It sounds quite normal for me either way. I'm from Georgia. Southern English is always a bit more laid back
I feel for Shuu speaking fast because this is a problem a lot of Australians face when speaking english to others, we speak really fast but don't notice it a lot of the time!
The most interesting thing about convenience stores for me are definitely the printing machines where you can fax/scan/print stuff. You'd normally have to go to a library to get those kind of machines!
Your story about the plastic bag reminded me about one of my first times in Japan, I was at Kyoto station with my mate (Japanese) and we were waiting for the shinkansen to Tokyo which was like 30 minutes away so I told him I was going to get some food from the bakery.
I bought the bread I wanted and went up to pay and the cashier asked me a question. I also thought she was asking me if I wanted a plastic bag and since I didn't really know Japanese, I just responded "hai". She looked at me really puzzled for a few seconds and asked the question again. At this point I thought she didn't hear me the first time so I responded "hai" again. She gave me another puzzled look until my friend came over and asked me why I was taking so long buying bread..
He asked her what was the problem and she told him "I'm asking whether he wants to eat in or do takeaway and he keeps responding 'yes' to my question".
He never fails to mention this story at every dinner we go to now.
God I love Shu's accent it's so pleasant to hear~~
Japan's convenience stores literally put the word "convenience" in it. They even have ATM machines, which is not available on our convenience stores. They are separate and need to find one.
Also the speed was really cool that it returned to normal once its 1.25x speed.

Convenient Store lol. it's in the name but we never have everything in said store here in America. So we end up going to Walmart or Target and even then, sometimes we just can't find exactly what we need at that moment

hay de todo en estas tiendas pequeñas!
En estos espacios tienen...
Bueno tienen bebidas y comida,
Hay material de oficina o escolar, hay alimentos congelados,
helado, ¿qué más había...?
Hay detergentes y jabones
también champú, acondicionador, baterias,
sobres, baterías de teléfonos
tienen dulces...
También hay comida caliente,
puedes comprar café, tienen un cajero automático
incluso puedes imprimir cosas
y otra cosa muy interesante es que
cuando compras merienda o comida,
Te agregan los palillos y las cucharas juntos, para que puedas comer usándolos.
También algo bueno es que puedes comprar ramen instantáneo
En algunas tiendas, hay ollas con agua hirviendo
y puedes usarlo para agregar agua caliente al ramen instantáneo
y llevártelo donde quieras,
por ejemplo al parque.
Algo curioso es que en días lluviosos,
venden paraguas, y tienen
de distintos tipos
(En los paquetes dicen) "¡Paraguas de 65cm!" o de "70cm"
También venden paraguas plegables
y cuando compres un paraguas
te preguntan si quieres que le quiten el empaquetado
para poder usarlo de inmediato.
¡Y eso es muy fascinante!
Ya que en un día lluvioso, si vas a una tienda de conveniencia
y compras un paraguas es probablemente porque olvidaste el tuyo
y te preguntan lo del empaquetado por si lo quieres usar de inmediato.
Creo que eso es genial
y así no tienes que llevar cargando
el plástico protector porque
en la tienda ya lo quitan y lo botan.
Una cosa que me avergüenza
es que las primeras veces que fui a una tienda de estas en Japón,
usualmente te preguntan "Fukuro ni iremasuka?"
Que significa "¿Lo ponemos en una bolsa?"
No estaba acostumbrada a eso en Australia,
allí cuando un empleado te pregunta algo,
es normalmente tipo
"¿Quieres un hot dog extra con esto?" O
"¿Quieres comprar algo más junto a esto?"
o cosas así, también dicen
"Si compras esto, ¡puedes obtener un cupón!" etc...
Y pues en Japón pensaba que ellos me preguntaban si
quería comprar un producto más
y yo estaba como "No gracias, está bien"
y salía de la tienda
sosteniendo la comida en mis manos y estaba tipo
"Eh...? ¡Porqué no me dieron una bolsa!?"
Y ahora me doy cuenta de que el empleado me preguntaba si quería
una bolsa o no.
Y cuando me enteré, fue un poco vergonzoso lol
En Japón, las bolsas no son gratis, cuestan 2 o 3 yenes
otras veces incluso más.
Ahora, si me preguntan
si quiero una bolsa o no...
No puedo responder sí o no sin pensar que me están preguntando si quiero comprar algo más.

I'm from Hokkaido, and the Seicomart convenience store in Hokkaido is very good!
They carry a lot of liquor, and they have side dishes that you can buy for as little as 100 yen!
Also, I highly recommend the Hot Chef, where you can buy hot food made in the store!

I've always wondered whether it was possible to live a whole year and not shop anywhere other than at convenience stores, while still living "normally," like if you need something you don't purposely go without just to beat the challenge.
On our Japan trips the convenience store is inevitably the first pit stop we make after checking into our hotel (or sometimes before, if we arrive too early and can't check in yet!). We kinda know that we don't have to bring too much everyday stuff from home because we can just buy it there.
And the frozen food is actually really good! Just remember the frozen chicken skin skewers that after reheating tasted almost as good as skewers from an real eatery.
Talking a bit slower is nice, it feels more laid back? Hope it helps anyone learning English! Also your hairstyle in this video is very cute!

They really take to heart the convenience part of convenience store. I believe I heard where Japan wants to reduce its plastic usage, so I guess that makes sense about the bags, though 2 or 3 yen isn't much at all. Still, it might be enough to convince people to carry reusable bags.
7/11, Ministop, Lawson - this are the convenience store are very iconic in japan, while here in philippines 7/11 and ministop were very iconic for a long time, lawson is also here but rarely to find

Even though I didn't personally need it I could understand everything so thanks for speaking a bit more slowly ^^ In Spain we also have to pay like 4 or 5 cents (~¥6) for a plastic bag so we often bring our own bags with us. Besides, the question "do you want a plastic bag?" is actually a meme within the spanish twitter community😂

好的!今天我們來聊聊日本的便利商店!
我去日本的便利商店所了解到的事情是
那間小店面裡面有幾乎任何東西!
在那小空間裡面，有賣文具
也有賣飲料與食物
有賣文具、也有賣冷凍食物
也有冰淇淋、還有什麼...
他們也有賣洗衣粉、還有賣肥皂
也有洗髮精、護髮霜、還有電池、
信封袋、手機電池、
還有各式甜點
你也可以買熱食
也可以買咖啡，裡面還有ATM
你知道也可以影印嗎...?
另一件覺得很有趣的事情是
當你買便當或是之類的食物
他們會給你筷子或是湯匙來給你使用
還有你也可以買泡麵
有些便利商店裡會放一壺熱水
你可以用那熱水來泡你的泡麵
之後將泡麵帶出店外，帶到你喜歡的地方...
像是公園等等
還有很有趣的是，在下雨天，
他們會賣雨傘，甚至有
各式各樣的雨傘
像是上面有寫"65cm的雨傘!"或是"75cm!"
他們還會賣摺疊傘
在下雨天，當你買雨傘的時候
店員會問你要不要把雨傘的包裝拿掉
你就可以立即使用!
我覺得這很厲害因為
當你在下雨天去便利商店
去買雨傘，可能是因為你忘記帶傘出門
所以他們會問你需不需要拿掉包裝
讓你可以直接撐雨傘出去
我覺得真的很貼心
而且，你不需要帶著
那個雨傘的包裝到處走，因為
他們會幫你拿掉並
幫你把包裝丟在垃圾桶內!
一件讓我很尷尬的事情是
當你第一次來到日本的便利商店，
他們會跟你說:"袋に入れますか?"
意思就是"要幫您裝在一個塑膠袋嗎?"
我在澳洲不習慣被人家這麼問
當你買東西時店員問你一些問題
問題內容像是
"您需要多加一根熱狗嗎?"或是
"您想要多加買什麼東西嗎?"
之類的，或是
"如果你買這個商品會贈送你一張折價券"等等
所以我當時以為他們在問我
想要我再買什麼東西
然後我就回答"不用了，謝謝"
當我走出便利商店時
手上都是滿滿的食物，我當時就
"嗯...?我沒拿袋子!"
現在，我知道店員會問
我需不需要裝袋
當我終於察覺到時，真的是非常尷尬(笑)
現在日本的塑膠袋需要收費了，一個差不多2、3日幣
有些店家的塑膠袋可能收費更多
現在我已經知道如果店員會詢問我
需不需要塑膠袋
我已經可以立刻回答
不用想到他們問我需不需要再多買東西!
好了今天我講了關於日本的便利商店，
而且我比起平常的講話速度還要慢了些

The convenience store in Taiwan even come up with more services. They even have coffee machine for a hot latte, and there you can buy train tickets, buy concert or show tickets, pay your bill, even can ship things from one convenience store to another!
There also have seats to eat the things you buy in the store.
I worked in a convenience store for six months so I know many things about it. And the thing said "If a store staff is a knife, then a convenience store staff is a swiss knife" is very accurate.

i think you talking a bit more slowly feels more natural, i sometime record my voice for narrations and definitely speaking slower helps to articulate better, i could understand you perfectly before but this change is good as well

I can understand speaking more slowly to help people who are learning English, but I don't think that should be how you record all of your videos in English (not that you were planning on doing that). I feel like that should be reserved for certain videos, and maybe you could even make videos teaching people English, Shu-chan!
Also, as an aside, if you can speed the video up to make your talking speed sound normal, then technically anyone learning English could just...slow the video down and get the same effect, without you having to talk slowly for the entire video....just a thought.
