I love the closeups, the camera definitely makes it look flawless and this gives viewers a better understanding of the issues with a product
This is what I needed for many years because I feel that my makeup never looks so flawless like I see on these makeup artist's videos😢
@@talayoki6989That’s why a lot of content creators especially on TikTok & TH-cam\Instagram shorts show that what is shown in videos isn’t how it looks in real life so don’t set your expectations too high. It’s like when I stopped applying cosmetic products to my eyelids because I was following what was said on social media then I started getting panda eyes that I didn’t have initially and my concealer started creasing when it didn’t before lol. So just do what works for you hun it’s all trial and error as what works for one doesn’t work for everyone. X
A lot of people also use the smoothing filter on their videos as well.. which she may have here.. i was hoping she would do the phone camera shot again at the end
@@niicole1Nah her skin irl looks really smooth in close ups as well I don't really see any immediate texture which could be shown through the makeup
You could see large pores on her nose, creases under the eyes, and her skin DID look like she had grease in certain areas. That being said, she STILL looked better than I EVER HAVE.

@@Mary1337 For as far as i know, we (dutchies) all get multiple languages taught at school in higher education. So, I got taught Spanish, French, English, German and Dutch at my school. I did VWO (so after VWO you go to university)
I CANT BELIEVE SHE WAS ABOUT TO USE THE RARE BEAUTY LIQUID BLUSH! That blush is my holy grail product! While it does dry a little faster than id like, it gives me SO much pigment with only one dot! I wish Nikkie could share the love I have for this product 😭

7:06 I gotta say, I use Kryola Vitacolor as a foundation for drag all the time, and I never have an issue with it slipping - however, I do powder it before applying most things on top of it. I think the trick is, instead of using concealers, I use three shades of foundation: I lay down my highlight areas; Dillon the rest of my face with my base color; and then use a dark shade to contour. Then powder all of that. And even after setting powder, it stays soft enough that powders will stick to it without needing to apply eyeshadow primer.

I love how open minded nicki is about any and every brand. How it works for her or if it doesn’t without bashing the product. Thank you for showing us up close how the make up creased and sat on the face. I think it is important to see that every now and then. To remind us that it is make up not your face, you know what I'm trying to say. This was super fun and loved it!!

Nikki is just solidifying more that lighting and cameras are so important. If you’ve ever seen a show on tv and attended in person or seen the people in person still in their tv look you get to see the reality they aren’t flawless one bit. Sometimes they look wild. Then you see what the camera captured and you sit their shook.

Oh i love the nyx brow glue, I've always had stubborn brows and it works for me, but my brow hairs are quite long and wirey and i use it more for a tamed fluffy brow look over a super glued down soap brow look! I also prefer a more masculine, less delicate brow because I have very soft features and I like the contrast!
I honestly love that lipstick. I tend to gravitate more towards the crazy colored lipsticks. But I understand that they're not for everyone

With the Charlotte Tilbury wand it’s usually used for light coverage girlies (don’t mark my words) and with full coverage it will peel it off as it did for you, otherwise if you did light coverage or even no foundation it will stick to your skin and make it glowy and contoured! Love you Nicky
Also needs putting on with a contour brush to get best results I’ve found
Yess! Im a light coverage girly and it works well on me BUT i can see how it might look muddy in different scenarios, depending on
the powder i use it might be harder to blend
I like the color of the lipstick personally, but I know Nikkie isn't a big fan of greens in general.I think it would look great if it were tied into whole look that matched the color scheme, or maybe it's just for a different skin tone. That foundation is horrendous tho
Yeah, I immediately thought of another TH-camr who would rock a look with that lipstick. It’s just not Nikkie
I think a black lip liner or even being laid over a black liquid matte would have helped so much. But also a better makeup look over all would have improved it!

The elf matte camo concealer makes my under eye look dry and it creases! I’m with you on that one!

definitely appreciate showing your skin up close with a different camera. so many times ive seen people rave about a product or absolutely despise it and with their setup it all looks the same. its rly helps to see how it looks to see up close in an uncontrolled setup so we can actually see what it would look like in person.
I really do love that you point out how some products might be great but not for you because that is such a frustrating feeling when it happens!
the worst product according to me was definitely the highlighter (for obv reasons, it made your face look really oily and really gave off that 5$ highlighter vibe) and you should definitely give a second try to the glitter eyeliner (that is actually looking gorgeous as a graphic eyeliner), love your videos so much

I love you added the phone camera!! The video lighting makes it look great. With the phone camera you can see what you’re talking about.
I’m absolutely here for the iPhone clips, studio lighting diffuses and makes everything look better so showing phone clips is genius! Most of us won’t be wearing makeup under studio lighting so much appreciate the realistic take. ❤
Hear me out in the Nars blush, I’ve been using it for a few years and the best way to apply it is with a less dense brush. I use the Sephora 55 brush and it doesn’t disrupt the foundation underneath and blends like a dream. That brush is also great for cream bronzer too.
Thank you for the iPhone videos! Really helps show this issues with the products. The normal camera definitely shows you looking flawless!
hi nikkie i'm a makeup artist and i have in my kit the kryolan foundation and love it! I use just a tiny dot of pure product as concealer or mix it with the mixing medium that they provide to let it sit better on the skin. Try it again with the medium and let me know ❤

The reason the JLo bronze thingy pilled up is because your Nimya primer is water based while that product is silicone based. If you try to layer water,silicone, or oil based products on top of each other they don't like mixing and pill. That might also be a factor with other foundation or concealers you've tried - if they're not water based like your primer they will pill or feel slippery!

I use my rare beauty concealer mainly for the tone that it gives me. I’m a darker skin babe and it’s hard to find a concealer that’s not too yellow, red, or just washed out. I go over top with my hourglass foundation stick and kind of blend them out at the same time. Thanks for the honest review! ❤❤❤

You know I really like these type of videos and they all are amazing but you really went in there and fully applied everything and kept it on without manipulating the product in anyway no matter how you were gonna look! You were even gonna keep on the glitter liner despite the possible burn! And we appreciate that! Thank you for staying true to you and going all in. (And before anyone goes crazy I don’t mean actually manipulate the product I mean when other artist blend it out or wipe it off stuff like that.)

That highlighter was revolting! Everything else was like ok this could be worked differently and maybe slay but that was irredeemable! With the rare concealer you have to use the tiniest amount and blend out to avoid creasing. xx

Omg queen that highlighter made you look like a grease ball. But for the Dior blush I get the hype because it’s a product popular in the k beauty world. It’s beautiful on their skin but doesn’t show on very complexion. Plus I worked in Dior for 4 years and that was my literal clientele 😅

Love your videos! I think some expensive or luxury products do not "perform" because they're meant to be safe for your skin and do not have harmful ingredients. So they basically charge you for keeping your skin relatively safe lol.
