Review older cars too❤.keep up the fun content🎉
fukkk I love ittt !!!! I actually want one hahahah😍
Without the two-tone paint scheme it almost looks as bad as the Nissan Cube! With the two-tone paint job it's absolutely Awesome though. I can't hardly wrap my head around the difference
I agree with Jacob.
Shoulda been Diesel or Gas, 3 or 4 Cylinder Turbo
ukkk I love ittt !!!! I actually want one hahahah😍
Jakob is 100% correct, on all accounts. They absolutely ruined the announcement, and the economy changed so much that now, all these years later, it’s the perfect - too expensive - car.
😉
In Australia, this will be $100k and I think that's the SWB too. VW you are failing because you were for the people, not thinking we all have Audi incomes!
It’s a buzzkill.
So as tested about $85,000CAD plus tax (Ontario 13%) = $96,000. Plus freight, plus dealer admin bs. $100,000 VW Buzz. Good luck with that.
I just configured a GTX Buzz here in Germany. 94500€ incl tax ~ 142000 CAD fully-specced
That's insane. Ya, that's going to fail.
and with that disappointing range. Remember people buy minivan for long range trip. FYI, Toyota Sienna Hybrid range is 1032km with a full tank.
I’ll buy a used one in 2 years for half the price.
In Europe they tend to hold value extremely well. You’ll get one for half of the original price after 4 years, not 2.
I was talking to my co-workers at a VW dealer and we are thinking this will hold its value better than other EV's. It doesn't qualify for the US rebates outside of a lease, and it's cool. Plus, (annyoingly) all the dealers will be marking them up
If you can find at least 1 that was actually sold
Huge battery, low range. Companies still not understanding BMS efficiencies.
They understand bs efficiencies.
I typed in Huge Depreciation and it brought me here 🤣
As a TDI holdout, Jakub's crack about diesel at 10:10 gave me a really solid chuckle
Love how passionate you guys are about vehicles and it shows a lot especially in this video.
Funny bone! but ~230 miles of range is a huge fail.
My 2021 sienna was $33k usd. So about half the price for more room and double the range. VW needs to provide at least similar numbers if they want that much money
Exactly. 600 miles EV for under $40k or nothing
@verynick Lots of kids won't last long in a car for 600 miles nonstop (that's about 8 hours). The sweet spot for families is usually between 300-400 miles.
@@TheReal_JG true but this much range gives you flexibility to stop whenever and also less frequent fueling stops. It's a really useful tool on long road trips
@@TheReal_JG plus you need to account for efficiency loss in the winter which will impact range
@@TheReal_JGthe average pit stop on a long roadtrip is about 20-30 min. Until I can full charge something in that time AND not wait in line to do it, then it's not a viable option over gas
If BYD sells the Xia in Europe & the US, it would kill this ID Buzz for sure.
I wouldn’t drive a Chinese car if it were free. Even Volvo.
@@stevehunter7402literally every manufacturer has the majority of their parts made in China… and its been that was for a long time
@@ShanePatsy majority? No.
*The cheapest one* is $77,000! My jaw dropped.
This is going to fail.
Been waiting for this!
Omg you guys are on a roll of reviewing cool cars!! This spec is once again very cool. Now they should make an ID.Beetle with the same colour and wheels.
I love the ID buzz as well. The problem is, is the price! It’s way too expensive and I think they will have a problem selling them because of that price $80,000?!?! I guess if you want one, you don’t care how much the cost of the vehicle is because it is pretty cool.
This needs to be about half the price for what you get with this range. I was excited when announced but the price is crazy.
Im under 30 and always wanted this car, cant justify anything over 40k otd price for this. Ill probably wait till it drops drastically in the used market like most ev cars do.
Great video guys. I’ve been watching for years and the way you guys go through cars you shouldn’t worry about battery replacement. This is why battery warranties are so long.
Tupperware
@@TheStraightPipes but Tupperware doesn’t have to put up with southern Ontario roads LOL
They should have made this a plug in hybrid. They’d be so good.
this should only come in two-tone
Right!
Range blows
Yup it should have been 500-600 miles!!! Right?
For a three row electric SUV, Rivian R1S seems like a more tempting option at this price point.
Super cool definitely been waiting on this
Very, very cool… I’d 100% rather drive this than a Cybertruck
Cant wait to see these with the seats removed and filled with subwoofers and speakers 😃
I've got this van in a Hot wheel that's yellow on the bottom half and white on top I didn't know they were actually going to make them. It's really cool 😎
I got the orange hot wheels one too!
Hey guys, I really enjoy your videos. Well done, and always fun. Looks like a fun vehicle, and love the updated retro thing. Yea, older guy here, so can't separate myself from that. That price tho! Yilkes! I think they missed a key point of the OG VW bus. It was very affordable at the time.
When a family car is not made by family people....
Did you hear what my kid said. “It’s soo cool”
FAMILY
Jakub saying marijuana so many times had me in tears 😂😂😂
Loved this thing since it was introduced. Such a unique and fun vehicle. The design and specs are great. But yeah the price is wild. But people will buy them due to the nostalgia.
Good video, thanks for the content. I've been waiting for years for this. Even though it's a bit of a brick, range should have been 500 more more. At $100k after tax, fees etc, it's a total non starter. I'll be looking to its v2
Damn, I was hoping to trade my wife's Model Y for this van. Price is a deal breaker. 😢
Holy shit! This thing costs MORE than my 2024 Chevy Silverado EV 4WT.
That's INSANE!!!!
It's soo cute design 🥴. It's all about design, retro handheld type, cool.
Jakub reallllllly wanted to smoke Marijuana😂😂
I don't get the hate for the ID.4. I have a 2024 Pro S AWD i love it. Minor infotainement bugs from time to time, that's all. The power is addictive! ⚡️
Not all that into vans, but the interior is 🐐.
It should have been a hybrid after this long of a wait.
Cool design but cost, usability issues and it’s just not going to last.
Im interested in an all black one… used in about 5 years.
$80,000 base model, no thanks.
Some wealthy hippies will get it lol
@@MaverickPhantom I’m more interested in the replacement of the windows since I work for an auto glass replacement company. Specifically the windshield with the ADAS camera mounted in the dash and not on the roof. I’m assuming the camera and bracket is in the dash and nothing on the window, just a black painted section around the camera
@@kevinW826 oh, I see.... well price wise will probably be about $1,500 per window with sensor, but your cost may be lower. The sliding window... well that's going to be over $600 for the entire wondow pane (or whatever the updated price is as for pickup trucks)... I presume
This needs to come with a couch that can convert into a bed as an option.
If this was priced correctly it will definitely upgrade the perception towards minivans in NA even more
RIP Yuri's funnybone, 14:47
Does the interior smell like a Grateful Dead Concert?
- 5:53 😂
YEAR OF THE BUS
Great video. Nice smoke special effects. Yes price is an issue, but range is going to make many hesitate. Here in the US it gets no heat pump. I agree it will sell well here initially, it is the world first cool minivan. Not sure if it will continue to sell. The shot with the 3rd row removed is the best. Awesome space.
Yes “special effects”
@@TheStraightPipes It was clever to drive on your no driving impressions video. Worked better than the others I’ve seen that just play with the in infotainment in a parked Buzz. Plus none of them have a Fast Times From Ridgemont High reference.
When VW comes to the same senses as profitable automakers and offers it as a hybrid it will still be too expensive. Great review as always guys!
Moneywise, for a long trip with 5 to 7 people rent a Chrysler Pacifica minivan with a V6 engine (not the more unreliable hybrid). The more expensive Toyota Sienna gets better gas mileage but does not drive as well, and is unlikely to be available as a rental. Any minivan is too much money if you do not need the extra seats and extra cargo space.
I love it!!! I own an EV. I get charging which takes less than 20 minutes at a 40% charge….(when available)
All I’m saying is, VW owns Electricity America, so they should make it available and usable for all their vehicles!!! **Especially to other car manufacturers that rely on their “promises”**
Mullosk furiously taking notes
30% inflation on cars, perhaps in Canada. I bought a G7 GTI and the G8 is 100% over the G7 price. I'm not sure what's going on in the car industry, but something is not right. Other than the software and the capacitive buttons, the Buzz kinda looks cool. While I was initially hot on electric vehicles, realism caught up to me, and I don't think we're ready for it, so I'm going to be an oil burner for the next decade at least.
Love the looks, inside and out
This is the first mini van I actually want.
Why are these car companies always putting three row seats?? A lot of us don’t need it. I would prefer this thing to be shorter too like in Europe. Mini vans aren’t so mini anymore. They took away the small cargo vans and the only option is one of these or the mini vans. Smh. I need cargo room more than anything. Room room room. Four seats are fine for me. How much for a bare bones strip down model of these??? Lol. I don’t need the extras. Still too expensive for me. I will just have to wait and keep my current vehicle going as best I can. I should have bought a Toyota Sienna or Honda odyssey back in the early 2010’s. Smh 🤦♂️
love your reviews, great production on your videos, congrats on being in Doug D top 10 auto related youtubers, but i disagree with you in terms of EVS and the charging life.. being that I have owned my EV for over two years and have had virtually no problems i out it to you to make a vlog and interview long term EV owners.. and get a reality check.. the real good nd bad of EV ownership
2 years isn’t long term but it’s great to see that you love yours in that time. Check back in 10 years after the battery warranty is over and let us know your long term experience then, very interested
Great video as always! Been watching and a fan since you guys had 200k subscribers. Keep up the great work!!
it's a cool fun (the only) mini van i don't mind to drive, only problem is it's 50% too expensive, and needs 50% more range for a road trip vehicle. It would be ridiculous to charge it 3 times and takes 2 days if I were to drive it to Alberta from Vancouver
Awesome The Dead Logo on one side and a picture of Zippy The Pin Head on the other side. Or the Uncle Sam US Bongs Logo on the back door!!! Guess how old I am if I’m strutting those pieces of art??? Great Video Thank You 🙏
I do not think you have to change your battery if you baby it. Should still have 80% range after 300km.
Never thought this was going to become a reality 😊
First thought that battery started to burn like one Finland did. That Idbuz exploded while charging and burned down fully later.
This is cool just needed more pop with the colors in the interior ❤️
The options In Europe are better they have a few more color options that match the exterior better for example you can get this white with teal accents rather than the orange and it would match this specific exterior color
@@Carfan678 wow we always get the wack options
@@MrMlbfan6 They also sell a "higher performance" model as well called the I.D Buzz GTX
that visor test fail was certainly a buzz kill.
Aaaaaaahhhhhh
W intro
VW gear heads: could they fit a 3 cylinder diesel or petrol engine on it?
No
All they had to do is put a hybrid system instead of shitEV and it would’ve been a hit. But noooo
The CHEAPEST one is still $60kUSD? I actually really like what they've done with this car/van/bus thing, but there are 20 other cars I'd rather buy at that price point.
Shut the front door!
The Buzzkill. The great but costs way too much nostalgic EV van.
You’re here for MARIJUANA!!! BOOOO THIS MAN!
Actually taking it surfing would ruin the inside and out fast, as with any new car, I would devalue that “thing”(no pun) sooooo fast, unfortunately,
I want one! I’ll never have one because it’s a vw van only for rich people??
Rich people get all the cool stuff
Hopefully VW brings back the Volkswagen camper.
Has everyone been paid to love this vehicle? Limited range and no NACS means a poor road tripper, and that A-pillar visibility is horrendous, almost Cybertruck like
I love this car so much I hope it’s good lol
I had a 10 year old '72 Bus & no maru jay juana was ever smoked in it. A great deal of beer was drunk in it in those years though, due to paranoia....
When VW showed this vehicle years ago it had a solar roof that was a strip of solar on the roof.
Now once again an electric vehicle w/ a full sunroof
The truth is that solar roofs on cars are basically useless and an unneeded expense
I’m spitting on every single one I see.
You mean admiring and taking a cool photo
What about some MARIJUANA!!!😂
Legends remember when this was called the eBussy. Wonder why they changed that🤔
I can’t wait to see someone put a ls in one !!! That’ll be awesome …. Never mind 77 to 85 grand , what a joke
9:41 Next thing you know, y'all will be promoting Moosehead 🫎 Strange 🍺😂
This car is close to double what it should cost. If they sell one I would be shocked, then laugh.
Other than the grill it’s freakin awesome. Two tone FTW!
If they cram the Taycan battery (105kWh) in here to get 430km range in ~2027, i'd buy one
About the size and cargo you have to remember that this is an European car, it can't be TOO big or it wont fit our cities. The biggest problem of SWB was it was just a boxy shape at the top of MEB platform. It was too small to be consider a small family van, and too boxy to get any efficiency. The LWB finally make it a nice vehicle if you want to tow a dinghy or two, throw large bags and in crazy scenario, being able to sleep inside. The first edition was a joke, and the fact that you still don't have full size windows in the family car? maaann... BTW, I am 42.
I'll get one in 2 years when they're going for $10k
I love this car! I just wish I could convince my wife that it’s not ugly…
She's the straight one
My aunt will buy one.
The original bus was cheap and could pack people in, young people’s perfect car. This will only sell to nostalgic older people with money. While I think it’s an awesome car, It’s the opposite of the original concept
9:47 Mariiiwaaaanna
For this kind amount of cash I can buy a diesel motorhome and sleep under the stars on top of "the best driving road in the world"
Ha Jacob!! What if I wanna Smoke Marijuana 😂
This was cool when VW unveiled the concept 4 years ago. Now it’s not. Bad timing VW.
7 years ago. 8 years per the 2025 model year
@@TheStraightPipes Good point!
These geysers definitely lit up one :P
The long wheel base is also avaiable in rhe EU
Amazing!
Guys I am below 50% of my Passat loan from 2021, my equity is basically through the roof because of the lingering used car market, and I want this fucking van so bad but why did they make it $60,000 they quite literally made the decision for me. WTF VW
What in the Oasis esque music at the beginning!
Interesting. Whereas I heard The Beatles there.
AI generated, I’m sure.
Dunno it reminded me of Champagne Supernova for some reason. And it doesn’t even sound remotely close to that masterpiece. Man I love that song.
Don’t you think you should have mentioned the 8y 100k mi battery warranty in your battery replacement rant?
Hyundai (and every other company) also has a battery warranty and they’ve denied claims. So no
Only time will tell how that warranty is treated
@@TheStraightPipes Are you going to start saying all warranties for all parts on all types of vehicles can’t be considered because claims could be denied too in that case?
I’m in the USA and this pretty much costs just as much as a Tesla Model X, because there’s no tax rebate… wow VW. 😂
