So long ago. I met Art around 1972-73 at his home in Cambria and liked him immediately. He was open, so unique and interesting I asked him if I could bring up my students to meet him and tour him home. The children loved the visit and were intrigued by this unique man living in such a home he continued to build. I have never met anyone who reminded me of Art and I don't believe I ever will. He remains one of many old friends I would love to see and talk with again... Fall 2024

I’m trying to figure out how old this is. I know I watched it before. Many years ago. I believe Huell & the park ranger are no longer around. 😞 I’ve hiked all those trails at Anderson Marsh. A very special place. I love the replica native village they erected near the Audubon acreage.

I've driven, biked and walked over the bridge on my own feet, bikes and cars many times. Also many times under it on my boats I have flown in WWII bombers and other smaller airplanes over it.

In the last 40 years, I have also seen the GG Bridge from Lands End near the (now defunct) Cliff house in SF, and from Marin County (Point Bonita), and also coming into the Golden Gate from the Farralon islands in my boat. I will always remember each.

Ok, so I will make the first comment on this CA Gold Fan channel... I work for Joe Rinaudo and was in the room when this was filmed. Huell would call us from time to time to say this was his most popular and most requested show. He was a great guy and his death was a great loss to Southern California.

There are at least 700 known bodies found under and around the Palace of Legion of Honor- that whole area including the park around it use to be Potters Cemetery where the poor buried their loved ones. When they did the seismic upgrading and had to dig pits around building, it was a scene out of a horror movie- the amount of skeletal remains- many of the night security guards quit because it was way to spooky to work the late shift around open graves. All covered up and no one really knows about it. Back when they were building the park area, bulldozers would be pushing up human bones. Most of the coffins and caskets were of very poor grade so all that is left are human remains in the earth. If you go to the park, the only thing left above ground is a Chinese temple - but what you don't see is the remains of early San Franciscians whose remains are left there.
