Nice to see you helping people. The mini-Sidewinder is so cool. The main line in a cave I dive in regularly is rotten. I reported it and they want me to replace it. A first for me. I guess there's always a first. Should be fun.
Great video, endless respect for everything Mike !! A legend!! Damn all the monstrous big companies for ruining the whole globe for their corporate suits and execs to get rich, damn them!!
like always a pleasure to see the great Kahuna of cave diving doing his thing. I just hope the whole fed government goes after the landowner for his concerns about the environmental mess caused by oil leaks into the ground.
This is really unfortunate and I hope companies will be taken accountable and care more about preservation than profit. But thank you Mike. I grew up thinking there was nothing left to explore, the few people like you have opened my heart back up to that dream, be it space, the oceans, or the caves underneath us I just need to find out, its all I've wanted.
Don’t blame the oil companies for wanting to make profit. There are so many people, to include government that want to leech their pound of flesh it’s crazy. I do agree they need to fix any eco pollution issues ASAP.
Without profit they don't exist. Without them we don't have our modern world. Millions of people would die from lack of heat alone. We couldn't farm all of our food. It would rot in the field. The government should stop taxing them so much so they have more money to maintain their infrastructure. Put more strict laws in place and cut taxes but make them spend that on maintenance. CEOs go to jail if they let oils spills hit a certain level.
Zip ties are my best friend when doing any sort of project like this. Could have zip tied the red and white hose to the blue hose if they don't need to be far apart. But who am I to tell you how to do your job. Thank you for letting us see. You're the best, stay safe.
What a great use of diving talent. Fantastic job 👍 It irritates me that these criminals at the petroleum company refuse to even entertain the idea that they might be polluting. Gross...
I was on the Dive Talk channel, watched your video : the Tight Cave Exploration at Blue Spring. I do diving occasionally, not an expert by any means, but I am a long time spelunker, and from watching that particular video, I knew that you guys were also into spelunking. It was confirmed when I visited your channel. Please give us more videos about underwater spelunking, this is simply amazing. Thank you and stay safe.
The chemicals floating on the surface and staining the walls … not good. Glad you are part of helping bring it to light. Thanks for sharing. Assuming you will be a witness in this case too?
I love you all I hope one day I aspire to be like you water is my blood and it’s my home and I’m grateful to have such amazing people to be apart of the family ❤
It is just a smaller sidewinder. It has a protective shel and no wing for lift. It is to small for Oxygen sensors so it is only good to 20 feet deep and runs pure oxygen
I would assume the air quality is ok at the time your in there since your breathing. Does it get more concentrated in that air pocket when the water levels rise?
Did you notice any residue on your gear after each dive? Got to love zip ties and Velcro. I dig that your doing this type of stuff we take and take and don’t think of the ramifications of our society has. Good job
One question I saw this on another one of your videos, does the spit in the mask help better than the rinsing it with the water . I'm just now starting to learn a little bit about diving through videos
Mike, I think if you made a daily vlog, even your most boring day would be 1000x more interesting than the fake crap all over TH-cam these days. Love any content you put out.
Has anything come of it Mike? As a medically retired Pipeliner and aspiring cave diver , this bothers me Stay on your loop! That’s a hazmat environment and the presence of H2S gas if the leak is from the crude line, would kill you before you could even smell it if it’s in high enough concentrations
Sure the bill to get Mike out there n do that wasn't cheap 30k easy. How sure was he the air was safe to breath under there w the pollution?? And why take air samples vs water samples...to locate where the pollution is starting ?
In a previous video, Mike did not stop breathing from his rebreather and took air quality samples inside the cave. I'm guessing the air samples came back with a number Mike is comfortable with breathing (at least for a limited time).
Idk I feel like you could tell him you have a cave that hasn’t been dive before and make some requests. But Mike is a great guy master at what he does.
Man...i panicked a little bit when Mike left that camera behind!!

Wow this is cool love the mini sidewinder. Can’t wait to get my spirit and pretend to be as cool as you.
If you ever get in trouble, just ask yourself what would Mike do? He'd stay calm, that's what.
@@MarkkuS that’s right no matter the problem there is a way out. Just stay calm and think about it.

With Spring on the way the chances of the oil reaching the cave are much higher. It will be interesting to hear the results!!
Thanks for sharing, you are an amazing man
superb!
Great work Mike! This is awesome stuff here, love the little mini-Sidewinder, rig, perfect kit for this job. Did it perform to expectations?
This is the 4th sump to use it in. I just have to be careful not to overwork it

great new vid, i really hope one day i can be 1/5 the diver you are. such an inspiration
Wow what a dangerous situation. I hope you can find out what is going on for the land owner. Good luck!
I would assume the air quality is ok at the time your in there since your breathing. Does it get more concentrated in that air pocket when the water levels rise?
Yes when the rain flushes product in it is very concentrated
@@mikeyoung8968 thanks for the reply Mike! Love the videos!
Imagine going into an unexplored cave and ending up directly into an arrowhead water factory 🌊😂

Yes there is some residue. I have to rinse it off good
You crazy dude 😂😂😂😂 but awesome job
So with a rig like that you’ll run out of CO2 scrubbing before the 02 runs out?
Yes sir
Is this stuff dangerous to dive in? Like the oil stuff
Not really dangerous just could be bad on your suit. Eat it up.
That’s cool then! I take it you got special products to clean suits!
What kind of dry suit was you using Mike?
It’s a onel 3mm surfing drysuit. With my caving suit over it to protect it
One question I saw this on another one of your videos, does the spit in the mask help better than the rinsing it with the water . I'm just now starting to learn a little bit about diving through videos
wipe saliva on the inside of a dry mask to decrease fogging
