@@808savion truly ridiculous. I thought I was the only one who is alone in this sentiment consul edition is truly better than the new bedrock, which is like a poorly put together a mobile game. The original was so much more stable and let’s bloated with crap and new updates that truly killed and took away from the originality and simplism of Minecraft.
Can we talk about the best feature that i wish we had?ähem "leave without saving" came in clutch with griefers i swear, and maps that load WHILE you move😊
I remember playing Pocket Edition with some guy. Then one time he came over and played PS4 edition with me all day. I haven’t seen him in like, 8 years now…
Console edition got cancelled not because Microsoft didn't want people getting confused between the two versions on consoles, but because they knew if players had a choice, nobody would pick the microtransaction infested, poorly programmed Bedrock or "Better Together" edition.
yea that would make sense. Sometimes I play bedrock cause of the crossplatform so even if they had both options i would still play both. Wish we just had legacy option back at least even if they wanted to profit off of it
there needs to be a shader pack or something recreates the console edition graphics. idk what it is something about the lighting but its nostalgic asf and i wish i could still play it that way now
Something not mentioned as much as it should've been was that there were roughly 10+ free texture packs with free maps which came with it. 10+ skin packs with 5 or more free textures in each.
I’d be more willing to play bedrock edition if they’d make it feel more like the java edition/legacy console edition. The lighting system is just off, the way mobs move and act just feel… wrong, there’s so many weird bugs that they still haven’t fixed after several years… and for the love of god, can we talk about how great the ui sounds were for legacy console edition? That’s a feature I’d want to see even in java edition. This video brought back so many good memories, and man I’d just love to relive them 100 times over.
And I wish the terrain generation was better I miss having flat plain biomes in normal worlds Im tired of seeing there weird mountain and giant cave holes in these new terrains 🥲
Considering they had to split caves and cliffs into 3 (or 2, I can't remember) different updates, it's pretty clear they are struggling to manage even 1 year updates which is why I think it's fine. It's not necessarily their fault either, java and bedrock use completely different languages, so they technically have to code the updates twice.
Saying minecraft fell off is just wrong. It is one of the most popular games of all time and is still played by millions and millions of people. If Mojang weren’t making enough money off of it to make an income and satisy Microsoft’s greed, Microsoft would have given the order to make something new and slow down with Minecraft
As a Minecraft Console Edition player, I agree that this version was goated and still is. And yes, there is a small community there and it's probably not leaving anytime soon. I'm apart of it. Also, the community there calls the edition "Legacy Edition".
I'm also part of the community that still plays Legacy Console. Although I moved to Java after they changed the main console edition to bedrock, I still visit the mash-up worlds, my old worlds, and play a few minigames with my bro once in a while
As an ex-console edition (ps4) player, I can say that it wasn't "months" but at least like 3 YEARS to get the shield. Yes. Shields were added with 1.14. Elytras were added a bit earlier sure but that took at least a year after the java release too And yes on ps4 our last update was 1.14, the universal bedrock edition came with 1.15 Edir: oh yeah it just came to my mind, 1.10 came earlier than 1.9 to minecraft. We had FRICKING POLAR BEARS EARLIER THAN THE END CITIES DUDE
Ahh the nostalgia. Whenever I visited my friend we'd flock to her PS4 to play legacy edition. So many builds and so much fun. Just the right amount of blocks. 1.14 was perfect IMO
I only had PS3 for the longest time, and I eventually switched to pocket edition for the Aquatic Update(I believe PS3 didn't get it). I remember playing battle, tumble, and especially glide(which me and my brother got really good at) with my siblings. Now I rarely get to hang out with them, and my older brother is going off to college in a few months. How time flies 😢. I miss those minigames, they were the best, and even after building a PC and playing minigames, I still think battle, tumble, and glide were way funner.
@@justinprice7484 I always liked the PS3 version of Minecraft because I didn't have to buy PS Plus to play online, I don't have the original console or game because it was my older brother's stuff but now that I got my own console and game I still think it holds up good
Very amazing video, here are a few additions: 1. You can't forget about the Wii U edition of Minecraft released in December 2015. Alltough it was late, it's were me and many others started to play the console edition of the game. 2. Voicechat. I feel like that was simply the most amazing feature in the Console Edition and was perfect for an 8 player game. Back then nobody really used discord or skype as most people only had their console, so being able to talk to your friends ingame was just different.
What helped Console feel complete was that the elements felt properly integrated like phantom membranes which were used for more than one use. The items had intuitive crafts that people asked for. What would fix Minecraft again is a dirt update with many new crafts using a single block like how nether quartz was so influential along with redstone. Armor trims helped diamonds out making over 6 crafts per ore. Tools, armor, trims, blocks, spyglass, redstone, etc. Stripped logs helped to give a new exquisite palette of blocks for the axe. The shovel, clock, and maybe hoe are now the only tools that have too few uses.
I started playing Minecraft WiiU ~2017 and made my survival world the day the aquatic update came out. I got the WiiU in the smbu pack and never actually tried miiverse but anyways nice vid.
Really good Vid bro! I really miss the the old Minecraft console edition. I remember when it would rain outside and I'd be inside loading into new new world with friends. I think it was a combination of the simple music, sfx, and softer pastel color palate/textures that really made it special. Since it was before the aquatic, nether and cave update, it really focused the "Craft" part of Minecraft and being creative with what you had, especially when building. Now Minecraft seems to heavily lean on the "Mine" aspect with the updates. I just really missed the simplicity of the legacy version and maybe it'll comeback revamped one day! Again great vid man, 10/10 ❤
The pink screen glitch actually got fixed this year or last year in one of the minecraft snapshots. I forgot which one it was, but I remember it did happen.
Yea I was kind of confused when researching cause i saw vids saying it was back but idk if it was just clickbait. But yea I just said it continued for years in the video because I wasn’t sure if it was still a thing
Bro. Playing the trial of minecraft where you were locked to only the start of the tutorial world. Getting the disc was one of the greatest birthday gifts ever
I remember playing this on my WiiU and I bought this game when it first came out in 2015 and I loved every minute of it I met a lot of good people on Miiverse and on Legacy Edition,I always wondered how there doing and such gets me thinking about the good times we had
One of the things that saved PS4 Multiplayer was communities, allowed me to meet so many people, some of which i am still friends with. it was a large part of my childhood
Man after watching this video I could just remember going back home after school, finishing my food and instantly hopping on my xbox360 to play Minecraft. Golden era of my childhood, I mostly played the demo until I finally got the full game. Beautiful memories (my mom gave away my console few years ago but I still have the joy I experienced)
Athletic Steve mentioned I’m subscribing and liking this video very epic also that tiny little ewok sackboy very happy to know I wasn’t the only who still talks about these skins
I remembered not being able to have the paid PS3 version of Minecraft so I replayed the demo, speed ran the tutorial, and just wandered around. As I was wandering I remember the shock and excitement I had just randomly stumbling on the Stampy house and from then onwards I would replay the demo and go there just to pretend I discovered it again.
Minecraft console edition also had alot of Texture pack content. Adventure time, Pirates' of the carabinan, Nightmare before Christmas, Halo & Fallout as well as a Christmas & Halloween maps.
Me and my sibling loved visiting those mash-ups worlds, exploring in survival, and hearing the music. I would use Tennis Steve as my skin and he would alternate. We also played the minigames and had two main worlds, with the nostalgic textures and music. I just wish it got more attention
Hey man I just watched the video and agree completely minecraft legacy has a certain spark to it that makes me love it so much I was also pleasantly surprised to see my video pop up i was not expecting it lol but I do I appreciate it thanks man! 😂
The other day on my WiiU console world I rode a boat through an end gateway from the end city to the dragon fight and on the map it showed my arrow at the entrance gateway and the dragon healthbar was gone and I couldn’t exit the boat and breaking end stone worked normal but placing anything even entities deleted the block I placed it on instantly and I was in creative so I rode the boat ,while somehow being able to crouch/sprint, into the void where it deposited me at -63 and I was flying and the boat was hovering there, not falling. I checked out the see through end pillars because that’s a thing and I decided to fall into the void. I didn’t take damage. I fell ~ 40K blocks then I found out if you drop items it just goes back to your inventory and if you replace a returning item with another it gets squashed horizontally so I decided to save and relog and the game didn’t know what to do because it flickered back and forth and I couldn’t look anymore but when I decided to throw an ender pearl because it was pretty much softlocking me at the bottom corner of the end and I stayed at -63 this time still no dmg and still thinking I’m at end city gateway via map. And the pearl brought me back to the end city gateway. Pretty cool. Also in creative you can pickblock and break a kelp or fence in a 1*1 hole at the same time to get a water source block that can be placed in the nether and needs to be updated. Once you have one put it in an item frame and pickblock until you have enough. A Very useful X-ray glitch I found is swimming into a 1*1*1 hole and block yourself on all sides with blocks like dirt or stone not glass or furnace. You can see the normal up when swimming up and also up to two faces of the cube as transparent. If you save and relog, you teleport to the surface. Also bottom of nether is transparent but hard to find. To get to the nether roof bring a boat to get up chorus fruit to get down minecarts and rails to move around and tnt and ignition to break blocks and also anything else you want and maybe also bring food and armor. Warning that it isn’t normal nether roof. Draining water from a non flowing water column using a dispenser makes the water transparent. Killing mobs can give loot like Power 2 Power2 mending bow (yes, multiple of the same) and you cannot use books on these or it will simplify itself and the only time it actually has an effect is with protection. I got a fireprot7 (max of prot ) gold chest plate from Fire prot 3&4. You can spawn in creative an enderman on a block and above it air then block then air then block then air and it doesn’t put it on the bottom one but the 2nd bottom one Sometimes banners don’t stack and nametags with the same name don’t. You can break the block beneath a grown pumpkin stem. You can make headless pistons. If you set it up right you can have flowing lava next to flowing water. In creative you can enchant any item almost 20 times. Cauldrons can dye. U can craft Notch Apples and leather armor. If you have a bunch of snow golems around a end gateway and put a pumpkin on one side of one of the sideways bedrock on the gateway after 2 snow blocks on the other side you get bedrock in survival. note: it is directional. You can push the end crystals from the dragon fight using pistons I haven’t tested to know if it’s possible to get it to the overworld. You can dupe 9-item crafts with a dispenser that is filled with a material to craft ex diamonds and power it with 3 torches burning from redstone. Fish farms work. Simple 9*10 Villager breeders work. If you haven’t opened a generated chest yet in your world you can push it with any piston and it drops its items. You can reset nether and end. Sometimes when breaking something like a chest or shulker during lag it has a chance to appear as a visual bug that is intangible but appears the same. Happened 3x to me and the first one broke somehow because I probably updated it wrong. Rip minigames soon. Impaling ench works on any mob when in water or rain. Torches levers tripwires etc. be placed behind paintings and paintings can be placed behind sugarcane. Small end/ nether and overworld in order of smallest to biggest. Best enderman farm is the 1 minute one showcased in shulkercrafts vid but put a roof over the ladder so you don’t get attacked when leaving. You want a diverse world when creating a world to get everything and you want to keep it at minimum peaceful for totems or the achievements of killing an elder guardian I don’t have access to jungle, sunflower, an extra heart of the sea, red sand, shrub, playerhead, diamond horse armor unobtainables etc. Also make bulk sorting for anything over a double chest. I have not seen a diamond zombie or chicken jockey but I have seen a baby zombie on another zombie. Hmm.. Console is the best.
I still play legacy lol. The community is still alive here, but the last few months or more has been kind of weird. Glitches have starting to appear there, for example, holding spawn eggs crashed your game (no longer does) and the same happens when trying to use the book and quill. The latest "change" was the lighting on the item textures. It changed for some reason.
I had that book and quill glitch a few months ago. Seems to be fixed now though. Had something to do with the last bedrock update. They still change some core code that affects the old game.
To be fair, bedrock isnt really a buggy mess anymore although the marketplace has good quality content the quality control sucks, for every good marketplace item there are 10 or 20 bad ones.
I still remember the first time I ever opened up Minecraft. I proceed to dig a whole in dirt just to hide from mobs because I had no idea how to play the game. Great times
this version was so good but it sucks that the bedrock edition has so many mechanics that just dont work the same as java unlike the legacy console editions they functioned exactly like java mechanics wise
A lot of people actually said that legacy was similar to how java was but bedrock. Wym though like what are some examples? I always looked at it like console edition went down its own path kind of separate from the other versions
@@808savion redstone on bedrock is different than java while legacy is the same as java. That is the big example. Overall it did take a different path but almost all the mechanics stayed the same.
@@808savionThe basic mechanics of shields was also altered in Bedrock, requiring players to crouch as opposed to using left trigger/right click. In Legacy Console, it functioned like Java.
I still play legacy ps4 edition almost daily, it just feels so much better to play than bedrock. It is a mix of Java and bedrock edition, it’s got the better Java redstone system, but some bedrock features like movable containers and dyeable water in the cauldron with leather armor. The minecarts are also like 2x as fast as Java and bedrock editions, and the game feels more polished compared to bedrock edition, and in some cases Java edition as well. You can choose to manually save the game whenever you want, so if you die you can exit without saving (or just leave it on autosave) And lastly, it has the old 1.8 combat system, which imo is better.
yea fr it definitely wasn’t perfect and didn’t have as much stuff but it had a lot of cool features and quirks. I think they did a lot of stuff to specifically make it play good on console
Actually it's just a mix of console with Java. The thing is, what made it so great was that it didn't include any features from Bedrock. It also has the older music, classic textures, mash-up worlds, skin packs, and the most recent tutorial world. I just miss when it was the default console version
i still play and love playing legacy minecraft, especially xbox one edition as it’s equivalent to 1.12 on java. i’ve made alot of friends who post content about legacy on tiktok and i’m shocked about how much the community has grown in the past year since i’ve seen many more people playing the game!!

damnn thats wild. Its funny cause i remember a couple years ago I tried to play on ps4 and no one was on. now it seems like you can get into a full lobby pretty fast
I was never crazy about minecraft but i remember i played the xbox 360 quite a bit. They had a tutorial world where there was a castle and i loved exploring that thing. The split screen multiplayer gives me so much nostalgia too
For those wanting to experience this version of Minecraft but don't want to boot up an old console there's a newish modpack in development called Re-Console focused around the Legacy4J mod that aims to make a 1:1 recreation of modern minecfaft in Java.
I remember so much from older console minecraft, like when they first launched creative and it didn't work properly cause you could still die and mobs would sometimes still attack you. I remember making a wold with the seed Rainbow Road and the entire thing was just mushroom islands with no trees anywhere, making the entire survival experience impossible. I remember the first time I played with my cousin we spawned in this canyon and not knowing how to craft we just punched different blocks and tried mining through a mountain with fists only, and getting really scared when night came to where we hid in a hole and didn't even cover it up. I remember being carried by an older cousin through the game who actually knew how to get diamonds and gave me a pick and I was obsessed as hell with it cause it was so cool looking I remember thinking the feathers zombies dropped were daggers for whatever reason Good times.
@@808savion I played it day one. I still remember being upset at my dad for not even letting us play on release night and forcing us to wait until we got home from school the following day to try. We were so excited when we got home that day.
I played ps3 a few months before the PS4 came out, and never changed to PS4(my dad skipped straight to the 5 after we played on the 3 for years). I miss the old days.
Bedrock edition sucks and the new music makes it feel like it's not Minecraft. It also looks different and the marketplace and emotes are features that shouldn't exist. Java and Legacy Console are superior to Bedrock
Fun correction: Infinite worlds were missing from old consoles not due to hardware, but because 4J Studios accounted for the lowest storage option available for those systems. Infinite worlds would have been too easy to fill up storage space at those times and the issue can still happen with bedrock on Xbox One and PS4 where storage gets full, and the game begins to bug out. It sucks but they did it for a very good reason.
As someone who started playing Java back in beta, I'm really jealous about the tutorial worlds, the built-in minigames and inviting your friends to your world just like that. Also 4J did such a good job in remaking Java for consoles, they even more or less accidentally carried over glitches from Java
I’ve had a ps4 for almost 8 years and i downloaded minecraft in 2016. I started playing minigames daily and i created tnt superflats and when the tnts exploded, they created so cool caves! I also fell in lava while digging straight down, but I used the button “exit without saving”. But when 2019 came to an end i was sad because they deleted all my memory nowadays when my mom calls me for dinner i pause the game and when i come back, im dead! I saw all the micro transactions and all those trash skin packs which would probably have been free in legacy edition! Then i noticed a button called “editions” i pressed it and it gave me a warning. I said i wanna download it and when i pressed accept, it took me into the old legacy edition! Now it glitches the button and i cant use it 😢😢😢
I have almost the same story except that me and my brother started playing on the ps4 in 2017, and the memory of our worlds was never deleted. We actually still re-visit them from time to time. And maybe play a few minigames. But we stick mainly to Java now, since it's almost the same thing. We're also anti-bedrock, and Bedrock just doesn't feel like Minecraft. The new music, new textures, you have to pay for the old mash-up worlds and skin packs, emotes, marketplace. It just feels like a different game. Thankfully we never got locked out of Legacy Console though. I hope you get the option back
so happy u mentioned the OG console multiplayer servers with hide n seek and hunger games. my favorite hunger games map was the one that made you feel like a toy in andy’s room
i have so many core memories from playing minecraft on the 360... finding out about the nether in a secret room of the tutorial world, that one really cool, beautiful shallow lake in my most played world that i built a house at (i think i actually still know the seed for that world...), finally getting an HD tv and an HDMI cable and saying goodbye to my old CRT, first time connecting to the internet and updating my game to have jungles and emeralds(!!!), the sandstone tutorial world, building stuff i saw on youtube while playing split screen with a friend. like a chest looking storage house.... good ole times...
You can easily change skins on Java. If you switch skin in the launcher and disconnect-reconnect, your skin updates and you're good to go. Might not be as easy to set up, but once your skins are in the launcher, it's just as easy if not easier
To me Minecraft started to decline around the time the 1.9 combat update launched on the PC. Following that there were a lot of new stuff added which some people might say is a good thing but to me, I liked how simple Minecraft was. Nowadays they have random mobs and animals. Sometimes more isn’t better. But then again I was also probably just growing out of that phase and maturing as a person. But they were good times back then
Man, I remember the day Legacy got updated to Title Update 5, aka Java 1.8.1 Beta. Got home from 6th grade, booted up my 360, and was surprised at a collosal 300mb update! I was so excited, but kinda sad that I couldn't play for 2 days while it installed. I ultimately decided to start a brand new world, and was surprised at the hunger bar, creative, and all the new and scary biomes, structures, and enemies I have fond memories of every Title Update video from Toycat and Stampy, and fonder memories when I got home to play them myself. My best memories were Title Update 9, the Ender Dragon update, Title Update 14, the Trading Update, Title Update 5, the Creative and hunger update, and TU19 with all the new blocks. Some of the most fun I had on xbox was getting my friends over for a sleepover playing Release Version TU1, which was an enjoyably buggy mess. All the sleepovers we had with every title update was so hilariously fun... I miss those days...
Im going to start using the quote "all good things must get blasted" in my day to day life now. Btw i see that you still heart and read comments on this video to this day and i really respect that
the world border was amazing in my opinion, my friends and I would play factions on the xbox 360 version and having very limited resources, and land to build made it more challenging. we recently tried to do it but the bedrock version just doesn't feel the same nor does it have an option to add a border . I miss legacy
I never liked console edition but that’s probably because the only console I really had back then was the Wii. I was a pocket edition kid so whenever I’d play console at a friend’s house it just felt weird. It does seem like there were a lot of good things about it and it’d be cool to see some of them added into bedrock. Maybe make UI skins a thing and add one to emulate the old console edition including the old crafting mechanic. Reimplement tutorial worlds bc currently the game itself doesn’t really teach new players a lot of very important things and those seem like a great way to learn.
I am the person who played almost all the minecraft learning maps on ps3. I remember the day my mom bought me a CD with the game, how happy I was then...
Yep, I remember this one. I was the lucky 1% that managed to get a PS3 AND an XBOX 360, and even though I had an absurd ammount of 360 games, I always liked to spend more time with my PS3, and one of the games I played was good ol' Minecraft Legacy edition. I still love those mash-up pack worlds, wonder if anyone's ported them to pc yet, the LBP and halloween ones were always my favorites -it felt like there was always something new to find, and to this day I still return to that version just to find new stuff. Did you know that there's an entire 2 story mansion with an expansive graveyard and plenty of special decorations around the first stop in the halloween map? Well neither did I until a few months ago, and then you have the tutorial worlds, god! I remember the 1.7 tutorial world, wonder if those are archived in any way? I'd loved to play it again, good vid, brought back some damn good memories, cheers!
Me and my brother also loved playing Legacy Console when it was the default edition for console. We mainly played our worlds, but sometimes mash-up worlds, as you said, and we always played the christmas, halloween, and egyptian mythology ones. Rarely the others. My skin was Tennis Steve, and his was normally Tuxedo Steve. I remember that our main world was the 2016 tutorial world with added buildings and random builds. Then, Bedrock edition released. We moved to Java, and now we have difficulty playing on the same world. We sometimes play servers together, and it's fun, and although Java is practically console edition, I wish console edition was still popular.
10:06 oh shit that's me! Loved this video and you pretty much summed up my thoughts perfectly, glad I'm on PC now for Java because if I was still stuck on console I'd be MISERABLE lmfao
I still have a lot of nostalgia for the Xbox 360 version and even the Switch version when I had initially moved over to that version for around a year, but nowadays I honestly just stick for Bedrock. I think its a fine version and plus you also get all the new updates alongside a couple bonuses. After 7 years, I think the version has definitely gotten better since launch. I also really just do not imagine legacy console edition ever coming back. For starters, some editions were bound to be discontinued due to aging hardware like the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. Lastly, legacy edition just chewed up development resources like candy, as every version needed to be developed seperately. Thats means that when most platforms switched over to Bedrock, they were developing for the: Xbox 360 PS3 Wii U Xbox One PS4 Switch And 3DS All at the same time. As unfortunate as it seems, I really do think legacy console edition was bound to be replaced with something like Bedrock, and it undoubtedly probably helped with Minecraft's popularity. Nowadays, I don't really have any urge to go back to legacy console edition but its still a version I hold close to me, especially given how the 360 version was my introduction to the game. Also those UI sounds are nice.
My dad purchased Ps4 edition and I can still play it till this day, all the minigames, tutorial worlds and those collab worlds like adventure time and fallout.
I am upset to this day that they discontinued Minecraft Console Edition. If Mojang finally implemented most features of console edition it would be fine I guess, but the only thing they have done is ignore it's existance
mojang a billion dollar company only releasing one shitty update every year is criminal, let alone not even adding anything useful , one good update being the caves updates n yet it wasn’t even allat
I had some good times with friends playing this version. We’ve all moved on in different directions but to me, our gaming days are the best memories I have during my childhood
I wish I had the tutorial world when I played Minecraft for the first time. It took almost a month for me to figure out how to break and place blocks and that was achieved via my first creative world. This is where I thrived and why I still love creative to this day.
The world of console edition smps was honestly really interesting imo, people would literally dedicate their console to being a host for "servers" so that they were accessible at all times. there needs to be a shader pack or something recreates the console edition graphics. idk what it is something about the lighting but its nostalgic asf and i wish i could still play it that way now
Something not mentioned as much as it should've been was that there were roughly 10+ free texture packs with free maps which came with it. 10+ skin packs with 5 or more free textures in each.
there were so many cool skins too
The free maps doesnt exist on ps4. You still had to buy them, though you can still try them out for free, just cant save them.
I remember that. I loved that feature. Me and my bro used it sometimes on our legacy edition worlds to see how different they would look like.
This video brought back so many good memories, and man I’d just love to relive them 100 times over.

yea bedrock just feels weird
And I wish the terrain generation was better I miss having flat plain biomes in normal worlds Im tired of seeing there weird mountain and giant cave holes in these new terrains 🥲

People don’t wanna admit it but Minecraft fell of because they update it once a year 😭 and this vid brought back so many memories 🥲
lmao yea they need to update more for sure
I think the update schedule is just fine
@@xenoxiaThey split it into 2 parts, but in reality 1.19 and 1.20 were part 3 and 4 bc they were still adding things they announced for 1.17
As a Minecraft Console Edition player, I agree that this version was goated and still is. And yes, there is a small community there and it's probably not leaving anytime soon. I'm apart of it. Also, the community there calls the edition "Legacy Edition".
I'm also part of the community that still plays Legacy Console. Although I moved to Java after they changed the main console edition to bedrock, I still visit the mash-up worlds, my old worlds, and play a few minigames with my bro once in a while
@@TheMaltianRobloxian Nice!
As an ex-console edition (ps4) player, I can say that it wasn't "months" but at least like 3 YEARS to get the shield. Yes. Shields were added with 1.14. Elytras were added a bit earlier sure but that took at least a year after the java release too
And yes on ps4 our last update was 1.14, the universal bedrock edition came with 1.15
Edir: oh yeah it just came to my mind, 1.10 came earlier than 1.9 to minecraft.
Yea its been so long since I played but yea that always pissed me off 😭 I still had and played java edition I just preferred console
I only had PS3 for the longest time, and I eventually switched to pocket edition for the Aquatic Update(I believe PS3 didn't get it). Now I rarely get to hang out with them, and my older brother is going off to college in a few months. How time flies 😢. Very amazing video, here are a few additions:
1. You can't forget about the Wii U edition of Minecraft released in December 2015. Alltough it was late, it's were me and many others started to play the console edition of the game.
2. Voicechat. I feel like that was simply the most amazing feature in the Console Edition and was perfect for an 8 player game. Back then nobody really used discord or skype as most people only had their console, so being able to talk to your friends ingame was just different.
thanks! and yea a lot of people mentioned they played on wii U
Again great vid man, 10/10 ❤
WWW thanks brobro 🙏
Legacy console still exists
The Legacy Console did get the Aquatic Update
The pink screen glitch actually got fixed this year or last year in one of the minecraft snapshots. I forgot which one it was, but I remember it did happen.

Athletic Steve mentioned I’m subscribing and liking this video very epic also that tiny little ewok sackboy very happy to know I wasn’t the only who still talks about these skins

As I was wandering I remember the shock and excitement I had just randomly stumbling on the Stampy house and from then onwards I would replay the demo and go there just to pretend I discovered it again.
Minecraft console edition also had alot of Texture pack content. Adventure time, Pirates' of the carabinan, Nightmare before Christmas, Halo & Fallout as well as a Christmas & Halloween maps.
so many memories from them 😭

Oh hey what’s up
The other day on my WiiU console world I rode a boat through an end gateway from the end city to the dragon fight and on the map it showed my arrow at the entrance gateway and the dragon healthbar was gone and I couldn’t exit the boat and breaking end stone worked normal but placing anything even entities deleted the block I placed it on instantly and I was in creative so I rode the boat ,while somehow being able to crouch/sprint, into the void where it deposited me at -63 and I was flying and the boat was hovering there, not falling.
You can spawn in creative an enderman on a block and above it air then block then air then block then air and it doesn’t put it on the bottom one but the 2nd bottom one
Sometimes banners don’t stack and nametags with the same name don’t. You can push the end crystals from the dragon fight using pistons
I haven’t tested to know if it’s possible to get it to the overworld.

@@moddedinkling4168 crouching blocking is better, also it's different because how are you going to left-click on a phone? exactly, that's impossible.

Ohhh okay thanks! Yea that makes sense lol
MCL the goat
As someone who started playing Java back in beta, I'm really jealous about the tutorial worlds, the built-in minigames and inviting your friends to your world just like that.
Also 4J did such a good job in remaking Java for consoles, they even more or less accidentally carried over glitches from Java
Bro just described a third of my childhood in 10 minutes. Plus beyblades and pokemon.

Exit Without saving is the best and the worst thing on console edition.
😂
I hope you get the option back
I still play Minecraft Split screen to this day. On Xbox Series X too.
i bought a copy from ebay so i could play on series x 😂

so happy u mentioned the OG console multiplayer servers with hide n seek and hunger games. my favorite hunger games map was the one that made you feel like a toy in andy’s room
i have so many core memories from playing minecraft on the 360...
finding out about the nether in a secret room of the tutorial world, that one really cool, beautiful shallow lake in my most played world that i built a house at (i think i actually still know the seed for that world...), finally getting an HD tv and an HDMI cable and saying goodbye to my old CRT, first time connecting to the internet and updating my game to have jungles and emeralds(!!!), the sandstone tutorial world, building stuff i saw on youtube while playing split screen with a friend. like a chest looking storage house.... good ole times...
You can easily change skins on Java. If you switch skin in the launcher and disconnect-reconnect, your skin updates and you're good to go. Might not be as easy to set up, but once your skins are in the launcher, it's just as easy if not easier
Oh okay, it used to not be as easy as that tho a while back
To me Minecraft started to decline around the time the 1.9 combat update launched on the PC.
I ultimately decided to start a brand new world, and was surprised at the hunger bar, creative, and all the new and scary biomes, structures, and enemies
I have fond memories of every Title Update video from Toycat and Stampy, and fonder memories when I got home to play them myself.
Great video! I hope that even if legacy console edition never returns, they at least port the mini games over to Bedrock.

the smaller worlds on 360 really helped with the "community" feeling I got from playing with my friends, no one could truly be away from someone else
They just updated the game I think. The textures on the creative menu haves shadows for some reason.
the world border was amazing in my opinion, my friends and I would play factions on the xbox 360 version and having very limited resources, and land to build made it more challenging. we recently tried to do it but the bedrock version just doesn't feel the same nor does it have an option to add a border . I miss legacy
Yeah i loved the border really
Yo thats cool to hear, you kind of unlocked a memory I forgot I used to do that too 😭
I never liked console edition but that’s probably because the only console I really had back then was the Wii.
Reimplement tutorial worlds bc currently the game itself doesn’t really teach new players a lot of very important things and those seem like a great way to learn.
pocket edition was fire too when I found out friends could join my world that changed everything 😂
I actually miss the old times.
frr
I had the PS4 edition, then one day I went to load it up, but it was gone.😢
~I also had a PlayStation , felt the pain of waiting for that 2013 version to drop , my grandma brought it for me same day . love you nana 🖤
I am the person who played almost all the minecraft learning maps on ps3. I remember the day my mom bought me a CD with the game, how happy I was then...
nahh me too
5:33 further proof herobrine is real
💀
Loved this video and you pretty much summed up my thoughts perfectly, glad I'm on PC now for Java because if I was still stuck on console I'd be MISERABLE lmfao
yoo thank you thats funny 😂
Thats means that when most platforms switched over to Bedrock, they were developing for the:
Xbox 360
PS3
Wii U
Xbox One
PS4
Switch
And 3DS
All at the same time.
🥲
I wish I had the tutorial world when I played Minecraft for the first time. It took almost a month for me to figure out how to break and place blocks and that was achieved via my first creative world. This is where I thrived and why I still love creative to this day.
The world of console edition smps was honestly really interesting imo, people would literally dedicate their console to being a host for "servers" so that they were accessible at all times. Super nostalgic video. Have been on and off with java since alpha but i do have fond memories of my stint on ps4 edition
I need "athletic" steve back. That was my DAWG bro.
As someone who hosts a server on legacy ps4 edition, it's always nice to see people talk about it.
yo thats awesome man
