Ya know, that was a good call on making that stripped border of different widths. That way you didn’t have to make it come out the exact width of the panel. Ima remember that!
You chose some fabric with beautiful, Spring-like colors for both but I think I like the piano key one the best. I think that was a great idea for a border!!
I’m currently working on a quilt and realized my backing was just short of being wide enough. I was stumped Bc I didn’t want to buy more fabric. You putting that strip on the back.. genius! I actually have some coordinating fabric left that I can use! Problem solved! Thank you!! Love watching you. I should also let you know I only started quilting in August of 2021. So learning as I go lol
This is so inspiring. I too, have a few panels. Now I can get started on them thanks to this video you made. Your the greatest. Oh and Oliver is so sweet. My black, & white fluffy cat insists if Oliver can be your assistant, then my cat Smokey is going to be mine. I told him we can sew together but absolutely no chocolate for Smokey. ( not cause it's bad for cat's, but cause I'm selfish) Mine all Mine. lol.
Both are nice; but, I like the one with the long piano keys best. I'm in a rut also. Today I just sat at my sewing machine and did mindless pieceing wih scraps. It is a little like putting a puzzle together without knowing what the out come will be. I find it relaxing and fun. I wonder if finishing some of my UFOs would make me happy? It will not stop raining. I need to work in my gardens and mow the yard.
I love that you do that ... I bet it takes up alot of PROJECTS off your table .. finishing un-finished projects .. there is an idea for thought ... LOL April

Hi April, I really enjoy your videos. Have you done a child's quilt that has "busy stuff" like squares with pockets that have fasteners (button and buttonhole, snaps, laces, hooks, zips, etc)? I can't figure out how to avoid the "swallowing hazard" .
No .. I haven't done one of those yet.. but would love to attempt it for my youngest granddaughter .. I will have to look into that more and see what I can come up with thanks for the idea...APRIL
My friend just had twin boys, so I made twin quilts. Used the same panel for both but used different color fabric for borders. Send you a picture but don’t think I can here….
I’m going to be a nana again!!! My daughter and her husband FaceTime us on Sunday to announce that she is pregnant. This is not our first grandchild. His son has three daughters and my son has a stepson. I’m in a pickle. I want to make a gender neutral baby blanket with a botanical theme. They both have careers in the same floral nursery. Dad is a professional landscaper and mom takes care of the live plants. I thought a botanical themed blanket would fit in for boy or girl. Do you have any idea where I can find fabric/panel? I’m going to keep it simple. The baby will be due late November to early December so I want it cozy. What is the best batting?

I don't do quilts per say but I do have a sewing block with sewing or there are days it's not my day to sew

I find the green border is fighting with the panel...it´s too bolt, it takes the focus away from the panel
