Also he never seems to have to reload even though he only has a 30 round magazine and with the amount of rounds he fired his ak would be so hot no way he could touch it it’s be smoking if not on fire

LAPD is also unlikely to be investing that much money into placing hundreds to probably a thousand pound of extra armor onto Dodge Chargers kit them up to the degree of what SF has, they just don't have that type of budget for it. Not just only for monetary reasons, but that car is meant to go faster, be more mobile and agile; putting thick armor on it (that it clearly doesn't have based on what we see in the show) completely defeats the purpose of the Charger in the first place. Also gas mile-age would be horrific with all that shit on if it wanted to stop 7.62x39 rounds. That's what they have the Bearcat for, which they surprisingly and eventually used. Your average civilian non-armored cars aren't gonna stop shit, not even 9mm, much less AK rounds from shredding it. The only safe spot from a civilian car would be behind the engine block. Anywhere else, even 9mm would likely go through and through, albeit with trajectory change. 5.56, 5.45, 7.62x51/39mm, basically anything above NATO rounds is gonna go through car doors like it wasn't even there. Even if those doors are lightly armored, I would not want to use that as cover if guy is sending volleys of 7.62s at me. There's a big difference between concealment and cover. Using a car door is at best concealment, but tbh probably wouldn't be considered that either because you're not concealing shit if the enemy can see your legs or feet. Now general police cars, or at least in large cities like LA with larger budgets, have a ballistic panel built in between the doors on patrol cars. But I'm pretty sure most of them are rated NIJ Lvl 3A armor, so they'll stop handgun rounds up to like .44 magnums. Rifle calibers, not even accounting for armor piercing rounds or extreme penetrators are probably going to cut through it like butter, especially if it's not just 1 round impacting the car.
