Nobody is stopping you from doing that right now. Don't wait for someone to tell you that you can--if you love this culture so much, you should already be able to speak at least one of their languages. I'm learning Lakota and I'm from Europe. History *is* mostly the story of human struggle--the Indians didn't have it any worse than other peoples that have been conquered (i.e., most of the peoples on Earth at one time or the other).

I am Apache, Comanche, and Iroquois and I am extremely proud of my heritage. I like these stories, and each nation had their own story where some things were similar while other things differed... as you would expect among different peoples. I have lived in the white man's world most of my life (I'm 80) and have had to adjust some things in order to survive, but I would never deny my heritage and I would never deny my spiritual heritage. I wish I could say that my employers were able to accept my side, which they didn't, but they did allow me to show what I could do for them within doing things honorably. My blessings to all of you... Yeha Noha.

I must have had a good education because I grew up in the 80's & 90's, & my history focused heavily on the Native American nations, Trail of Tears, slavery, African American inventors, suffragists, Hitler, & the Constitution. It sounds like they learn nothing these days.
I have no illusions about what Europeans did around the World, but they are not the only people to have conquered, colonized, & enslaved. Matter of fact, Powhatans attacked & killed a lot of Jamestown. I didn't learn that until an adult. So, there is a lot left out of history books.

Europe it’s all y’all’s fault… especially y’all Christians… I guess the mayflower was an evil voyage. I mean the king can’t cut your head off for being a Christian, but once, am I right?

Calling ourselves native Americans as redskins is not an insult, that’s basically who we really are. I was once told that there’s 4 original skin colors, red, white, black and yellow. You mixed it all together, then there’s brown. (Hence, the Latinos) If you were to look it up, there’s a Native American symbol that has exactly those 4 colors and a cross in the middle. It mainly means that no matter our skin color, we are still equals.

Douglas T. Malatare enrolled Blackfeet elder from Montana. Comment: listening to the documentaries to me is biased because it comes from the non-indian perspective only angering the true American Indian.. the reality as I am told that the white supremist came uninvited to our sacred homelands. They were running from their origin from tyranical christian European powers, thus they were seeking asylum and our ancestors nurtured them and they got their health back and our azad ancestors taught them agricultural survival..many more Europeans followed and began to populate and shamelessly occupied and began as piracy methods of robbing, killing, and stealing Indian lands. Their origin rulers killed their god, Jesus Christ. Shamed they burned the Christian sacred bible only to around 1117 English scholars wrote their own bible followed today. So the original teaching of Jesus Christs true messages the truth from his father God was destroyed and wrote to meet their evil ways which our ancestors the lord suffered under their cruelties . As I interpret suffrage such as genocide methodologies are many: 1493 Doctrine of Discovery; 1855 & 1868 Indian Treaty era; 1858 settlers provocation of Indian War era; Indian Reorganization Act; Indian Allotment Act; Education Acts; to mention a few to start their to exterminate, annihilate, genocide, and termination from our own sacred lands gifted to us by our father creator. When in fact they are what I interpret "IMMIGRANTS, illegal aliens!" Our American Indian International sovereign nations must ban together an reclaim our innate an original rights but only by complete Indian Nation solidarity and asking our father Creator to pity us and to stand with us..we can beat these bad evil spirits that control our Indian peoples..today. just a short suggestion aye as I am only following my heart and spirit. Oki

The Seminole are NOT a tribe... they were a confederation 'runaways' of people who were displaced from various tribes and also those who were indentured, enslaved, imprisoned or threatened with it by the big three empires France Spain & Britain... the United States DID NOT EXIST then... in fact there were even IRISH people that were part of the Seminole confederation of 'runaways'... a more formal confederation is the longest still lasting democracy on earth: the Iroquois... there wampum was based upon principles many of which were also adopted & implemented in our CUSA!
As far as the cree people are concerned I am fairly certain that was a tribe & not a confederation... but who exactly were the creek... like they were people who lived in under or by a creek?!!?

People & nations who harp on freedom & liberty; need to admit that they stand on someone else land, freedom & dreams. While nothing of the past can be undone - acknowledging the atrocities committed and more importantly recognizing and giving due credit to the rightful inhabitants/owners of the land; heals hearts.

When he landed, his plans quickly changed to finding gold and by God, the natives were going to do it for him and die doing it. All he wanted was to please the king so he could get all the glory. I love to watch documentaries about the Native Americans. I am presently learning about the Adena and Hopewell Indians who lived about 600BC -400AD. The Adena lived before the Hopewell and were giants (I think). The Hopewell were wiped out in a war with another nation(I don’t. know their name). Do you know about them?

@@maryannstout7600 every one of our nations has stories of giants and war. They were used over many, many generations to teach children various lessons. As for adena and Hopewell specifically. I am from the Philippines. We have similar history. The Philippines was under the Spanish colonizers for 300 years, destroying our unique culture. They were followed by the Japanese who reigned us for 4 years. Again they forced us to embraced their culture. After them, the Americans who ruled us for more than 40 years.
Nothing was left with our culture. The Filipinos had a mixed culture.
During the time of the colonizers, the ancient Filipinos had suffered so much on their hands.

Skoden Fineden why does the land belong to anyone? By what right does land belong to anyone in perpetuity. Even in our current capitalist society we cease to own things when we die. What is ours now is someone else’s tomorrow. The story of the indigenous peoples of North America is a complex one. Yes, some bad things happened to indigenous peoples by Europeans. Bad things were done by indigenous people to other indigenous people as well as a Europeans. It’s time to stop counting the past wrongs of generations long gone.

Not just land or people, but values and traditions that are quite frankly stolen. Even in watching the peacekeepers, they sound a lot like Christ in Christianity. If it wasn’t for colonization then the Bible and it’s message would have never been brought to your people. Meaning you would have never known of Jesus so you couldn’t accept him as your savior and you wouldn’t get into heaven. Or at least that’s how I understand Christianity. I could be wrong.

To be in touch with the land and sky, it is a bit easier to understand those who never lost that touch. Wherever you are you can understand the land for a short period of time, but people`s who have known the land for thousands of years have a vast knowledge that everyone living there needs.

This is an excellent history. There needs to be at least one more segment that includes Sequoya and the Cherokee Trail of Tears, Tecumseh of the Shawnee with the 'Tippecanoe and Tyler too' infamy, Chief Joseph of the Nez Pierce, and Chief Seattle.

We should do something to help. I know they have tried to finish Crazy Horses statue for decades. I was there the summer before my sophomore year. Not sure when it was started but in over 40 years it should be done. Sad we can't celebrate the bravery of the American Indian. Wish they would do a GoFundMe page. I would contribute. It's a beautiful respect to all Indians.

Rainbow worriers ..............vikram I really hope you see this message and anyone else that reads it.......my true name is bear honorable running I am 87 percent LAKOTA my people are all indigenous people around the world they have many religions and they are many colors many races I didn't know that I was almost pure native and what I mean by that is that I am 87% Lakota 5% White and the rest Syrian I did not know I was Lakota until my mother passed away 11 years ago and I always wondered why I love being outside doing what a man is supposed to be doing survival facing adversity and always thought like a warrior I always wanted to be a true native and one day be able to return to him I recently learned that chief crazy bear was Uggla Lakota and I am named after his son bear honorable running and you go and wait crazy bear doesn't have a son he only had daughters I'm going to tell you the reason why it doesn't show bear honorable running is because father giamano medicine man was Raising bear to be medicine man Warrior and chief and the rest was covered up by the American government who what they've done to him and princess Shakari they was some horrible things done with these two especially the princess oh yeah and please don't mind the note. No Comas nothing because it's voice text so bear with me and vikram I was shocked to my very core to the horrible things did they do to these two on their wedding day she was about to become Queen and he was about to be king how ironic who is that the American government knew what they was doing they didn't want no one to know that there was to be a king and the Queen in America and I promise you this is no bull s*** this is when I found out what my true mission is I am here to make things right for all of you and my people you say you wish you can help my people brother but you can all of you can there is a way. Okay after that and I feel like I need to put a. And this is how you start he do what I'm doing right now do you get on one of the most powerful tools in the world for now is the internet learn everything you can about the demise of my people if something is not done now there will be no Lakota launch the last Lakota dies on the reservation the Lakota race will be history one of the greatest genocide stories in the world. Look at the news look what's going on look at the people around the world starting to fight the government because they are being wronged one way or the other. This is when I decided I'm going to do something about it and that's why I'm talking to all of you right now I appreciate it when you push that button someone liked your comment. That's where it starts Goin wrong you are actually not doing nothing about it well I want you to do is to talk to me about it and you talked to anyone about it this is your chance all of you if you are here reading and listening and watching these prophecies then that means you truly love my people would you or would you not fight for your family if someone in your family was wronged would you not speak up. I can see you care but now please help me help my people and all people around the world and no I don't want no money or anything like that I just want the world to become rainbow Warrior it's in the native prophecies The hoppies I choose to be a Rainbow Warrior and I will be heard see Vikram how easy that is join me and become a voice for all people and save the people that was supposed to show you the way. so please don't push that like button talk about it I want to hear what you got to say I want you to be heard just like I want you to hear me and one day we will all stand as one there will be no enemies everybody keeps their own religions you don't have to go to church and pray you be able to do that anywhere you want churches are going to be turned into lodges and if there's any disagreements it will be settled in the lodge peacefully there will be no Hungry mouths to feed next door neighbors will be helping each other there will be free hospital care no one will have to beg for money no more because there will be no money the most valuable thing in the world other than your family is the people around you your neighbors people seem to forgot about that I've seen a little of that in the beginning of my life in this time no more child molesters no more rapes no more murders does that sound good to you there is more how about this no more evil no more devil no more demons Mother Earth Will Survive not truly and that's what we all what to avoid don't we so please let's talk about it that's how this is going to begin right here right now I choose to be a Rainbow Warrior even if you don't stand with me and you are good I'm still going to fight for you I just want you to know this it's your choice God did give that right. This is God's message to you why are you waiting for Jesus to show up when each and everyone of you can do something about it right now each and everyone of you has the spirit of Elijah I offer you heaven on Earth why do you choose hell ?
