Hello from Sydney Australia! Thank you for your Serger Mastery Series for the Bernina L890; I've viewed episodes one and two; I'm very appreciative. I bought a Bernina L890 a couple of days ago. It will be a few days before it's delivered. I'm fairly new to serging, I've made three t-shirts, a headband, and a serger cover. It was only a few months ago, that I decided I would like to buy a serger, so I bought a Singer 14SH654 which has proved to be a good level to start. It has been very reliable. I'm reasonably comfortable with the Singer machine and have learned a lot including the fact that there are more sophisticated machines out there in the sewing world; (the prices are shocking). Anyway, I've taken the plunge and bought Bernina L890 I wanted to tell you how I loved your interaction with each other, and your approach to teaching and learning the machine. Your step by step process has set me up to start sewing the minute the machine is out of the box. Thank you! 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hi. I just bought the 860 Serger. It’s the model below the 890 but without the cover stitch. I have a cover st. Machine. My machine is brand new, stillhs a tag attached. It has less than 1 hr of use. Priror to this I owned the Baby Lock serger since the early 2990’s. Probably the original air threader. Never was in for repairs, lost a part therefore I decided to buy a computer machine. The darn 860 has locked up. It opens with three screens endingwithte four st overlock and stops. I cannot get it to unstick. I cannot find anywhere, and I’ve looked on the internet, the manual, to find how to get it going. The manual shows a page to reset the machine, but Ican’t get to ANY page. No info on the internet AT ALL. No help. Yes, my local dealer is going to look at it, but i am in the middle of a project and have to wait? It’s the week end. I’ve owned many sewing, serger machines in my 60 years of sewing-teaching sewing, but NEVER had a machine conk out on me like this VERY expensive serger. I’m new to Berninia, did I get a Lemon? The lack of internet support is sad. I like Bernina Joe. He’s very good. I’ll double check, but I didn’t see a problem solving video for the L860. I’ve never had a serger sit due to inability to thread, but nownI’ve had a serger sit because it quit operating. Very disappointing. A very expensive problem. BTW my 860 looks just like this 890. ‘Play with it, you’re not going to break it”. Hummmmm. It breaks on its own. I’ll check back to this comment page to see if Bernina responds.
Hi, i see there is no reply . I read Berninais no longer made in Switzerland, but in Thailand. That might be the reason there is no one with a solution to my problem. Willl checkback again. Hope us Eternal.
Hi Miri, I'm not sure how to help you without seeing the machine either via video chat or in person. Not sure where you are? I can assure you that you did not 'break' it, and it is not 'broken'. It sounds like you simply locked your screen. This happens when the touch screen gets too much input so it freezes itself until it is reset. I've not had to reset a serger yet, so I can't tell you which buttons to hold while you power it on. I know which ones on the longarm and which ones on the domestic machines. It should be in the troubleshooting section in your manual, though. It is a simple process-you simply hold a particular button in while you power the machine on and then a calibration screen where you touch the points indicated to reset it. Hope that helps? BTW-the Q series and the 800 series are made in Switzerland, the other domestic machines and L8 series sergers are made in a BERNINA owned and operated factory in Thailand. All BERNINA employees, no matter where they are made.
thanks for the video...enjoy you two! One question...I clicked the link above for the document/workbook and most of it either has a triangle w/? (especially the page numbers with what I assume is the topic w/page #). I've never had any other document openings do that...can someone explain why/what happened and if this was in error in the initial posting and/or how to get pages complete as intended? It's like the document has had a ton redacted...
Howdy! Most of the download problems have been with folks using a Mac. I uploaded from a PC. Most PC people have no issues. If you have a PC, it could be a security setting preventing 'potentially dangerous' downloads from non secure sites. (Which candidly, TH-cam is.) Try downloading it directly from the BERNINAUSA.com website......it's there, too.....and I think that site has better security ratings.
Quilting In The Valley thank you…I have a PC and iPad (don’t remember now which I was using at the time…I think PC…will try again). Enjoy you two (but find woman working in background a BIG distraction!) 🥴

@@rebeccaturner3906 I know......we don't have the benefit of a dedicated studio, so we have to make do with a corner in a quilt shop!
I would like to read the book but that was not possible after I dowloaded it.
What happened?? Did it change format during the download?
The formatting is really off and pictures are not showing in a lot of places.
Are there any links to get it elsewhere?
