Film Colossal la prima volta che l ho visto avevo 3 anni sono entrata al cinema di nascosto....io non lo ricordo mi è stato raccontato...ma vi assicuro che ogni volta che lo trasmetto non me lo perdo...attori super bravi film bellissimo gli Oscar lo dimostrano.........
Una película épica que forma parte de la historia del cine, toda ella es maravillosa, pero hay unas escenas que particularmente a mí, me saca lágrimas de emotividad, al final de la película, se ve a Jesús en la Cruz bajo tormenta y lluvia que anunciaba la muerte de Jesús, en esa escena se ve la resignación de Ben Hur junto a su madre y hermana enfermas de lepra, eso a mí me emociono tanto que hasta llore, una película como esa difícilmente se volverá a crear, aunque exista la mejor tecnología del mundo, pero no tendrá la calidad de los actores.

Love the moment when Caesar receives the Imperial insignia from the pillow holder a little distant from his hand, the divine Caesar seems angry enough to send this guy to the galleys! Little touch of humor there in this massive mostly serious epic which I saw when it was first released.
Amazing how the four horses pulling the chariot were grays at the introduction of this scene from Ben Hur but somehow managed to change color to blacks when Ben Hur was alone with them at the end.
I've read the book. It's still impossible to wrap my head around the idea that it was written in Indiana and New Mexico. It's like Mozart's libretist moving to New Jersey and opening a grocery store. Culture shock.

Y un curioso error en la pelicula. En la celeberrima escena de la carrera de cuadrigas, sucede lo siguiente. Hay 9 corredores, 6 son eliminados y a la meta llegan....4. Mas aun, cuando el romano sigue en la carrera se ven tomas aereas y se nota claramente que los corredores son 5 y no 4
Miklos Rozsa was normally an excellent composer. Why was it, though, that every composer who worked on Roman films gave them this shrieking, bellowing brass and crashing cymbals? There's not a lot of Roman music extant, but what there is sounds nothing like this. Nice to see no CGI. It would cost $400 billion to make today.
I think now it looks a little overdone...the Roman legions in the Greatest Story are less glitzy than these and more gritty as would desert conscripts be...archaeology has informed the authenticity of reenactment since the late Fifties when all these plastic replica sets were designed and mass produced.
