  • Clear Lake is located at the base of fabled Mt. Konocti and is California’s largest natural lake. Much of the terrain around the 4200 foot Mt. Konocti was formed by lava flows and folding of the earth’s crust. The lake has a rich history; evidence of human habitation dates back at least ten thousand years. More than 120,000 visitors each year enjoy picnicking, boating, camping and nature walks.
Huell travels to the this natural wonder and gets a very special tour including Anderson Marsh State Historic Park which has a very rich history itself. The Park contains 1,065 acres of oak woodland, grass covered hills, and tule marsh at the southeast end of Clear Lake. It has a rich Native American history and the original Anderson family home is open to the public for tours. Huell travels the marsh and lake by boat and learns about the rich natural and human history that makes Clear Lake such a wonderful example of California’s Gold.

Lake county is a beautiful place to live too. I’ve called it home since 1980. Ty❤

I would love to know, is Clearlake as bad as they say crime wise, and drug wise. I was considering making a move, but I've been warned its a terrible place to live. Also when people refer to Clearlake when describing crime etc, are they referring to just the town of Clearlake or the entire area around the Clear Lake? Hope you respond. Thanks.

@@rockingredpoppy9119 Clearlake is a typical California town for its size with plenty of poor residents mixed in with wealthy ones most of whom are also typically friendly Californians. I have lived all over our great state and I love it here 🙂

I’m trying to figure out how old this is. I know I watched it before. Many years ago. I believe Huell & the park ranger are no longer around. 😞 I’ve hiked all those trails at Anderson Marsh. A very special place. I love the replica native village they erected near the Audubon acreage.
