I wishi was young enough and brave enough to follow you down there. Absolutely mind blowing .. hats off to the Welsh miners and thanks to you for showing us all their work.
Hi Antonio, this is such an amazing location, it's not hard to imagine all of the miners busy at work and the noise of all of the machinery going. That incline is an absolute beast and an awesome feat of engineering, I wonder how many man hours it took to construct it ??. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💖
impossible to tell how long it took to dig out as built in many stages, but the top looks a little bit like a natural rake that was exploited in the incline construction. certainly a feat of engineering as for all the many buildings and remains of buildings at the top of the hill.every day them miners would go all the way up that massive hill to get to work prior to rail carts assisting them decades later.
This is a fabulous series, Antonio. I really love this location. I believe that Christopher knows this place like the back of his hand. Cheers to your crew. Thanks again Antonio.
Hi Tony, what an awesome mine ive never seen anything like it. You could spend years filming there then still miss bits. Its overwhelming to try & film everything while talking in the camera & trying to stay safe. Huge respect to you & everyone for a fantastic mini series. ❤😊👍
Thanks Carol for your kind Comments !🙋🏻♂️🙏🏼 yes it’s a lot to coordinate with talking / filming and watching for your safety ‘, I feel I need to slow myself down , one mistake in there could be fatal !
I’m absolutely loving this 🤩such an amazing place you all look like you had a great time . Top man for taking the crap away all our local ones have smashed Corona bottles I hate it especially when I have the kids bud 👍
Would it ever be possible to explore the Woodhead Tunnels? There are 3 tunnrels going under the Pennines, one built in the 1830s, one in the 1850s, and one in the 1950s. Sadly all three are closed and never intended to be used again. I think they are totally sealed off. I searched the internet but cannot find any pictures of the inside.
At 20.41 "The loaded cars go down and pull the empty cars up" .. Why would loaded cars go down?....when loaded cars come up under normal circumstances . Unless of course its an external incline such as a hilltop quarry or mine where trucks go down loaded and bring up the empty ones ... just an observation thats all .
