    Great content. People outside of the sport, and even many internal to it, really never understand the impact of maximal training on the CNS. New training overload equals more CNS impact.

    thanks for this. id like to see your setup in the f8, hand setting in particular

    I do really have to agree with you I don't deload either I lift heavy and I lift hard and my body likes it that way so I just keep doing it that way. I am almost 60 years old. I recently developed bursitis in one of my elbows so I have had to back way off temporarily. Minor setback. It is a marathon and not a sprint. Thank you for the validation my friend. Keep killing it.

      Kole, imagine if you got the F8 Band Shirt. As long as you have strong spotters, 1,000 lb. equipped bench press is possible. Has your bursitis in your elbow gotten better in the last five months?

      @@kevinspirek8395 elbow is healed up. I ended up partially tearing my tricep tendon, but did 750 for a triple last weekend. I plan on getting an f8 so I can get over the 1000 pound press.

      @@kolecarterbenches, was your 750 lb. triple using a Bench Daddy Double? I hope the triceps tendon tear won't impact your heavy lifting in the future. Would surgery help the triceps tendon to heal correctly?

      @@kevinspirek8395 no I healed it up using branched chain amino acids. It was a double ply bench daddy. I have a double ply Darksyde slingshot that I use when I go over 800. It takes 800+ to get the weight down to touch

    Good talk on the CNS!

    In terms of cns recovery, you mentioned simple things like food, sleep, working with lighter weights. Are there more complex strategies? Chiropractic, body work, certain supplements, sex, church, etc

    I have never seen or read anyone explain this as effectively as you did. Your last video is responsible for my recent breakthrough on my bench. Thank You!
    Will you be at Tiny Meekers Baddest Bencher in May?

    What's your raw bench? Just wondering if you could hit 800lbs before julious maddox.
    He seems to have missed the mark.

    Thanks for your info bro. I watched your last video about cns and used the principles last night for bench. My goal is 405 raw so I trained eccentric 435 +33lb chain to the rack for 1 set. My max is somewhere between 360 370. So my question is how many sets reps should I do specifically for a cns workout?

    • @Kolbstrong
      @Kolbstrong  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      For raw you can achieve a CNS overload simply by doing a heavy hold, or doing heavy doubles or singles with some sort of sling shot tool. You have to handle weights far above your 1 rep max to achieve this.

    Hey Jimmy, how often do you go up to those weights (1300 plsu)?

      So far just once. But more to come once I’ve adjusted to it.

  • @Evanmonster1

    Hey Jimmy. As you know, Danial Zamani, from Iran is just 5lbs shy of hitting a 800lbs raw bench press. I know you mostly do shirted bench pressing, but do you aspire to one day take the raw record as well? And if so, do you think you could reach the 800lbs raw bench mark? Lovin' the videos you put up!

    • @Kolbstrong

      There’s such an endless laundry list of things I want to accomplish equipped, things that may take up my next 10 years of competing. If my body is not broken by that time, I feel like raw would be a good route to go. Raw may more or less be at the tail end of my competitive career, when I’m not physically capable of doing these equipped numbers. But only time will tell :) and of course, I would naturally want to pursue being the best ever.

      @@Kolbstrong That would be really cool to see! Btw, Scot Mendelson and Ryan Kennelly, have been mentioning you quite a bit. In fact, the way I found out about you was on Ryan Kennelly's BenchmonsterTV show, here on youtube. Would you ever go on Ryan's show? Or go to Scot's gym and do a bench workout? He had Dave Hoff come down for a bench session 7 years ago. It was cool to see those two in action.

    I've always been like this with deads. I can only pull heavy every 2 weeks and the other week I do a deadlift variation to recover. Bench I've never had a problem with. Obviously no where near your numbers.

  • @timtwing5886
    @timtwing5886 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wouldn't taking it easy be deloading? Deloading is anything easier outside of your normal weekly or monthly routine with weight, sets, reps, time in gym. Deloading is dialing it back in some way. So you do deload?
