  • This video is about Day 10 of our South Korea travel series where we spent time visiting Yongmeori Coast, Jungmun Beach, Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff, famous waterfalls and the Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market on our second day on Jeju Island.
Our first stop was Yongmeori Coast which is one of the most famous places to visit in Jeju. The breathtaking view of rock formations, the sea, and the sky! It's a rocky coastline where Mt Sanbangsan stretches into the ocean and features unique cliff formations that have turned the coast into a stunning walk. Here you can also meet the Haenyeos, women sea-divers of Jeju who sell fresh raw seafood like sea cucumber, sea snail, and sea squirt.

Jeju is gifted with 3 famous waterfalls and all of them are located at Seowigpo, the Southern part of Jeju Island. We did not go to all and instead choose two of them, Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls and the Jeongbang waterfall.
The Cheonjeyeon Waterfall offers the chance to view three different waterfalls all in one place. Expect the round-trip trail to the three waterfalls to be right around 1 mile / 1.6 km in length. During this short trail, you will have the opportunity to walk along the pathways, take in the waterfalls & pools, visit a famous bridge, and get some beautiful views of Jeju. If you would like to visit all three waterfalls, expect to spend around 45-60 minutes around the area.
    Open between 9:00AM and 7:00PM

Our next stop was Jungmun Beach which is one of the famous beaches on Jeju Island. It is strategically located in Jungmun's tourist complex area. This extensive sandy beach is over 500 meters long of pure white sand. The beach slopes gently towards the sea, which has an average depth of over one meter only. The white sand is mixed with some shades of grey, reddish, and black sand. Compared to other beaches on Jeju Island, Jungmun Beach's waves are stronger. This feature makes this Beach famous among surfers.

Post the beach fun, we stopped by a McDonald for a quick lunch before proceeding to Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff which is another cliff formation when the lava from Mt. Hallasan erupted into the sea of Jungmun. The volcanic rock formed into various shapes like pillars, cubes, or hexagons along the coast at the southern of Jeju Island.

Our next stop was Jeongbang Waterfall which is the only waterfall in Asia that falls directly into the ocean. To reach the bottom of the waterfall, you need to walk down several steps and some big slippery rocks to get the best vantage point for viewing.
