The song for the first clip was so cool, I had to hunt it down (not as easy twenty years ago). It's called, "Time is Running Out" by Apollo 440. I know that techno remixes aren't everybody's cup of tea, but I'd still recommend to anyone.
For all its shortcomings, there is an above average soundtrack for this little flick. The musical score (as opposed to song tracks like this, which I also like) is pretty good. @ 1911s are great, there’s a reason Delta used them well into the GWOT but Kimbers? Eh. I have one I love it, it’s never let me down but they do have a rep of being unreliable.
I feel like for a movie that came out in 2003, before more effort was put in to get the realistic tactics, techniques, and procedures you see in some films nowadays, it does alright. It was also a film adaptation of the TV show, so there's some cheese and campiness to it. You didn't include the montage that I thought was probably the best part of the film where they are working through the shoot houses. Shows the hours and hours it takes to get comfortable with your team and learn the tactics. Still not the most tactically accurate, but it captures the flow of a team moving through a structure. As a 16yo kid, I was so hard for it. So much so that I ended up getting into it in real life. So yeah, now I can point out all the mistakes, but at the time it was magical.
a former Delta Force describes this film's tactical everything as "riddled with bufoonery" even Rambo 2 got a higher score than this on his realism level
6:35 until this moment, having seen this film a lot, I never noticed his gun jammed with a failure to eject. No attempt to clear the jam either. Weird how he still wins without even firing all his shots.
I've been watching this movie for years and I just now realize that at minute 6:30 there is a gun jam and the scene continues as if nothing happened. They give him the win but in reality he didn't shoot all the shots.
6:20 are run-down ranges common in America? Back in my basic, we had to shoot from 300m then run down to 200, 100, 50 and finally 15. And we never used metal targets for fear of ricochet.
Depends on where you are, and steel targets always have ammo restrictions like hollow points only or pistols only, and of course you can't get right up on them like paper targets because ricochets and shrapnel are still a threat. They're also used on long distance ranges so you can hear the shot impact.
In a real situation it could have, but with paintball or airsoft the only utility would have been suppressive fire, and then for some reason it didn't even raise the alarm, I honestly think it's stupid, I've done milsim in real life and I assure you that even if the shots don't go through the walls they still have a psychological impact in terms of suppression .
The tech advisor in this film was either an idiot or the director didn’t give a sh*t what he said. Spare me the “tactical masterpiece” mumbo jumbo-if you want a good gunfight, just pull up the Heat bank robbery scene and enjoy the show.
I'd imagine it depends on who exactly is the local PD...if it's some small and incompetent force like Uvalde... probably better to call in FBI HRT... considering LAPD invented the whole SWAT concept ... i'd imagine they'd be ok on their own.
This movie was cool back in the day but honestly, as a SWAT operation, I can say the tactics are not too clean or realistic in some of the things they do. Granted, its a movie, I get it.
Yeah ok. So they never hear the line slap the fuselage when it's fired over, never hear the carabiner drag over the skin, the magnesium torch doesn't set anything on fire, the guy being lifted onto the roof is silent, the terrorist doesn't just shoot through (or notify anyone) the access door in the floor when they first lift it up and no terrorist reacts with the first 2 shots (yes paintball gun but in real life??). Tactical materpiece my a**.
Not even paintball guns. Simunition. Think a blank that propels a paintball like marker. While quieter than real ammunition, because it can't be as much powder or you break the marker as it's fired, they still sound closer to real ammo than paintball guns.
Speaking of the series, more than the movie, do you remember the episode where Kamile Erkan tries to kill Cado to avenge his sister? Well, I would have preferred Cado to actually be dead. It would have been much more satisfying.
