The Droplet icon indicates that the timer automatically starts when it detects the flow of espresso, so there is no need to tap the power button to start the timer.
At the 9:00 min mark, all of the auto modes (anything beyond the first two modes) are designed around the flow of espresso. Your first attempt was a flow rate similar to pour over, the second attempt was slower, closer to an actual shot of espresso.
Can you explain further? I’ve been researching all day on how to turn off all the modes I don’t need. I only want normal scale and auto tare auto timer
You can use the touch sensitive control setting to allow you to use the entire top plate of the scale as your surface while you use the app for your buttons 👌The entire surface works as a scale, and in my experience this helps with pour overs into large vessels that cover the display. Ideally still using the rubber protector! As that is actually utilised to protect the load cell in the battery. It also ensures more accurate weights as these temperature effects essentially result in the expansion (or contraction) of the springs used for measurement in the cell resulting inaccurate reading.
I've got a Brewista Smart Scale II, which is pretty nice, but one thing that jumps out at me is how quick the display updates with this one compared to mine? When pulling a shot, mine kind of goes from one number to the next (updates about once or twice per second, I'd say), which is about 2g in the "end game", when I'm going to stop the shot... With 16g of coffee, that can take your ratio from 2 to almost 2.2 easily, which is a fair bit! So it looks like this scale's faster reaction time might make it easier to hit the target?
Hey Pierre, yes good observation, this scale is quite seriously the most accurate and most responsive scale I've ever used :), it's like when you use a camera and you're trying to get a specific snap haha
I dropped mine on a concrete floor and the corners folded, but it still works ;((((((((((((((( I'm so disappointed now because it's lopsided and chipped. I might buy a new one and give my dented one to a friend who wants one. Imperfections bother me lol.
For the price it’s a frustrating device. TH-cam is your only way to learn how to use this. Instructions are horrible. Very finicky device. 250? No, find something half the price and easier to use. It’s a damn scale.
Just some constructive feedback. This is a review video - I stopped watching when you said “I don’t know what the dimensions are”. Sure not the most important feature but it just gives the impression you’re not prepared.
hahaha, fair enough. thing is micro usb can be found anywhere, so in that way it's a bit more practical in a pinch. I'll do a new review when they release it :)
@@BrodieVissers lets be honest it's not a fun experience using it flipping 600 times to fit haha, and i dont think anyone still has a device using micro usb unless that device is 10 years old
In Germany, retailers also still offer this USB-C version for only 30 € less than the newer Acaia Lunar 2021 model. Beware, 260 to 270 € for a dated version is quite a lot… AND as far as I saw, the announced Acaia Orbit SDG will only work with the Lunar 2021 model out of the box ;-) Just in case that I might become crazy enough to switch to their grinder in the future…

Can this be used for manual brewing with the new 2021 acaia lunar?

You did a lot of work for rhis vid!
Thanks
You can turn off the modes you don't use so you don't have to cycle thru all of the modes and quickly access the two to three you use.
How??

it's best to update your scale to the latest firmware version and just follow the instructions for the 2.6 firmware.

Oh that's great advice Ben! Thanks for the input

Thanks, it’s hard to find a video explaining the icons
Nice relaxt video, thanks man
Mine did not come with a cool carrying case. Must have discontinued that little perk
I think it’s an add-on option
Thanks for the video. Always learn something
Cheers Larry!
I suspect that the calibration should be done without the rubber mat on
I should think as long as you tare before you calibrate, it shouldn't matter if you have the mat on or not?
Thanks for this vid. Super fun to watch! Coffee shelves are awesome. Who makes them?
Hey, thank you! The shelf I found second hand actually, not sure the brand. I had some wooden ones made now custom, so only in Barcelona ;)

It's durable!
Bluesocks 11 if you're based in the U.S. you can get the shell replaced without having to buy a new unit. Reach out to their support email.

micro usb is extremely outdated, i'll buy one when they switch to usb-c...

@@6md most tech still uses those.
Tbh i dont think you need a usb-c to charge a scale with digital screen, its just overdoing it.
