Needs to learn how to score, and like high level scoring. For next 10 years you have ja, luka, trae as 3 out of 6 all nba spots unless josh learns how to score 25 a game. He will have to fight it out with booker, lamelo, ant, spida, lavine, garland for the last 3 spots plus all the guys in prime right now in harden, kyrie, steph, demar. I wouldn’t say the Thunder aren’t close even. Most people don’t know they are a top 10 defense without a real center or consistent rim protection. Adding a guy like Jabari/Paolo/Chet to this roster opens up so many things on both sides of the court and easily vaults them into play in range.

It’s remarkable to think one of the best playmaking guards in the NBA is 19. He’s the most complete young playmaker to come into the league since Rubio. I hope he watches a ton of Luka video to see how he uses his handle and body to get anywhere he wants, either to his spots to score or kick to teammates. That’s the guy he needs to model just to get some individual scoring moves. He may never develop to that level, but if he can fill the gaps with some Nash-like playmaking, at his size with his rebounding, that’s a very good player.

Giddy's so young and has great playmaking instincts but if his shot doesn't improve and consistently get more lift and fluidity, he is going to get eaten up in the playoffs ( if the Thunder ever make the leap). Defenses notoriously get tougher and scheme more deliberately for specific tendencies & habits as games become more meaningful. Creating consistent space for his shot will be even more crucial. Right now, it seems to me he has a high end Ricky Rubio ceiling, which isn't bad at all but he also has years to improve, he's still just a teenager. Good luck Giddy-man.

I don’t think they should Right now. If they can get a good forward in the next draft then maybe but I don’t want them to be the next team who has insane guard play and a good center only to miss a sf.
Dort can play sf and he plays bigger than he is but he still not a real sf. And I don’t see Bazley being more than a good 6th man.
I mean Shai and giddey can play sf but you want both of them in the backcourt.

Ayton is RFA and as trolly as Presti can be, you can bet both your nut sacks that James Jones matches whatever price OKC proposes and convinces Sarver otherwise that its the move to make. You are on the right track that this OKC team has a lot of promising complimentary talent that can work harmoniously with better players. They may not make noise now with the roster but wait till maybe 2024 when some nice names off their first extension are in the market.

Don’t sleep on Tre Mann. Giddey looks like the real deal. Wiggins is really intuitive on the court for a rookie. The Thunder with a starting caliber front court will be ready to make a run in the near future.

One of them has to turn into an elite player for OKC to get to that conversation. Presti had no brainers in Durant/Westbrook/Harden that allowed him to get to the Finals. He has guys now that would make great 2nd~5th options but not one guy who is the inevitable super skilled bucket go-getter.

Hopefully OKC and Sam Presti plan to cash in with all those picks and young players, start wninning some games find some help for SGA, Dort and Giddey who are untouchable. I was hoping they would try to trade for both Sabonis and Grant, they have the cap.
Giddey, Shai, Dort, Grant and Sabonis is a reallt good starting 5 in the West.
They just need a really need to find star big man.
