In statement, reported by Rap-Up, Ciara denied those rumors but did say that she did not have the full support of her label on the album. She said the release of "Gimmie Dat" went against label wishes and it wasn't the first time that the label and herself had disagreed over singles. "...I even tried to get 'Gimmie Dat' started I spent tens of thousands of my own money only to hear the radio pds tell me my label didn't want the song played. I even spent more than one hundred thousand dollars out of my pocket on the video to bring my vision to it and still no label support."

sabrina thegoodwitch not true.. Beyoncé doesn't have shit to do with the downfall of Ciara. look at how successful Rihanna is and she started in 2005 & Ciara in 2004. Ciara's downfall was her team. She wasn't marketed properly.. she wasn't getting the good songwriters she should have nor producers. As people grew out of her crumping music she still was singing it.
Another downfall was her vocal ability & the "man" rumors that didn't get addressed until a year later.

Rihanna can not sing well live but that beat down she took is what made her who she is today. i do not think her being a man had nothing to do with her music. she had the people to write and produce for her. A great example is the DECLINING SALE OF RIHANNA IN 2009 when she got beat up!. No one really supported "Rated R" cause the album seemed "too dark" and her "Last Girl on Earth tour" was selling tickets for $1.
Rihanna got big in 2007 from Umbrella.. that's how her career took off, and the fact that she has been non-stop with hits. If Ciara had that type of management she would have been good. SHE EVEN TALKS ABOUT IT. she had to switch labels cause she wasn't under good management or promotion. and wasn't marketed properly.

To me, and anyone else that has any knowledge of RnB and hip hop music, she isn't anything like Beyoncé. She's a mix of Janet and Aaliyah which in my eyes is absolute heaven on earth. You can't get better than that. She has the soft sound to her voice like Janet and Aaliyah, the sensuality of both ladies. The videography of Janet, the dance ability of both although she has a more hip hop dance style than Janet did and the performance ability of both. I LOVE Beyoncé but she doesn't need to be compared to her when there are far better comparisons if indeed they should be made at all.

This & "Ride" deserved to have been promoted better during the 2010 era of "Basic Instinct". The beats were pretty tight & the dancing sequences in both videos were spontaneously HOT. Ci-Ci definitely took a few pages outta Janet J's dancing book and delivered nothing short but of excellency here.

The label really dropped the ball for this era and album. I remember it took this forever to call out after “Ride” being released over the summer. Then she released a mixtape saying the album was going to come out August 17 then it actually released in December.

I hate Jive records. I'm happy they went defunct. They leaked her fantasy ride album, then pushed its release date back (after making Ciara record songs she didn't want too).
Then when Ciara wanted to go back to RnB and Urban Pop to reconnect with her fan base, they got *angry* and yanked this off of all radio stations. Imagine how much bigger Ciara could be if Jive had actually handled her projects with the same care they did Britney and Chris.
