yet s only 14 years of age, but is getting better, and better, and better every performance.

- Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 14 (13 at the time of this recording)
- She began singing at the age of one and a half
- At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos.
- *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help.
Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage n the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person.
- She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the show at just 8 years old.
- In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes"
- When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need.
- The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney.
- Angelina has covered more than 120 songs (from over 65 different artists) in the last 6 years She always selects and arranges the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else)
- Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker, and many more. All of which were blown away by her talent.
- Angelina has written three of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube)
In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

She has been singing publicly since the age of 7. The first video of her singing in a recording studio was at the age of 6. And, take this aboard. Believe me, there is no other singer like her.
Simon Cowell remarked he had never heard this version before, and he was right because Angelina rewrote it for the performance. She took the words of the lyrics she wished to use and then rearranged them, and then rearranged the music, until she was sure that both truly reflected what she wanted to achieve in her performance. I found it hauntingly beautiful.
I am delighted that you have discovered the most versatile singer living today. Listening to Angelina perform is an emotional experience in itself. In an imaginative moment I likened Angelina to a chameleon, inasmuch as a chameleon adapts its colour to blend with the surroundings, so Angelina adapts the "colour" of her voice to convey the emotions of the song and communicate those emotions to the listener.
In the six years she has been singing publicly she has covered Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Lana del Ray, Gloria Gaynor, Elvis Priestly, Louis Armstrong and many others. She takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. She never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". You have stumbled on to the most amazing vocal artist, songwriter, song arranger & humanitarian I have seen in my long life. Everything she touches turns to gold. Her ability to express the emotions of the lyrics of a song is unmatched. She gives me goosebumps & makes me cry all the time & her voice is highly addicting. Since I discovered her 2 1/2 years ago, I haven't missed a day without listening to her, sometimes for many hours at a time. This is not normal & it has never happened to me before, I just can't explain it. I don't know how you reactors can control yourself, when I first discovered her I couldn't stop listening to her videos for about 6 hours. The next day I picked up where I left off & so on & on & on. Thank you for this nice reaction to Angelina. This was definitely not my first time hearing Angelina. My first time was early in 2014 as she, 7 years old, steped on to the stage of "Norwegian Talents" (NGT) and did her audition for the competition, singing a cover of Billie Holiday`s version of "Glomy Sunday". That was a major shock to me, and blew my mind. You realy need to listen to her performances from the NGT. And ever since she has made big big impact to my love and life with music. I`m no musician, but I love music. There will be tears and big big smiles as you go on getting to know this "one of a kind" musical talent. She IS music, as one of the NGT judges said, after her very first audition, still only 7 years old. :-)
Can't really say more about Angelina than Rusty Shackleford said. Angelina is a miracle in music, and destined to be a star remembered for generations to come. There simply is no doubt. You asked about arrangements, and the answer is Angelina does her own when she covers a song with her own music, or when she does an original. If she is using the original music in her cover, she will stay very close to the original, but with subtleties in phasing and that will make it hers. At any age, Angelina was a"pro" so just pick out anything in Rusty's song list and you'll be always amazed.

I totally agree. I have seen all the fuzz about Dimash, Diana and Chenyu, to mention a few, but while Dimash is technically perfect, none of them made me feel like Angelina does. She drags us into somewhere and only releases us after she finishes singing. :)

I still remember that I was shocked in a positive way, and I have ever since that time been a fan. A fan of a child. I wouldn't believed it if you had asked me 10 years ago.

The last vocalist I ever saw make people cry was Jackie Evancho, and it helped her being only 10 years of age at the time. The two solo performances by Angelina on AGT were unquestionably the BEST VOCALS EVER on an AGT show, any talent show in fact. Her "California Dreaming" is as gorgeous as these, and she has a body of work 99.9999% of Senior performers could only wish to achieve in a Lifetime, yet s only 14 years of age, but is getting better, and better, and better every performance.
