Just like you..Solid memories of catching trout ...carp......striper...one day I was out fishing super late at night on the island across from the Golden Nugget near the Az side ...I caught over 60 trout that night..in 4 hours of fishing10pm-2am..Epic night fishing ...never forget it..🎣🎣🎣👊
THIS IS MY NECK OF THE WOODS!!!!! I live 60 miles east of Reno!! Fishing out here is another animal completely! But we get it done. Good luck this year chris!
Great vids Chris!!! As a West coast native and having fishing around you in the National Guard Western Series back in the day, great to see making amazing content👍👍 I think in those lakes they feed a lot on little molted Sculpin and hellgrammites so yeah the tube was the deal✌️Keep it up.
@@spencerochse8739particularly mottled sculpin which this person referred to, and also lots of bait stealing mud sculpin. If you fish for bass you might not know because of the size of your presentation. If you fish for trout or crappie on 8-12 size hooks they become a real nuisance.
Great memories from that mountain range when I was growing up. Learned how to hunt and fish a couple hours west of there. Absolutely Gorgeous lake and amazing footage !
Ive fished for Kokes there, also dudes have caught banger 20 pound brown trout in that lake. Wicked cold wind comes up there... nice video im going to check out Bb batteries now as well.
You're in my old neck of the woods. I miss that old place, unfortunately it's gotten too expensive to live in that town. Norcal has awesome fishing, just not a lot of people know. Between the foothill lakes, the rivers, and the sierra lakes we have grear fishing year round.
That lake is known for Kokanee more so than the Trout. There are some very nice Rainbows, Browns and Makinaw in there though. The Smallmouth are the only Species in that lake that I’ve not caught yet, I’ll have to make a point to target them this next coming year.
might have missed it but what lake is this. I live in cali and absolutely love to catch smallmouth but I haven't been able to find a place with giants in it. lake name drop would b awesome.
Now I know why BB batteries are somewhat expensive. Cylindrical cells. I have made some of my own batteries with cylindrical cells. They are almost exclusively used in medical equipment and mission critical computer uninterruptable power supplies. I like the inspection, testing and employee validation of things all along the way.
@@ZaldaingerousI got a hound/ husky mix last year. Love the dog, but she puts a hurting on my fishing time. I’m working on training her to go, but for now she thinks the lures a game of fetch.
All hidden lakes I've been to, you have to take a dirt road that doesn't lead you straight to it and you'll have to hike at least 1 hour to get to it. For sure you can't take a bass boat or any boat to it.
I’m curious why you as well as other professional anglers are no longer sponsored by MegaBass? I have my own theory that it had something to do with covid. But I have no idea.
Personally, they didn’t allow me to design but would sign my name to things like I did have input. There’s more than that, but that was one of the bigger issues I had.
@whydoyouwantmynamegoogle396 dude the cabelas is on the CA border basically. So the minute he headed west on 80 he's back in CA. I just went through the same area sunday
Ya gotta luv it baby. Just like me neck of the woods in N.Utah. We’re throwin swim baits for 32” Strawberry Cutthroat’s in 20 degrees. Mother Nature rules me soul

One of my favorite lakes when I lived in Northern California!
which lake, i ask because inlaws live in reno, id like to visit and fish smallies.
@@woefman9467 Stampede Reservoir
It’s just awesome to see a bass boat being towed up through the hight country. Glad you got those fish to go. Very cool video.
My backyard!!!! Stampede by the dam.... welcome home... medium size crank bait crawdad colors or trout colored spinners work well....
Always a win when you feel like you went on a road trip from your room before you go to work. Thanks.
Stoked for this episode. California offers so much in terms of public land.
The lake was in California.
@Zaldaingerous I got confused...one minute I was watching you was in Area 51 then you was on the water thought you was still in Nevada lol
@@davidnewcomb2431 the title literally says California
I used to bank fish that lake in the summers. It’s an absolute beautiful & peaceful lake. I miss living in Reno.
Enjoyed the video, Chris! Thank You!

Had to winterize the boat today and watching you crush some smallies is killlling me 😂💪
Wow on your quality of production. Loved watching you fish a little piece of Heaven on earth.
Great trip
Good to see you round up those Smallies and Rainbow

Spalding or boca by any chance? Also not sure how deep you are but you should fly fish for them nothing like hooking a smallmouth on the flyrod
I wish I new you were in Reno! I would have been looking all over for you lol
Scotts Flat Reservoir just Southwest of there in Nevada City has some pretty good Smallmouth fishing as well.
I live in Grass Valley and caught some good smallies from Scotts.

I see you fishing the widowmaker rods can we get a in-depth review I love the omen line and am very excited for the next step up
Yes, once they launch. I’m working on a big master list run down of all the rods I prefer / like from each of the lines
Ahh I know this place well. I’ve caught some big lake trout there .
Looks like Boca Reservoir...
Great job and video 🐟🐟
Nice video, what baitcaster reel is that?
Stampede?
Those red heads keep you warm I have a few of those
Did you ever try the ladder for trout ?
Froze my off, kinda like duck hunting
I wanted to. Didn’t make it to Pyramid though
Did you catch Paul Bourq (sp) with Todd? Found it relevant and learned a bit about that side of things
Paul’s one of our good friends and also my sponsor lol we have lots of in-depth talks

Anyone know the name of that lake by chance?
Cold as balls

Oh you should of tried pyramid lake. Huge LCT.
That was the plan but I had a few things pop up the day Pyramid was scheduled
Are there bass in Pyramid Lake NV?

That bait was one of the reasons I got frustrated with MB. Just throw a jig… no need for the gimmick.
Let me guess Donnor pass I gave up it up but great fishing
was hoping to see some giant trout eaters
Me too
