Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five, through funding shared by Dolly Parton and local community partners in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Republic of Ireland. Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write Dolly started her Imagination Library in 1995 for the children within her home county. Today, her program spans five countries and gifts over 2 million free books each month to children around the world. Dolly Parton is a national treasure.
Dollywood owned and operated by Dolly Parton. A few years ago 2 teenage punk boys set the National Forest there on fire. Homes were lost, cities near Gatlinburg, and Gatlinburg itself. Gateway to the Smokey Mountains! Dolly donated millions to those who lost their homes and businesses. A couple months ago when Hurricane Helene wiped out Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee, again, Dolly got Walmart and herself to donate millions to those who lost everything! You two need to watch her movie: 9 to 5.👍👍
Everybody loves Dolly. We are proud that Dolly is from Tennessee, and her theme park is in Eastern TN. When the state is bookended by Dollywood and Graceland- and Music City is in the middle- you know we have a lot of fun. And Dollywood has SO MANY entertainment performances that were not in their vid! Every child on our street (including ours) has been lucky to be part of Dolly's Imagination Library program- a book every month from age 0-6. And Recky, love always for that 101st shirt.
Oh, you have to check out Jolly eating the hot Nashville chicken. It's hilarious! This video will be rough, if you're already hungry. Carol, that look @ 24:23.
I work 10 minutes from DW. 🙂 Lazerport Fun Center (arcade) in Pigeon Forge.. There's SO MUCH to do around here that you can't even come CLOSE to doing it all in a week, a MONTH, or a YEAR!!
Kettlecorn is delish! Only slightly sweet. One of my favorite live Dolly Parton performances is from when she was visiting Sweden and sang "I will Always Love You" on The tv show Bingolotto. Absolutely incredible performance.
Hey! I wanted to say, Dollywood is in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Dolly Parton was raised poor. She’s elderly now, but still performs beautifully. One of my favorite hit songs is Coat of Many Colors, referencing Joseph in The Holy Bible. She’s a generous and kind southern lady. We love her.
If you ever feel adventurous, the recipe for Dolly Parton’s Cinnamon Bread can be found online. Also, that’s a regular size Turkey Leg sold in the markets here in the states. They’re incredibly inexpensive (like $1.50 each), because it’s considered a byproduct of the bird. Most of the Turkey’s meat is cut and used for other purposes, so they sell these damn cheap. When smoked with hickory, they take on a ham-like flavor…kind of.
Because of you showing a video, I have watched several of theirs. Their SO funny. And love their reactions as well. You like Dolly, you have to hear "Try" by her. Amazing lyrics !!!!!! I listen to a lot.
I THINK Dolly is at least 1/2 owner of Dollywood. Tho she has at least a part owner who 'manages' it. She's quite involved in parts/changes etc... but mainly she does her (music/acting) thing, and they do the rest. But she's involved in any changes that might occur that are 'big'. 2nd fave park in the USA after Cedar Point in Ohio.
Recky, If you and Carol do come to America, PLEASE go to Dollywood! It would be such a great video! A day pass costs about $90. Of course food is separate. but oh what fun it would be to watch both of you!!
Recky don't be jealous,be inspired. You have a smoker now so get after it Carol you did fantastic looking at the rides.Great job.The spicy chicken video should be an equalizer on Recky😊.
Historic note: Conway Twitty intended to build a place of his own after seeing the success of Dollywood . It was to be called, Twitty City but he died suddenly.
I think it's really cool to hear that Carol likes Dolly Parton. Recky, you're definitely gonna have to take her to Tennessee for Dollywood and then y'all could go to Graceland and play like in Zombieland 2. Plus I bet it would take all the apples in your tree to make that size apple pie. I knew y'all would react like that when y'all saw that slice of pie.
@0:50 guy let me tell you 1st hand that queen dolly is the biggest sweet heart. I met her in 2000 when I was 17 I went to Dollywood Dec. 3rd it was for my birthday(my birthday is November 29th) and maybe it was planned but I was in state custody at that time and she was in the park that night. And when my girls was born we got the imagination library books. I live 2 hours from Sevierville, pigeon forge, Gatlinburg.
I grew up around there. I can remember the only thing in pigeon Forge, which is where Dollywood is eastern Tennessee. The only thing there was a black bear that was kept in a cage and a Coke machine. You could buy a Coke for nickel and give it to the bear and he would sit down and drink it, literally that was the only thing there could be in Gatlinburg and 10 minutes 15 tops since Dollywood was built. It takes four hours to drive five or 10 miles it’s very depressing
The key to properly baking an apple pie as thick as that is using a recipe that includes a pre-cooked apple pie filling, rather than starting off with raw apples. It's easy to know when that kind of pie is done cooking is when your crust is done. You don't have to worry about whether your apples are still crunchy in the middle.
Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin waterpark central, there are several theme parks in the state and northern Illinois. In the USA you could spend weeks on vacation in theme parks in many states
I feel the anxiety Carol! I am afraid of heights , I can't watch the coasters without my palms tingling and sweating , I can't even watch a movie like Cliff Hanger where Sylvester Stallone tries to save the girl .
Hello from Denver Colorado we have an amusement park in downtown Denver called ... Six flags at elitch gardens and we have that Tower drop ride we call it the Tower of Doom I've done it once and that's all I need to do it literally felt like all of my insides were coming up and out of my head
You should react to the Graham Goes to Dollywood video series starting with part 1. Dolly herself gives UK talk show host Graham Norton a personal tour.
Carol, I was terrified of heights until I decided to face them head on, by going skydiving. I am no longer afraid of heights, but I will never skydive again. 🤣 That free fall before you open your chute is just…😱😳😵💫😬 Love from Houston, Texas ♥️🇺🇸🇸🇪
Its a must see place in Tennessee along with Gatlinburg, which is just a few minutes from DollyWood theme park. And don't miss taking one of the roller coasters that you can actually control the speed down the side of the mountain.
I haven't been to Dollywood since I was a little kid, but now I want to go back and pay the entrance fee just so I can go buy some of that cinnamon bread!
A lot of people get season passes just to watch the people, the shows, shop in the stores. You see just as many old people sitting on the benches around the park as you do kids running from one ride to another.
Dolly Parton only owns 25% of Dollywood. Herschend Family Entertainment owns the rest of Dollywood and just paid her to put her name on it. The sister park to this one is called Silver Dollar City, which is in Branson, Missouri. The opposite of a drop tower is an S&S SpaceShot Tower. Theme parks don't have weight restrictions on rides, only waterparks do. For theme parks, anyone can ride as long as they fit in the seat. Some rides even have Oversized seats for bigger people. The recommended weight and size is 300 pounds or under and size 52" waist or under. Almost every park has a test seat at the ride entrance for rides that some people can't fit on. You guys can still go on the family rides and kiddie rides. You don't have to do thrill rides. You can also watch the rides, watch a show, go thru a Funhouse, do other small hidden themed stuff, go shopping, try samples of food, see lights, play games, ride water rides, and spray water at people on water rides.
Don't worry Carol. I'm with you on being afraid of rollercoasters. I almost came out of one when I was little back in the 60's. I was so tiny that I started sliding out from under the safety bar and the only thing keeping me in was my parents holding onto me. I've hated them ever since. With all of the safety measures and height requirements I never would have been allowed on one at that young age nowdays.
One quick story: I was on my first roller coaster and I couldn't scream. I was with family and I wanted to try a roller coaster once. That was the only time ever I went. After that I refused any roller coasters. Even the kiddie ones.
Another fun Jolly video! Also have huge fear of heights. Even trying to watch footage of someone being up high, or spinning, my body responds as if I'm actually experiencing it. :( I'd join Carol on a park bench, safely on the ground, while the others were off flying, falling, etc. Can't help but think of all the food that goes to waste given how big the portions are. Carol's parents are on their way or, perhaps, have already arrived? Have a great weekend!
It's not just "Americans do this" - it's a crummy ol' amusement park-!! That's the amazing - AND TRUTHFUL. Also, we microwave these for 25-30 seconds and MMMM.

In Dolly we trust.

I’ve got to go there some day. Love Dolly Parton and food 😊
She is smart, sassy, and a true, real honest-to-grace angel = love you, thank you Dolly

Wearing matching t shirts makes it easier to find each other in a crowd!
unless there was a sale lol. be sure to double check you've got the right man!
I love how Carol rolls her eyes when they tried the brisket/pulled pork sandwiches!😂❤
This is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennesse. A great place to spend a vacation.

I found YOU RECKY & CAROL FROM WATCHING JOLLY
🤘🥰🤜🤛🥰 OVER THE YEARS FULL CIRCLE
I live about an hour a half away from Dolly Parton. It's here in Eastern Tennessee.

Check out Christmas at Dollywood. It's beautiful. Carol will love it
If you love theme parks for the food and not for the rides then the best day to go is a rainy day.
Maybe that is what you two should base your tour of the US on. Theme parks. Put Carol on all the really tall rides. 😁

Dolly Parton may be the only thing all Americans agree on. I've loved her since I first watched her as a child on the Porter Wagoner Show.
Yes Dolly Parton owns Dollywood
It's my birthday, so have some joy from me!!!!!
Oh!! Thank you and happy birthday 🎉🎉🌹❤️🎉🎉

Oh man.... Spicy food without ice cream or milk is an extremely bad idea....
Just to let u know dolly wood is 150 acres in size
Heat up the cinnamon bread the next day or even two and it will still be good to eat.
I am with you Carol , I would not be caught dead on one of those rollercoster rides my feet belong on the ground where God intended them to be.
I was thinking, how much would you have to buy for there to be some left for the day after?

Oh Recky, you need to mature your taste buds. They are like a baby's.
In fact, a Texas baby's palate is more adventurous than yours.
First comment!!
🤷🏻
Recky says he doesn't like sweet and salty. Im pretty sure you loved the reese's peanut butter covered pretzels.
