I can never get the nut threaded on the rear shock with the aftermarket bushings. Even with weight on it. I always have to shave them a bit. This is on an FJ though.
My shocks were original ones with almost 200k miles on them so they were blown out. My rear end was very clunky on bumps. The shocks are what make this a long travel kit since they can articulate more than the original ones.
@@timesofyourlife1 yeah I would definitely recommend changing them if you’re doing a lift. With a lift kit you’ll get more articulation that puts the original shocks outside their working range. With that many miles if you changed shocks you’d feel an improvement in ride quality.

So you would recommend changing the shocks since you kinda gotta take them off any way (250k don't know if they are original)? @@eriksadventurelab
