  • The Post Content Module is a special module available when creating a Body Area Layout for a template in the Divi Theme Builder. Understanding what the Post Content Module is and how to use it will be extremely helpful when designing custom Templates with the Divi Theme Builder.
    In this tutorial, we are going to go over how the Post Content Module works and how best to use it when designing templates in Divi.

    Thanks Mak, I just used this for a site. I didn't know that you could use the Gutenberg blocks like that. I used Divi to create the posts. The Divi Builder controlled the output of stylings for me. I'm confused on the Comment part/Module for a blog post. Styling that was a bear. I hope you'll work your magic on that part of the Builder/Divi on how to style up a blog comment form. I was getting lost in where to set some overall settings for Discussion, requiring or not requiring name or email vs. Divi's settings.

    Hello Mak, after creating my post template, and proceeding to add a new post, the editor I have is not the guternberg editor, I think it is the Wordpress one, how do I change this, please?

    The post content module leaves NO margin above headlines. So everything looks very crammed. How can I fix this (e.g. add mardings to headings in the post content)?

    I made a dynamic template for my blogs, I have static pages for my other pages. I only want my post to get published in this template what I made with divi builder. Now how to apply it I dont know. I created a page named blog and I applied the template on this page but posts on this page showing as normal not what I made on the template. If I click on view from my wordpress dashboard the post is showing as i made in the template. Please help how to use the template to show on my Blogpage. Do I need to show the category on my menu instead of a blogpage?

    I'm a bit confused. If I create a template to redesign existing posts then save the template will it delete my original post content or should I save my modules in the original post design to the library first then re load them to the theme builder template? I'm worried about losing my content if I create a new template for all posts.

    If you already have a lot of posts will making this Post Content module change the titles and contents of the posts? I have some new posts that already have content but when i make a new post it shows up with another posts content. One that was created earlier. Seems to me that the Theme builder must have a post content already built that contains a full text module.

    It would be cool to find a video that shows you how to use the actual templates in the divi them builder. Not one from scratch but one from the templates. NOBODY has a video like this. Everyone has one about how to make one from scratch. ok well make one from the actual templates in the divi Theme builder.

    I want to focus on one specific page to have clickable categories within that page. How would I achieve that goal? Sample would be: HEATH, IT, LEARNING, DATA ANALYSIS as my categories and if I click on one specific category all of those related topics would appear on that page without going to another page? The end goal would just be showing the title of the project, some body copy and some clickable links. Is this possible?

    this is helpful, thank you! For some reason, after some time all posts' featured image is being replaced with the latest, and I suspect it does something to do with what your showed in this video. How do I stop this from happening again and again. UPDATE: I was able to fix it - the featured image was replaced, but I still do not know why does this keep happening?! like once every 3 months, maybe due to wordpress plugin updates? no one else has access to admin panel except me

    Hey I found your video while having an issue with the Divi Theme Builder: I noticed that if I am using Divi Builder to edit my post, I can see the template I created, but any modification that I am doing to the post is also changing the template and vice-versa. Does it means that if we are using Divi Theme Builder, we have to abandon the idea to use the Visual editor to creat posts ? Thanks

    I would like to make a suggestion. When you are clicking on something, it is hard to "see" what you are clicking on. My nose is nearly touching the screen to try and see what you are clicking on. It would be great if you were to zoom in on those specific areas you are working on so we do not have to put our face close to the screen in order to try to see what you are doing. One other thing is to slow down. Sometimes you are moving so fast that I had to back up a few times to see if I could tell what you were doing.
    At the time you produced this instructional video, the version of WordPress as well as Divi is different than what I am using as of May 27, 2022. I was able to work through the differences but it would help to have an updated video using the latest versions of WordPress and Divi so we do not have to scratch our heads so much.
    Thank you for this instructive video. It is helpful. I am new to WordPress as well as Divi. So, I have a huge learning curve to overcome. I am trying to build an international newsletter where I will have some articles that I will develop and others I will use the blurb module with images and a Read More button. I also will use embedded videos here and there. Then, last of all, I will have hyperlinked text. Though, I am re-thinking this part.
    Thank you again for this instructional video and have a great day,
    Eddie Rogers, Minister, D.D.

    Stupid question, but I'm beyond frustrated with my lack of web design skills. It seems like you just drag and drop modules around freely, right on the screen. I can't figure out how you're doing that.
    I've been manually playing with -margins, padding, and "transform" but most of the time it just screws up something else or hides the element I'm moving. I can't find anywhere that I can bring an element to the front or back when I overlap them. I'm going on month 2 of setting up as simple blog and not even close

    Same question, why are you using the Gutenberg editor when you have all the features of Divi available?

    • @hulagun
      @hulagun 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For importing existing post content from a client's previous website, to stylize like the rest of the site you just updated for them, this would be an amazing module to have. It's a hybrid of Divi and the Wordpress default post editor (currently Gutenberg), which may change again at some point.

    Every time I watch one of your videos, I have the same reaction: Less would be MORE. When you created a new custom post module, if you had skipped all of the customization and focused only on the mechanics of creating the new custom post module, the video would have been massively shorter AND MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE for me. All the customization winds up hiding what I really want to learn and leaving me frustrated and still confused about how to fix the problem I am working on.

      That would almost be the same as having 1 single word' (yours, in this case) dictionary so you don't have to go through sooo many pages.
      I believe Mak gives away so much value (for free) and he does it for all different levels.

  • @trafferz
    @trafferz 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Divi needs to stop using the word 'template'. All your edits are altering the underlying template. Defeats the purpose. Why is there not a way to use a proper 'template' to grab the body text of a Post or Page and display it using the layout/design based on the template? That's a template. You might as well just duplicate each page or post and add new content for each. Pretty ridiculous how this is set up to operate.
