So excited for you to try Christina Lauren for the first time! I've been a fan of theirs since their fanfic writing days in the mid-aughts lol and they have a pretty large backlist, so if you don't like their latest release you might like some of in their backlist :) Their earlier books are much higher in the spice scale than their latest releases (last 4 or so years), so they also have a good variety of spiciness depending on what you're looking for. Some of my faves - Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating, Beautiful Player, and The Unhoneymooners. ✨ 🍯
throne of the fallen is a sequal to kingdom of the wicked would recommend reading before but you can also read that one without reading the first three before it
A great series by Anne Mccaffrey is Crystal singer. My mum has read her copies so many times she has had to replace them three times now because they’ve fallen apart. I just bought her replacements on Pango myself.
I went to a cute coastal town this weekend and found the cutest independent library. Ended up with a book haul ! ❤ always a good reason for book shoppers.

I’m a big Kerri maniscalco fan, and I haven’t seen any other comments yet about her books, but I came down here to let you know that the Jack the Ripper series is YA, the kingdom of the wicked trilogy is considered New Adult (and also gets better after the first one), and throne of the fallen is fully into adult. I haven’t read throne yet so I can’t guarantee for you, but envy is a character in the kingdom of the wicked series, so just know going in that there might be some sort of spoilers for that series if you did decide to keep going with it later.
You will love Beartown - I swear i left my heart inside that book (warning, it feels kinda slow to begin with but without knowing it you become hooked). I am currently reading Name of the Wind as i fear that i cannot know any thing about fantasy until ive read this book - would love to know your thoughts on it (it feels right up your street). Also, Syd, how the hell do you only have 28k subscribers - honestly you are my favourite booktuber, you should have way more subscribers IMO.

I bought Throne of the Fallen not knowing about the original series. I borrowed the Kingdom of the Wicked from my library and it started out so promising, but I felt bored as the book went on. I couldn't make myself read the rest of them, so I read a synopsis of the trilogy. I'm still willing to read the Throne of the Fallen though! My friend said that she loved that one but only felt meh about the original trilogy. I really wanted to like the books, but they weren't for me.

Kingdom of the Wicked is definitely NOT ya. The author has gone of record saying it should be shelved in adult because the series gets SPICY in the later books.
The funniest thing in your bookhauls for me is that we have total opposites tastes in book covers. Usually when you declare that you love a book cover, I find it the most hideous thing. Like that UK cover of Bellies ? I find it absolutely repulsive. Is that an actual ass on the cover ? And your last haul when you flipped the most gorgeous Fairyloot redesign cover of a Feather so Black because you prefered the standard cover that I find so generic and bland ? This is honestly hilarious to me
