In North Carolina, the classic tomato sandwich is a favorite with home-grown tomatoes, mayo salt/pepper on lightly toasted white bread. Another favorite is pimento cheese (for a sandwich or a dip). You can buy a small tub at most any NC grocery stores. It is finely chopped American cheese, mayo, and small pieces of pimento in the midst of a lot of cheese. Bacon can be added for either pimento cheese or tomato sandwiches. Tomato sandwiches are usually a summer snack.
The ones they made us in school were peanut butter mixed with honey and to me those are the best. You mix them together then spread in on wonder bread. Peanut butter and banana sandwiches are really good too.😃
I'm an old lady and I still like Peanut Butter, My favorite brand is an old Michigan Favorite called Velveeta with a preference to chunky texture. Used to prefer Jam over Jelly, hated marmalade (my dad's favorite). I usually put banana on my sandwich, not deep fried like Elvis. Goober Grape? Yeah my dad brought that home once when it first came out, didn't really care for it. Who did the dancing PB&J sandwich meme? That was cute!😊
I use to eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Don't feel bad. I never had a whopper from Burger King until I was in college. People asked if I was a foreign exchange student. 😂
Every lunch my mom made for me during my junior high and early high school years there was ALWAYS a PBJ with some type of chips, usually potato chips or Fritos. PBJ is a staple, in fact this video made me hungry for one. Now I am going to have to make a PBJ or two to eat right after I finish watching this video.
We do strawberry preserves in my house, and I ways spread peanut butter on both slices of bread first, then add the preserves. So it'll be bread, p.b., preserves, p.b.,bread. The peanut butter acts as a barrier, so the preserves dont make the bread all soggy and gross.
Jif! You chose wisely. Jelly is just congealed sugar really, jam is better, but preserves in theory have more fruit in it. Also the store brand is every bit as good as Smucker's which is pretty much the JIF of jam/preserves. And Fluff is a gift from the GAWDS.
Great choices. Concord grape jelly is the best to start with. Then use that as your baseline for other varieties. Jelly = no seeds Jam = has seeds Marmalade = includes peelings (like peach skins)
I have always loved peanut butter and jelly. Heavy on the PB with a skim coat of jelly or jam. My first choices are crunchy with grape or raspberry. I am a huge fan of BLTs. I use bagged salad and pre-cooked bacon for convenience. Warm the bacon in the microwave to enhance the bacon flavor. I never brown-bagged my lunch. That seemed like a hassle to me.
Watching this while I eat a Wegmans Assorted Sub. And yes they're good. 7:38 I call them hot dog rolls too 😂 12:23 My late Mom made "butterscotch" sandwiches which was butter and peanut butter. So Jacob is right it's a thing.
I love PJ sandwiches but with less jelly and more peanut butter. I’m glad you tried it Jenn. Your videos are so much fun! I love you and Jacob together to! Thank you for the laugh Jenn
Actually, your supposed to put peanut butter on BOTH sides of the slices of bread. Then the jelly goes between the peanut butter. That way your bread doesn't get soggy. I learned this from my daughter when she came home from school one day and proceeded to educate me on the correct way to make a pb&j
This is just an FYI Jen; jellies is more sugar and a touch of, fruit flavoring. Basically you have more sugar in the jelly, preserves and jams are more of the fruit with the sugar of how it’s made so you get more fruit in preserves and jams, then you do jelly. Just an FYI 😊
Love that you finally tried a PB&J, i agree with Jacob they are kinda dessertish but if you really want to try a dessert kinda sandwich definitely try a peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. very sweet but suprisingly good.
Hi guys...love this video....I'm 75 years old and still eat peanut butter and jam...my favorite is Blackberry jam....on toast....here's one for you...I love pork and beans mashed up a little with miracle whip sandwiches..yummy.. Love you two together!!!❤
Woah you blew my mind I'm Glad you gave it a try! I live in NC too! You should try Pimento Cheese, if you haven't of course Love your channel as always
I didn't like orange marmalade as a kid, so I hadn't had it in decades, but your video inspired me to try a PB & OM sandwich. It is an interesting variation and is growing on me! Thanks for the inspiration and for your absolutely charming videos.
Try the pb&j on toast! I used to eat goobers with a spoon. Loved that stuff, but I really don't know what made it special. A sandwich I would make when I was young, white bread, with mericle whip, a healthy layer of lays potato chips, and then hienz ketchup on top, and the top piece of bread. Smoosh it together and enjoy! It's actually pretty good
Really liked this video. I love the vibe you two have. I grew up on p&j but I’m with Jacob when it comes to sitting in a baggie for hours. Yuk! Try the orange marmalade spread thinly on toast Jenny. I think it’s delicious. And Jacob get Jenny down south so she can try all the comfort foods from that region. Safe travels to the both of you.
Jelly is just fruit juice, jam is made with mashed fruit, preserves is made with whole fruit or large fruit chunks. Marmalade has fruit peel in it. (we have a jam making business, we have a yummy orange ginger marmalade) traditional pb&j is made with grape jelly, but we make ours on wheat bread and hubby's favorite jam is the orange ginger marmalade, my favorite is our strawberry champagne jam, and i prefer crunchy peanut butter.
Hey Jenny, I love watching your videos and just watched this one...I make home made jams and jellies. So the difference between jelly, jam, and marmalade is... Jelly just uses the fruit juice while jam uses the fruit juice and pureed fruit as well. Marmalade uses the fruit juice, fruit chunks and the fruit peel. Hope that helps. Keep up the fun videos. I look forward to the next one.
I came from Jacob channel ,and to be honest the 2 of you guys are such the best couple ever ,I love Jacob channel the best thou Jen .He just travels and into history but still love you guys together. Thanks for sharing and keep up your great work.
Reese's peanut butter is the best (if they still make it or can find it) grape jelly always (hate seeds and fruit lol) but you also need to put alittle butter on the bread before the peanut butter, it wont stick to your mouth! Love you guys!!!
You two are so cute! I just finished my evening meal, but after watching your video, I had to have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, lol! The perfect dessert.😃
I love a good dark crusty bread like a pumpernickel or rye. I like my penutbutter both ways but crunchy is what id say. Grape jelly. I love heals of the bread. Make it on a bagel! A toasted bagel! If thats too much you can fo the other extreme snd do it on as a taco. Soft tortilla spread with butter, pb and j and just roll it up .
As a kid I lived on pb&j life would have never been the same, I was a picky eater and my mother could always get me to eat a pb&j sandwich. I still love them, sorry a ketchup sandwich grosses me out, my husband eats ketchup on crackers and I can’t even watch him eat it🤮 Can’t wait to see your expression when you try on, you did a great job on your picks, good luck🤗🥰🐾proud of you for being so brave, you are just adorable, kisses to Cammy🐾🤗🥰🐈🥪
You have to separate the bread from the jelly, by putting some peanut butter on both pieces of bread, and then You put the jam, jelly or marmalade in the middle 🙌 then the bread doesn't get soggy 🌟😋 😻 I definitely suggest that You try a fluffernutter ❣️😅Thanks for sharing Your first PB&J with us Jen 🙏💝😻
Wegman's is the best... To bad I moved from NY to Nevada because they don't have them out here, but when I go visit family in NY I always make its point to go.
I had a PB in unison, PB&J is rare here as our Peanut butter is generally not that sweet and you'd need to use something like a Conserve as Jelly here mean Jello in the states, doesn't mean though I haven't tried it, one of the importers got Goobers striped in and it wasn't bad. Best oddball stuff though has come from a Breville Sandwich maker cookbook, essentially that has you making stuff like smores in a sandwich toaster on normal white bread.
Okay, a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich always has peanut butter on both slices of bread with jelly, jam, or fluff in the middle. That reduces the chance of soggy bread. 😋
My pbj recipe which I ate all 4th grade to the point of never having the desire to one again was I think nature’s own whitewheat bread, strawberry smuckers jam, and crunchy jif pb.
Hi Jenny Penny 👋😊 good to see this video, im not a fan of peanut butter but i do like peanuts 🥜 the grocery items look good. You eat healthy and stay fit. Hope you got what you wanted at the supermarket. Take care and stay safe ❤️🙏 you need to try Apple butter its good 😋
It's okay that you never had a PB&J before, Jenn. Millions of people have never had a PB&J. In parts of the world they've never heard of it. I just don't know anyone who hasn't had one. Of course I am not in the habit of asking people. In fact, I have never asked my best friend and it's quite possible that she's never had one. Have a wonderful time in Denver. I love you ❤️
Jenn, I too have never EVER had a PB&J sandwich either! 😳 I’m like you it just didn’t look or sound appealing. 😛 I like toast an grape jelly but not peanut butter on bread 😜 I don’t think I would ever try it and now seeing you try it…….Ya I’m not! 😆 lol I’m not a sugar/sweet person as I’m a salt person 😆 I love how Jacob is asking if ya had this and that! 😆 Ha ha Okay have ya ever had Goetta? 🤔 I love Glier’s Goetta with eggs over easy and buttered toast, you’ll have to get Jacob to stop in Cincinnati to try it as that’s where I tried it on vacation and now have to order it because it’s that good girl 😋 Y’all are fun together ♥️
I have a cousin who use to eat ketchup sandwiches and My mom would eat mayo sandwiches. I on the other hand would eat peanut butter and jelly with banana sandwiches I have no idea why or where I picked it up as a kid and still to this day do it lol... Now brings me to my husband who eats Peanut butter and Mayo sandwiches... I remember the days of packed lunches of PB&J sandwiches, and they would get soggy, and kids would trade with others at lunch time... Now seeing and talking about this I now want myself a PB&J banana sandwich lol.. Great video loved it! Keep up the great work!
I'm late to this party, but....if you take that orange marmalade and a bottle of bbq sauce, mix it together in a crock pot with some frozen meatballs and let it cook down....delicious appetizer! FYI I do strictly peanut butter sandwiches, no jelly. It's a texture thing.
You have to try Smucker natural peanut butter. You have to stir the oil into it so its bests to store upside down. Try zucchini bread. And you know the pb&j sandwich rule, always cut it diagonally. I shows your mom loves you! Lol
I love both Crunchy & Creamy Peanut butter with banana slices & bacon on toasted bread like Elvis Presley with a glass of ice cold milk or the Skippy Peanut butter I'll eat spoonfuls or ill put it on celery lol😊
As an adult I rarely eat pb&j, but I gotta say… Uncrustables are DELICIOUS! You and Jacob need to try them for a video!
The problem with uncrustables is we love the crust, it's the best part!
Peanut butter, honey and cinnamon.

I just love how deadpan jacob is in your videos , its as if his hat holds all the enthusiasm lol
You guys are so good togther and that makes us so happy.♥️🥰
The ones they made us in school were peanut butter mixed with honey and to me those are the best. You mix them together then spread in on wonder bread. Peanut butter and banana sandwiches are really good too.😃
Yes lunchroom ladies made the best pbj
I agree, I get the Jiff peanut butter that has honey already mixed into it. Its really good.
And with marshmallows in it
Elvis approves this message.

Who did the dancing PB&J sandwich meme? That was cute!😊
Peanutbutter and Jelly and a glass of cold milk heck yeah.
Jacob is definitely going to have you try a bunch of different food and I'm so excited for you lol I like Strawberry Jelly and Apple Butter. ❤
Once Jenny gets in the south Jacob needs to introduce her to shrimp and grits & boiled peanuts.
Yes !!! ✌😄
Love the banter between you too. So entertaining.
I use to eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Don't feel bad. I never had a whopper from Burger King until I was in college. People asked if I was a foreign exchange student. 😂
Jacobs face in the thumbnail says it all...
😂😂 I concur Jacob 😅
I was jamming to Lionel Richie while Jenny was searching for jam 😁
Every lunch my mom made for me during my junior high and early high school years there was ALWAYS a PBJ with some type of chips, usually potato chips or Fritos. PBJ is a staple, in fact this video made me hungry for one. Now I am going to have to make a PBJ or two to eat right after I finish watching this video.
I could go for a PB&J with some plain Utz chips!
Jacob's face in the thumbnail for this video is exactly how I reacted when I read the title of the video.
I love your energy! I smiled during the whole video.
Love the drawing at the end! Thanks for the great video, JP and CB!

I just call them hotdogs buns
You need to try it with raspberry preserves!
I love PJ sandwiches but with less jelly and more peanut butter. I’m glad you tried it Jenn. Your videos are so much fun! I love you and Jacob together to! Thank you for the laugh Jenn

Fun video Jen. Love your nail polish. What color and brand??
Can you and Jacob cook a recipe ?? 😄😎 that would be fun to watch y'all cook together !!!!

Never liked PB&J but adored peanut butter & butter sandwitches! But still nothing beats crumpets with butter and jam
Reese's peanut butter is the best (if they still make it or can find it) grape jelly always (hate seeds and fruit lol) but you also need to put alittle butter on the bread before the peanut butter, it wont stick to your mouth! Love you guys!!!
Peanut butter and pickle sandwiches are awesome! With grilled cheese too!
I eat Peanut Butter and pickle sandwiches all the time! So good
I always ate peanut butter toast for breakfast growing up and later I learned that President Truman ate peanut butter toast for breakfast too.
You two are so cute! I just finished my evening meal, but after watching your video, I had to have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, lol! The perfect dessert.😃
You are awesome, Jenny.

I've never tried marmalade before, definitely going to now 🤗
I loce to toast the bread then peanut butter is warm with the jelly ..delicious 🎉😊🎉😊❤
You're KILLIN me Smalls! It's funny that I'm talking to the TV telling you what life is.....and Jacob is there as the Tootsie Pop Owl.
I just bought the S’mOreos today to try.😋
You guys are making me want to go make a PB&J even though I just finished a full dinner.
True story eating a pbnj sandwich as I watch this. I love them!!!
As a kid I lived on pb&j life would have never been the same, I was a picky eater and my mother could always get me to eat a pb&j sandwich. I still love them, sorry a ketchup sandwich grosses me out, my husband eats ketchup on crackers and I can’t even watch him eat it🤮

Wegmans is by far one of the best grocery stores hands down. I love them
Wegman's is the best... To bad I moved from NY to Nevada because they don't have them out here, but when I go visit family in NY I always make its point to go.
- -- I eat Blackberry and Jam sand. when I crave something sweet yet a bit different from the typical candy etc.
Great choice on jiffy my favorite on crackers have a nice trip 😁
Try it with Smuckers seedless blackberry jam
I had a PB in unison, PB&J is rare here as our Peanut butter is generally not that sweet and you'd need to use something like a Conserve as Jelly here mean Jello in the states, doesn't mean though I haven't tried it, one of the importers got Goobers striped in and it wasn't bad.

My favorite is grape jam.
Orange mamalade and chunky peanut butter - yum!
We had baked bean sandwiches long ago!
Try ur orange marmalade on grilled chicken with rosemary. Check out a recipe. It is really good with a baked potato.
Bless your heart, Jen.. .had to be starving to eat ketchup bread sandwiches.. Glad doing better.
You need to buy it premixed together. Peanut butter and jelly in one jar. I love that.
Red raspberry preserves!
I always liked peanut butter and syrup mixed together in a smooth consistency but not too much syrup that it was runny.
That sounds like one of those things that seems disgusting on paper but is really good in real life.
@@maryblaufuss7533 or you can use honey 🍯 instead of syrup 😸
@@silverghostcat1924 Nummy! 😃
I've absolutely had peanut butter and orange marmalade. Yummy in the tummy.

I like peanut butter and jelly on sourdough bread or peanut butter and honey. Good stuff
You are absolutly the cutest!
Jelly has a gelatin in plus the juice of fruit, jam has some gelatin plus of fruit crushed in it, preservatives is all of the fruit no gelatin
Food to try Brussel sprouts or Hamburger helper 🙂

Classic.
😆😆😆

Preserves/fruit spread are the chunkiest of the spreads. Jelly has no chunks, and jam is in the middle.
I HIT SUBSCRIBE SO FAST WHEN I SAW YOU HAVE YOUR OWN CHANNEL!!!❤❤❤
Watching this is so fun 😂❤
Take her to Charleston, SC
I'm late to this party, but....if you take that orange marmalade and a bottle of bbq sauce, mix it together in a crock pot with some frozen meatballs and let it cook down....delicious appetizer!
FYI I do strictly peanut butter sandwiches, no jelly. It's a texture thing.
I love Peterpan peanut butter the best
Okay, I totally still have ketchup sandwiches. I loved this video Jenny it was fab!
Need to try some gumbo
You have to try Smucker natural peanut butter. You have to stir the oil into it so its bests to store upside down. Try zucchini bread. And you know the pb&j sandwich rule, always cut it diagonally. I shows your mom loves you! Lol
You two are so cute together.
I think Jenny should try fried scrapple with apple butter! You either love it or hate it! I personally love it!! Yummy!!
I eat natural creamy peanut butter with honey in it with orange marmalade on a rolled up white flour tortilla and I think it’s good
I love both Crunchy & Creamy Peanut butter with banana slices & bacon on toasted bread like Elvis Presley with a glass of ice cold milk or the Skippy Peanut butter I'll eat spoonfuls or ill put it on celery lol😊
My Mom would get celery and use that as a spoon for her peanut butter 😅
Stick raisins in the p'nut butter and you have "ants on a log." Fussy eater tiny tots love this concept.
Love my PBJ sandwiches! This video cracked me up!!!
I LOVE PB&J sandwiches! mmmmm 😋
my fav jam to put on mine is Grape! 🍞🥜🍇❤️
i like crustables
