Yup. Elton said in that interview "to show how homophobe he isN'T, he send us..." he said that it was so wrong to bash someone for lyrics that are a story, when the guy itself is as humble as possible and does anything to help. And that he himself knows what's it like to come from nothing, and find yourself from top.

Idk i think he was there at the start but it seems Marshall's been mostly on his own this whole time. Im just guessing, but pretty sure Dr. WEST on Relapse is loosely based on his advise from Elton. 🤷‍♀️ Sounds like him. Sounds like it. Makes sense. Cuz no one else is taking it as serious as it is he's gotta do it for himself. If he had a sponsor that was liek tryna stop him from drinkin or anything he could've got "oppositionally defiant" 🤷‍♀️ idk I'm just guessing. I can't tell he doesn't have like a program, or regular AA way of life kind of thing - i think he went to meetings for a bit but he didn't finsih rehab, didn't go back after he was actually ready to- probably kinda mostly feels like an outsider in AA meetings. Probably goes maybe once a year 2 pick up a medallion or just gets it ordered in the mail. I'm curious about the cross he used to wear on a chain. Used 2 wear the AA medallion. I never heard about the whole born-again christian thing idk if that was from AA or who. I liked the thing he said about early sobriety when leaves look cool. Anyone else think that car crash hoax thing was like ... 🤔 what?? Like ... twice recently "eminem died" but just kidding. Then he's in saudi Arabia . .. now he's been killin it at the football games seeming like somethings different?? Like he's brand new or something?? 🤷‍♀️ ....just wondering how many times he been cloned now lmao. 😅 jk

Em was different because he didn't claim to be a rich supergangsta. He was open about being effed up and poor and hating the world. That was original and refreshing. He made it about talent and rap and not about bling and gold.... just for a little while atleast... Then it went full circle and got back to the private jet and goldchain flexes...
Same reason e love HMack. It is for the love of the art and not about bling.

The only people who claim to not bump Eminem in their cars are those ignorant, close minded, subconsciously racist insecure weirdo “hood” guys who know deep down that Eminem is dope, but they’re too prideful to admit it. They’re heavily influenced by their too “hard/gangster” homies who only want to be seen and heard listening to that “hood” shit to make them look cool 🤦‍♂️ they’re close minded and too self conscience about what their homies might think of they’re heard listening to the white rapper. It’s pathetic but also funny though because I’ve noticed A LOT of those dudes who used to live that “by the code hood life” actually grow up and realize how dope Eminem is by finally diving into his deep cut catalogue. You see them everywhere on TH-cam now talking about it and how they always just knew of Eminem’s goofy/humorous singles or mainstream tracks. When you get older, all of the nit picky hater friends who only listened to the music they could relate to/thought was cool all grow apart from you and start living their own lives. So nobody is around to judge or make fun of the clothes you wear and the music you bump. Most of those guys are able to finally free their minds and make their own decisions out of curiosity without having to worry about being made fun of or judged. It’s sad but that’s how it usually is living in with that “hood” brainwashed mentality. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of grown ass men who stay stuck with that mentality and never mature. Though the beautiful thing is that they are the few minority left behind while the majority of the world know how dope and GOATED Eminem is in reality. Those few haters actually believe that their horrible biased opinions are facts, and they desperately trying to block out and ignore the legends/pioneers of rap who have Eminem as one of their GOATS 😂 when you see Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Treach, Masta Ace, Busta, Big Pun, KRS1, Ice-T, Dre, Cube, and a bunch more legends saying that Eminem is dope and one of the greatest MCs to touch the mic….then it should tell you that there’s clearly something wrong with those weirdo haters who think that their opinions hold any weight in the conversation of rap 😂 just because them and their lame hood homies trash Eminem, it just means that they don’t know how to grow up and throw away that toxic prideful ego they happily allow to consume them 🤦‍♂️ it’s like cavemen who refuse to evolve and change with the times 😂

There is a bigger theme than just the song or the album concept. Bars earlier he talks about how he is the game , talking about how everyone has to hate on him, skip down bars and he is not only talking about the song , or the album but all of rap is now his and andres carnival, or show. Everone else is just an attracion in Eminem and Andre's circus. The side shows on your way to the main tent.

I believe MGK definitely got that "beard is weird" line from this song. MGK is/was a big Eminem fan and knew all of his songs. When he says that line in Rap Devil it's in the same way Em said it in this song.
Em also mentioned in his song Berserk.. "Grow ya beard out, just weird out..". So there are two references MGK could have come from when mentioning the beard line. It seems random when he says it.. but it actually has some references from those songs. 😊👍
I hope u keep revisiting some of these older songs man.. all your work is 🔥🔥.

I think it's more that Weird/beard was selected for its assonance, common collocation, and like Cliff said, it was probably Kelly's opinion of it. Furthermore, his first line was somebody grab him some clippers which can contradict your conjecture and substantiate the opposite: he does not want Em to disappear.

    • @dman1417
      @dman1417 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Personally I believe y’all are giving MGK waaaaay too much credit. Eminem simply had grown a beard around that time and when people first saw it a ton of social media reactions were like “WTF? Em has a beard? That don’t look right” etc. because it was a completely new look. I don’t think this song had anything to do with it.

Just an idea and/or a wish, but if you ever have the time, could you do a "history of rap", like start from the ones Em shouts out on his tracks, going through the 90's war-era and where we are now? I myself only know little about the east-west war and the importance NWA and Public Enemy had, thanks to a friend who's since disapeared. I game to the game late and only know few songs from here and there.

I went to the janitor storage booth
    Kicked the door hinge loose,

Grabbed sharp objects brooms and foreign tools,
This is for every rime you rook my orange juice

And six diamonds is also only US.
Now look at his global numbers.
SO MANY numbers 1 spots and records broken by him.
Insane sales amounts and now still crazy streaming numbers. There’s not a bigger artist in the world I think.

When Elton John performed with Em, it was as if to say, this man is not homophobic.

That mention of "in 80 songs"; I bet if you went back and counted his output at that point...

Cliff can you share anything you may know about Eminem next album or are you just speculating based on him recently saying he’s working on something?

No bro, MGK tried to use that line against him...have to remember, MGK was a fan. That was MGK's way of trying to stamp home that Em is old, and reached the point where he should retire...which is also why he was referencing Em's albums after Recovery (at the time) didn't have the same impact....Em eventually flipped everything around on him, LOL...but the intent from Kelly was crystal clear, that's what he was trying to go for.
