Finally! A fellow car/truck guy who loves loud exhausts but feels guilty sometimes for it being so loud! I love my loud cars, and I have a 2014 5.0 Mustang that’s really loud but I try my best not to be a nuisance to my neighbors! I see so many people on TH-cam/Tik Tok who go out of their way to annoy people or piss off their neighbors and I’m just like why? Idk, but either way your truck is beautiful man. I want a 4 door GMT800 truck but they’re all so expensive.
Sounds great. Try a single in/dual out Borla ProXS muffler when you’re ready to throw a muffler on it. I’ve ran about a dozen mufflers with my longtubes and the ProXs sounds the best to me. Just the right amount of rasp, tone, and volume with a just a hint of that deep rumble.
I freaking love my 03 Chevy 1500 with the 5.3. I’ve got straight piped true duals no headers (yet) love your builds and content man! You get my head spinning on ideas! I am a more reverse leveled lover though!
This guy convinced me just put true dual straights on my 05 hemi, exhaust shop said doing this will be ignorant (only decent shop around) but it’s done and stupid happy sounds so good real loud
I just put these headers and ypipe on my 2000 gmc sierra and surprisingly got almost all the manifold bolts out without breaking them.Only used WD40 over a course of a couple weeks and they came out easily except for the very back bolts on each side they were already broke.
X pipe, with corsa universal mufflers, nothing like corsa. I have them on my 2013 6.2 and it’s cammed and gosh it’s heaven. Sounds like a camero almost.
I had catless Y pipe straight duals on a 2004 Silverado and it was actually far more choppy and aggressive down low than this setup. It was too obnoxious and put a Flowmaster 40 on two weeks later. It’s been running that same setup for the last 7 years now. Yours sounds a lot tamer and cleaner, I’d be tempted to leave it for awhile. 👍
A X pipe is actually going to up your horsepower for a better top end. A shop teacher showed me this in school versus a y pipe h pipe and straight pipe.
Very minimal with this type of engine and other factors..... I have seen a y pipe make more than an x pipe on a mclaren but then I have seen mustangs that gain 15hp from an x pipe over an h pipe I just depends
I'd go the route that I'm currently taking on my 01 Silverado. Custom 2.5 inch exhaust from my shorty Gibson headers (CA Legal), 2ea high flow Headman CAT's, 2.5in "X" pipe, 2.5in pipe to 2 ea Corsa Pro Series mufflers (SKU: CP300CT) slightly offset for spacing, back into 2.5in pipe to dump just before the axle in the rear. I'm hoping to get an equal pipe length from left to right banks but we'll see, nothing is quite perfect when it's only drawn on a scrap piece of paper I have in the glove box. Your system sounds great as it is bro. Though, once you get that head/cam package for ol Chomper, you're going to want a muffler to tame that beast.
I had to weld up my y-pipe on my truck after I put a muffler on. Couldn't tell if it had any exhaust leaks when it was just straight pipe back to the bed, but the back pressure from the new muffler on there made me hear some leaks so we just took the clamps off and welded it up. I got the same 1 3/4" long tubes on my 2000 Z71.
@@Povertycab slight but not bad, I also have 4.10 gears and then put a 3000 stall in it. It feels a little more peppy down low but with the long tube headers I've already changed the exhaust scavenging that effects the torque feel down low.

Flowmaster super 50 muffler is quiet enough not to have alot of intirior drone but has a good deep sound. You wont get the choppy tones and popping at high rpm either.
I have the LT 6.2 with cam, headers, two high flow cats into one pipe to a resonator and a 50 series flow master sounds good kind of quiet until you mash on it. Lol.
Just throwing this in here. The y pipe that connects to the duels out they tend to blow to pieces after about 2 months. I got the same exact ones and photos of mine I’m on my 3rd one having to have the shop replace.
Just bought kooks 1 7/8” headers with their catted y pipe and 3” exhaust. Do you think the headers are too big, I was contemplating getting the 1 3/4”. I have an 18 5.3

I have a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis w/ Stainless Works L/Ts 1-5/8 x 3, NO CATS, Pypes 3 Inch Header Collector Flange to 2.5 Inch Pipe Reducers, 12 Inch Long Part# PVR16S, Stainless Works Full Cat-Back/Header Back Exhaust, True Duals, no X-Pipe, no H-Pipe, didn't use the X-Pipe that came with the Cat-back, I used (2) 12 Inch, Stainless Works 2.5 Straight Pipes to replace the X-Pipe, Flowmaster 2.5 S-Bend Part# 15926 w/ the 8 Inch Offset, Flowmaster 10 Series Delta Force Mufflers Part# 8325108, just straight 2.5 all the way back, no Big fat Truck Tips, and let me tell you, it sounds sooOOoo fuckng good. It's LOUD as a motherfucker, but boy does it sound sooOOoo fucking good. Best sounding Crown Vic/Grand Marquis in my opinion. If I were you, I would run True Dual 3 Inch, No Crossover w/ One Chamber 10 Series Delta Force Flowmasters w/ the 3in Center IN, 3in Center OUT Part # 8430109 w/ the True Duals. I think you'll like it alot, not that the straight pipes doesn't sound good, but the Flowmasters would give it a really unique tone, especially with the Catless L/Ts w/ no Crossover or Resonators
You need to order some v bands an couple different sets of mufflers an x pipes an y pipes so you can change them out when you want if your anything like me I've had bout 50 different systems on my last 5 trucks

thats what i heard so i went with 2.5" true duals with an x pipe and flowmaster 40s, but the mufflers are coming off soon

I want to fully straight pipe my Silverado but I’m wondering if I will lose power without having any back pressure. Did you notice a power drop or no?

You should look at black widow exhaust. They have a website where you can listen to their options and with a lot of different configurations.
