Tonight I made dinner. I usually cook, but it isn't usually anything that takes a real time. I usually just throw something that takes 5-15 minutes in the microwave and ask my toddler to be patient while it finishes cooking. A couple of times a week, I make something that is still low-effort but actually requires foresight. Today was one of those days. While the oven was preheating (15 minutes), I put away dry dishes and sorted dirty ones. Once the pizza was in and cooking (another 16 minutes), I washed the dirty dishes. And when I switched to the broiler to get the cheese looking nice (6 minutes), I washed up the sink. I think I'm going to do the dishes wile supper cooks every day from now on. Much more productive than spending as much time as I have been on my phone 😅.

So true about keeping countertops clean and picked up. Both kitchen and bathrooms. Sinks can be cleaned while in those rooms. Make my bed first thing in the morning. Put on some coffee . Read a devotional to put your heart in the right place. But I am sharing as an older matured woman. It’s always worked in the past 51 years of marriage. . But enough about me!😊! You are an inspiration!

Tips for when you're overwhelmed and can't get started:
1: Watch Cambria's videos! Sooo motivating!!
2: Take a before picture of the room you want to tackle.
3: Set a five minute timer and GO!
4: Take an After picture and you will see the difference FIVE MINITES makes!

First time watching. You have such a warm compassionate voice that shows confidence as you speak these methods, tools, and freeing up space of cleanliness. Your music is sensational, it has a country rock story telling feel. I was about to run a very morning errand in preparation to accompany a friend on a deep personal matter
He called with a change of plans, this freed me up to watch your video. Been sitting in my car still in garage during entire great beginning of new adventure
Also like how you gently repeat to compound good interest both mental and financial. Thank you so very much for sharing your gift

Great advice! My biggest rule of thumbs are less is best and keep a bag in-bag out policy, keep all personal belongings in a nice box or basket which makes wiping surfaces easier, and make my bed as soon as I get out of it and pick up everything in bedroom, first thing. On a side note, due to family members and multiple pets, it’s hard to keep my house ‘clean’. I’m disabled and cannot scrub my house as much as it needs, but do keep it from being cluttered! I’ve threatened to dust using my electric leaf blower! But reality is I need a cleaning team with tooth brushes, mops, and wipe from ceiling to floor. 😮

Also, every single member if your family should be participating every single day in keeping your house clean and organized. Kids can make ther bed and clean up their toys. They can wipe out the sink or wipe odd the counter (for instance). Partners who work outside the home should also be doing tasks in the home too. Everyone lives there. Everyone is responsible for the upkeep. I have always loved hearing how you have your kids participate. Freya feeding the monster sounds too cute!

I love your videos. I learn so much from them. I also generally feel better about my efforts when I watch. I do have to say that I disagree about your box theory, though. After we moved into our first house, I has some coworkers telling me if I hadn’t gotten into a box in five years, then I don’t need to and to just throw it away. So going through a “junk” room in my basement, I came across a box I hadn’t seen in several years. It was small and I had no idea what was in it. So I throw it away. I died inside and pulled it back out. I just couldn’t do it without looking inside. Well, I’m glad I did. My pearl ring I thought I had lost in the move was in there. Several savings bonds we had bought many many years ago were in there. There was so many things I was so grateful to have found. Please don’t throw things away without looking at them. Even if it ends up being something you don’t need anymore, giving it to charity is so much better than filling the landfill.

I work outside the home full time, 4 days a week, my cleaning days are Friday and Saturday as Sundays are family day. My kitchen is cleaned every night, any snack stuff washed, dried and put away before I go to bed- it really helps set the mood for bedtime and upon waking. Every evening after I get home, one small chore is done, a quick dust, a quick vacuum, or a swipe in the bathrooms while my husband is cooking dinner (he cooks M-Th and I cook F-Sun). Then on my days off is a deeper clean of all areas, disinfect, dust and polish furniture, vacuum/sweep/mop, laundry and sheets (I have 2 sets of sheets for each bed and 2 full sets of towels for each person and I am able to make my bed as soon as I strip it and put up clean towels immediately and able to walk away and get other stuff done and not have to worry at bedtime and shower time to rush to get a bed made or pull a clean towel out AFTER I step from the shower)and towels changed out. Once a month, one room gets a very deep clean, walls/ceilings, floors, curtains, drawers and closets and all light fixtures- I may do our bedroom one month, the guest bedroom the next month, the living room the third month, etc, though the kitchen and bathroom get that very deep clean each week (the drawers and cabinets get a deep clean once a month) as those are the areas that have the most accumulation of gunk, etc and bacteria and viruses. And don’t forget your door knobs and cabinet hardware! I have been a full time homemaker when the kids were young and then have been a full time employee when they hit junior high and having a routine is what has saved my sanity and also have taught my, now adult, children to keep things neat all week long as working parents so it isn’t as overwhelming on their days off and like I did, they have regular daily chores for their children - teaching habits for a lifetime. Let me add, that the first 2 years of my marriage, my house was a hot mess and I was so overwhelmed that I would just sit and cry, a new friend came in and she not just became a lifetime friend (husband was career military) but a mentor that got me where my house was tidied daily and where I have the routine I have now, even 39 years later. Ladies, routine is crucial to keeping your and your families sanity almost normal and allows way more freedom than you may think, because by keeping a routine means things are completed quickly and you have more time for you and your family each day.

What all mixtures part do you use in your glass spray bottle that you're using on your countertops for cleaning? Beautiful hone too, BTW. I loved seeing the Christmas decorations and bedding even though I'm not watching this until now, end of January, lol.

oh one last thing.....i was just wondering what your floors are made of....my husband picked out and is installing a waterproof laminate flooring that looks like wood, but it's textured and i'm thinking it's going to be soooooo hard to keep clean.....i want to invest in a tineco or some sort of wet dry vacuum....but i'm not sure if it will be worth it with this type of flooring.....any suggestions or are your floors a water proof laminate and if so does the wet dry vacuums work?

I found them on wayfare. Idk if they still have them but if you look up kids dresser or large nightstands they have a lot of options

I've been following you for over 5+ years and your new ideas, such as dishes math and 5 minute pick ups, are verbatim what Dana K. White says on her TH-cam channel and in her books published almost a decade ago. I highly doubt any ideas are new given that everyone puts a spin on things they see elsewhere but Dana's ideas are unlike any other I've EVER come across with her no mess declutter and organization ideas. I think you should give credit where credit is due. ☺️

I’ve actually never heard of her but will look her up. But you are absolutely right none of this is 100% my ideas but more of things I have learned through the years from blogs or other TH-camrs but I will definitely look into her also I’m always looking for new great people to follow 🤗
