    The Beechcraft Baron is a light twin-engine piston aircraft designed and produced by Beechcraft. The aircraft was introduced in 1961.
    The Velocity V-Twin is a four-seat (with a five-seat option), retractable tricycle landing gear, composite construction aircraft with a twin engine pusher configuration and the canard layout of the Velocity XL single engine.

    If you can't have a Burt Rutan Beechcraft Starship... this is definitely the next best thing. Velocity Twin is a beautiful design. Thanks for the video!

    I really like the Velocity aircraft design. For some reason it just makes sense and for a quieter aircraft. Just don't know I'd be up to ever putting one together, and $350,000 for a completed price seems pretty darn good for the performance. It's nice to have different engine options as well. What a great aircraft.

    Not bad info... Looks like the Velocity would be the better aircraft... It will be interesting to compare the Velocity 6 passenger with the Beechcraft Baron. But you'll need to wait for the stats as the aircraft is in the paint shop now, and some time to determine fuel burn, payload, and all the other stats.....

    The are no twin engine that can compete against V-Twin , only single engine aircraft like Ravin 500 and Velocity XL have a chance.

    Why is the cruise speed more than the VNE?

    • @Airplane_Stuff
      @Airplane_Stuff  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The cruise is in TAS and the Vne is IAS and the builder of the aircraft makes the VNE this aircraft has no factory VNE

    This pusher will be very dangerous when lost one engine and go around or miss approach, even if it had vertical stabilizer and rudder, it’s because the arm (distance from the prop to Center of Gravity point is a lot longer than the other kinds of twin, you need a lot more rudder (it doesn’t have any) to balance the yaw… otherwise when you full power on just one engine without lots of rudder, aircraft will flip and ….

      WHAT!? The V-Twin definitely has a rudder! Are you bind? And the engines are place closer together than on the Beechcraft so there should be more yaw control in the V-Twin. I have read several articles stating that this is indeed true and that the aircraft has very good single engine handling characteristics. What have you read that supports your claims?

      @@InquisitiveSearcherNot sure where James got his physics info from but if he paid money for it he should demand his money back. By putting the engines closer to the roll-center line of the airplane as is the case with the Velocity V-Twin, you decrease the moment/distance from the roll-center line to the prop center-line thereby reducing the amount of torque/force generated on the wing. And yes it does have a rudder.
