- Oof. I wish I could put it in words what an emotional roller coaster this show has been but nothing I say will be sufficient. ITSAY is probably one of the most amazing coming of age shows I’ve seen in last few years if not my whole life and I’m not even exaggerating. I don't rememeber when was the last time I got so invested in something. I spent 5 weeks going crazy trying to overanalyze every scene with my friend. The characters feel so real and relatable and the writing is absolute chefs kiss. I’ve actually been editing this video for 5 weeks as episodes were coming out and I’m not incredibly happy with the result but nevertheless I still think this is my favorite video I ever made.

Personally I think even tho Thailand produces many BL dramas, there aren't many that are actually good. But this one - it's beautiful and I absolutly loved it.

After a turbulent ending of Episode 4 the story has for the first time some time gaps that don't allows us follow the emotional changes on going on the lead characters. We are left alone to assume a lot... and can just operate with the saying "time heals everything". But this healing has nothing to do with TEH and OH's broken hearts in their own ways... the healing is more about accepting their choices. TEH has to come to terms with losing focus because of love about following his dream future... and OH has to come to terms with rejecting TEH's offers both of keep being best friends, and on taking the Special Admission place that TEH make available for him.
Since OH didn't want them to remain friends they avoid each other once again. This is the second time in their lives... only this time the emotions are way much stronger. Hurting each other indirectly with insinuations and word games escalates to a point when BAS comes into play, and take the initiative confessing to like OH in front of their tutoring Mandarin class. What is most important in this scene is left actually aside from focus. A boy... BAS... is confessing his feelings for another boy... OH... in public. Their friends are there, class mates are there, a teacher is there as well. What could turn into a field of rejectors and enemies reveals as a safe place to express themselves. No one interferes, nobody express disapproval. Just the opposite. The teacher gives them a moment alone to deal with the out come of BAS confession. IT is difficult to organize all what is going on TEH's head at that moment, but we can summit saying BAS did all that what TEH would like to do as well, and more. Nevertheless this scene feels like TEH didn't understood completely what happened there, and part of his fears will remain until he talks and opens up about it to his brother HOON. In that talk TEH for the first time let us all know what we have been assuming to be the main reasons why he wouldn't give himself a chance to love OH openly... being definitely his mother the ultimate wall he feels unable to turn down. All of his life he has wanted to make his mother proud... but the fear of being rejected by her is so strong that he would negate himself from being who he is. Luckily TEH has an amazing older brother in HOON who sees way more that he says, and who takes all of those fears away from TEH. And yet the sense of lost is inevitable, as OH is dating BAS and he feels like his chance of love is gone with the wind.
In the mean time OH has gone apparently thru a similar process but in a reverted way. I have to say apparently because we don't see any of it. Not a single hint, but his encouraging words to TEH just before the admission exam takes place. We see an OH full of regret and willing to make a move for them to become close again... at least for a moment. Later on as he realizes TEH didn't get into the same university he definitely sees how much damage his rejection of TEH wish of remaining best friends after the underwater kiss has cost both of them. Because from that rejection everything went wrong, and their future together can't happen as originally planned. There is a new gap setting them apart. We see all of this as BAS takes OH to visit TEH, but he can collect the necessary strengths to face TEH in that moment because he knows what it means. This realization leads him to apologize to BAS and go back to being just friends with him. The next step was holding to a promise made to the Gods... a promise out of a wish... a wish that is incomplete now... because TEH is not part of the "victory". And yet OH holds to it... maybe hoping TEH would follow as well. And TEH does... follows that same path, for the promise he made... of running together with OH that day.
In the end we are facing the Sunset into the Andaman Sea... sailing west. TEH is all in tears... feeling accomplishment and failure... OH can't help but to look at him... admire him... for being there with him... despite of everything that went wrong between them because of him. He is feeling guilty... but at the same time hopeful of a new possible beginning. He makes clear that he is free from BAS now. He offers TEH anything... whatever he wants... whatever he needs... just in exchange from being close again. Friends, rivals, anything at all. What OH should have answered to TEH before on the beach, after the underwater kiss... is being say now. The price of this mistake has been very high... but is part of a life experience that only thru these mistakes is possible of learning. Because of all the pain they both went thru after breaking up their friendship they are both now able to understand what it means to truly love each other. And that life lesson is rewarded... as they both stand looking into each others eyes... and TEH takes on OH's offer by saying: IF we can be anything... Can we be boyfriends then? A hug and a new promise seals their next step into a future together painted by a golden Sunset.
This Series is definitely the most emotional and absorbing Boys Love Series that I have ever seen in my entire life. I can say that I feel completely dehydrated and powerless after watching it. Both lead actors Billkin and PP really became their characters TEH and OH, and took us all with them into their own world of emotions. Love, hate, yearning, regrets and a lot more... we felt that all ourselves. The cinematographic value of this production sets a new standard that is going to be impossible to achieve ever again. THIS was a one of a life time experience, something extremely unique that won't be done again... not even the following Part 2 will be able to give as this, as it will be happening in Bangkok with TEH and OH studying in their universities. The real heavy walls of emotions felt down with the very last Sunset of Episode 5. To surpass the standards set by this production in a context we BL fans are too familiar with seems unrealistic to me.0
