I got this game for Christmas and this really helped! I tried a play last night, and your video showed how I shorted mysrlf on dice several times! I should have better luck next time - thanks!

Thanks for this, Dale. I tried my best to read the rules but I just went cross eyed. It's a very different game to what I'm used to, but now at least I understand how to play it. +1.

Good playthrough, 2 quick things: 1 you have to use your heroic feat before rolling dice and 2 you only have 10 total checkmark on standard difficulty

@@TheVlad1616 I still have Roll Player and this ... both are fun dice chucking games, but this one is pocket sized. :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer this game is beyond frustrating difficulty wise. I like most everything about this game except for how absurdly hard it is without dropping difficulty drastically. I’ve come “close” to defeating dragon a couple of times. I’ve never come close to leveling up as fast as you did on this video, much less doing it with that many dice.

One of my favorite solo games. Used to pack this one with me when I'd travel for work.

It's a fun little game giving you a dungeon crawl that levels your character up quickly and a lot of dice manipulation. Well worth playing. :)
Dale, great video! I love deck dungeon. I been playing Marvel Champions and One deck dungeon lately (my two favorite solo games). Your videos on champions is always fun to watch. Keep up the great work!

Nice playthrough, the only mistake I saw was fighting the bandit @ 31min making heroic dice with only 2 instead of 3.

Hey Dale... This is a great solo game. It’s the first game I got when I started solo board gaming. I’ve been through the campaign for the original ODD. I have the the other iteration... something “shadows” I think but I haven’t played it yet. A deck of cards and some dice... doesn’t take much really to make a great game.
For such a small game, it does feel like a dungeon crawl and leveling up your character is a lot of fun! A really great little game!! :)

It has been quite a while since I played ODD and you wetter my appetite.
It is easy to forget the rules of a game if not played on a regular basis.
I have the expansion but never played it.

Thanks. Up to now, I rarely survived to even get to the boss. Watching you play helps me understand where I went wrong.
Question concerning the challenges. In my rulebook (in french in my case), it says that you have to cover the ones with the shield on it first. You cannot cover any other challenge otherwise. Is it a translation mistake ?
I saw another thing at the end for the campaign checklist. As far as I understand, you should get a mark for each level-up, making it a maximum of 3 considering you start at level 1. What do you think ?
@Vinz45 Thanks for watching! A couple of good catches. The shields do need to be covered, and the rules do state first. Ultimately first or last, all shields just need to be covered before resolving the card. I just cover areas as my "thinking process", sorry for the confusion. And you are correct on the math check, I gave myself one too many checks on leveling up. :)

For the Ogre encounter, how come you didn't flee? Seems like you knew you weren't gonna win before the fight started. Thanks for this video though, really helped me understand the game

at 10:00 you didn't place a dice on the green shield on the encounter card :) just kind of an fyi thing, doesn't really matter at this point lol

I realized there were a couple more mistakes and I almost deleted the comment as there was no need to be like that because you mentioned in the description there may be mistakes. And hey, it's okay! We're all imperfect. I watched your video to get a better grip on how each turn went and I think I got it now. Thanks for uploading! Again I wasn't out to take a dig at you or anything. Just thought maybe it could help us both remember moving forward!
@Laura Life No problem at all! I play lots of different games, so I'm a "Jack of all Games, and a master of none." Hence the self titled "casual gamer". While I try to get the rules right, I teach fun first. :)

Ok I’m going to have to get this one I think. Between this and the Tiny Epic series which one do you like better?
@Michael Wages I really enjoy to ease of play and just chucking dice in One Deck Dungeon. I've only played a couple Tiny Epic games, and so far, none have really resonated with me. I'm hoping that changes with the Tiny Epic Dungeons. :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer I agree 110% with you on the ease. I ordered this game as soon as I finished watching the video last night but I can't pull the trigger on any of the Tiny Epic stuff because it just doesn't feel right from what I've seen.
