I’ve heard of preplanning but Huntly seems to be an indulgence specially when Bendigo already has 4 stations. And Ballarat is bigger and can’t even get a 3rd for the western suburbs. Still the helps that the local member was the Minister of Transport.
@@driver667 yup agree but my point still stands. Ballarat has only two and is a bigger city. Huntly is all of 10 minutes from Epsom and 15 from Goorgong. So at $2-$3 million a piece once of those could have been sacrificed. 5 stations including Huntly versus two for a bigger city does seem a tad pork barrelling.
I'm thinking along your lines xr6lad. The taxpayer is forking out hundreds of millions on Victoria's regional rail network at a time when patronage is falling. I drive regularly on the road from Pakenham to Phillip Island. Its classed as an M road but its more like a goat track from Tooradin eastwards. It could do with some of those millions that have been thrown at regional railways when a bus service could provide the required transport needs to connect Bendigo with country communities.
@@driver667 From reading your and others' explanations of the reasoning behind why this stretch of slow track continues to exist, why haven't the policing and trespassing problems long-since been addressed and taken care of? Why would the Australian government, which I understand owns this stretch of railway line, be willing to tolerate this situation for as long as it evidently has for more than several years now. This slowdown makes no sense - and it surely must be greatly discouraging people from wanting to use this train route.

Huntly will have houses being built around it in the next few years. They're not far away now. 👍😀

Thanks for another great video. That crawl from Epsom into Bendigo must be really frustrating for the drivers.
It certainly is but there's not much you can do about it. 🤔👍😀
@@driver667 I wonder how a Vlocity would go with a bull bar.
@@rayroche94 hmmm, don't think so 🤔 👍😀
@@driver667 trespassers seem to have been given too much power. 🤔

I rode this line many years ago and it was painfully slow, it seems to have been upgraded in certain areas but is still very slow into Bendigo
Police operation. Trespassers. 🤔👍😀
19:07 Geez we're draggin' our heels here! 50 snails just shot past, going so fast they were just a blur! LOL😁
Es car go??? 👍😀
@@driver667 Ahhhhhh Yep! *Zoom, Zoom!* 😁
When the train had to slow down, I just pretended it was a vintage railmotor on a tour.
(I had to provide my own creaking sounds though.)🤓
I'll have to add a few creaks and groans. 🤣🤣👍😀
What was the reason for the "slow order" over what appeared to be track worthy of much higher speeds?
Police operation, trespassers. 👍😀
Jeez, quite a crowd on the platform at Bendigo...
A very popular service. 👍😀
Why is it 40 from epsom to Bendigo
Police request due to trespassers 👍😀
You’re kidding …. Was this made public ?
@@adamant8235 as you would have heard, it was in the announcement in the train. 👍😀
@@adamant8235 I misunderstood what you were referring to, the 40 is due to sleeper condition. My apologies. 👍😀
@@driver667 The sleepers might've woken up! I could hear them yawning! LOL😁

What one.
Conductor. Less training. 👍😀

Yes, good run ruined. 🤔👍😀

It will be the opposite. The housing estates are not far away. They will be at the station in the next year or two. 👍😀
