Thank you for making this. I had January 10, 2017 so I am at my 4 month mark. I really wish I had known about all of this to watch and have an idea of what I was dealing with. I was actually admitted after having a stroke the night of January 3rd. I woke up an couldn't move my right side at all. Thank God I had an amazing nuero team and the most amazing surgeon. I was admitted Jan. 3 and came home on Jan. 12th. The only side effect that I have from the stroke is my right hand is slightly curled, but funtional for the most part. I am glad to hear you are doing so well! Best wishes to you
Glad to hear you are doing well my daughter was diagnosed on july 31st and had indirect bypass on both sides on November 11th 2013 she had a rough recovery had three seizures, and issues with her blood pressure but made it through. Hearing others stories always warms my heart and gives me hope for a brighter and healthier future for her. XXX
I just want to thank you for doing the moya moya dairies. My daughter was diagnosed with moya moya. After seeing your dairies I felt a lot better. You gave me courage to be stronger and positive as I travel this journey with my daughter. Hope your doing well. Thank You.
Thanks Katie,,just got diagnosed with MM after a really weird headache,,went to the er for 6 days and luckily the doc said I caught it early, after a second visit because my left arm got num I went back which was two weeks ago. They said my brain needed to absorb the blood.Scared of the surgery and hoping for the best. Doctors visit in a few days to schedule surgery. Probably shouldn’t of watched the open brain MM surgery through a microscope opening the skull and then the screws to reattach it. I’m concerned about the pain after surgery but I’ve had Kidney stones B4 so this shouldn’t be as bad. Thanks for your feedback or other UTUBERS who can share the pain factor right after Surgery And what to expect. Anybody from San Antonio,Tx With Mm ? Lmk !
Hi GG :) Thank you for sharing your story. I was really scared going into surgery too, but watching a surgery similar to mine on TH-cam made me feel better. I didn’t think the pain following surgery was that terrible - I was discharged with oxycodone 5 mg but only took it as needed for the first two weeks. After that, I just took Tylenol. It’s been over 6 years since my surgery and I feel pretty great. The symptoms I had on the right side of my body (numbness, tingling, muscle weakness) have drastically reduced and I’ve never experienced symptoms on my left side (although my past l imaging does show Moyamoya on the right side of my brain). Lots of positive vibes being sent your way!! Good luck!! Let me know how things go!! -Katie
Glad that things are going well and congratulations on going to PA school! We are "evangelizing" your videos to anyone who will listen and certainly to anyone whose response to the word "moyamoya" is "WTF is moyamoya?". Again -- thanks. This is a TREMENDOUS public service you've done here.
I actually feel pretty great 6+ years following surgery. My symptoms are pretty infrequent - maybe my right hand or a finger on my hand will go numb 2-3 times per year unless I’m working out, when it may happen more often. But it always resolves quickly - within a minute or two. And I’ve only had about 3 migraines since my surgery, too. Overall - success! :)
Good morning mam I'm from india Now I'm confident for surgery pls suggest me your hospital and surgen name pls tell me how much money for surgery and post surgery treatment
