How to Install the Fortigate VM on GNS3

1. Go to Fortinet Website for Download:
support.fortinet.com/Main.aspx
2. Log in or create an account:
-Create An Account:
-Get Pin from Email:
-Captcha Code:
-Fill out information go complete an account:
-Log into the account: verify top right
3. Download the files:
-Download =/ VM Images
-Select Product: FortiGate
-Select Platform: KVM
-Select Download for the files for New Deployment:
4. Extract the Downloaded zip files
5. Open or Install GNS3 if you have not already:
• How to Install GNS3 2....
6. Install the Fortigate on GNS3
-Edit =/ Preferences =/ Qemu VMs =/ New
-Run this Qemu VM on the GNS3 VM
-Specify Name: FortiGate
-Specify Qemu Binary: leaving as default
-RAM: 1024
-Console Type: leave as Telnet
-Disk Image =/ New Image =/ Fortios.qcow2
-Finish:
-Apply =/ OK
7. Configure basics on Fortigate
-Drag and Drop:
-Connect to Switch:
-Turn on Interface Labels:

This video goes through the installation process for the Fortigate VM on GNS3. The virtual firewall Fortigate VM is designed to work with GNS3. I'll add the Fortigate VM to GNS3. The Fortigate GNS3 VM is available to download from Fortinet's website. The fortigate GNS3 vm is available for download and can be configured on GNS3. The Fortigate gns3 template can be installed and downloaded for free.

can the Fortigate be imported into GNS3 that doesnt have a GNS3 VM ? I dont have a GNS3 VM, just a local server. can it still be installed?

I would like to know what Computer Hardware Specs would be a decent workstation to simulate and study labs to this network enviroments, like Cisco, Huawei, Fortigate... I have a iCore 5 wuth 8 GB with 256 SSD w/ Windows 10. Is this machine capable to run this labs?

The main thing is a good CPU and modern higher MHz memory too. It really is all about the CPU. I think when I made the video I was on my i9 but I've upgraded that to my AMD. The main thing is just keeping it current generation, it doesn't have to be one of the crazy models. If you have any other questions let me know.
